Atos 8
1 E também Saulo consentia na morte dele. E fez-se naquele dia uma grande perseguição contra a igreja que estava em Jerusalém; e todos foram dispersos pelas terras da Judeia e da Samaria, exceto os apóstolos.
Saul had pleasure in his deeth. And at yt tyme there was a great persecucion agaynst the congregacion which was at Ierusalem and they were all scattered abroade thorowout the regions of Iury and Samaria except the Apostles
2 E alguns varões piedosos foram enterrar a Estevão, e fizeram sobre ele grande pranto.
Then devout men dressed Steven aud made great lamentacion over him.
3 E Saulo assolava a igreja, entrando pelas casas: e, arrastando homens e mulheres, os encerrava na prisão.
But Saul made havocke of the congregacion entrynge into every housse and drewe out bothe man and woman and thrust the into preson.
4 Mas os que andavam dispersos iam por toda a parte, anunciando a palavra.
They that were scattered abroade went every where preachyng the worde.
5 E, descendo Felipe a cidade de Samaria, lhes pregava à Cristo.
Then came Philip into a cite of Samaria and preached Christ vnto them.
6 E as multidões estavam atentas unanimemente às coisas que Felipe dizia, porquanto ouviam e viam os sinais que ele fazia;
And the people gave hede vnto those thinges which Philip spake with one acorde in that they hearde and sawe the miracles which he dyd.
7 Pois os espíritos imundos saiam de muitos que os tinham, clamando em alta voz; e muitos paralíticos e coxos eram curados.
For vnclene spretes cryinge with loude voyce came out of many that were possessed of them. And manye taken with palsies and many yt halted were healed
8 E havia grande alegria naquela cidade.
And ther was great ioye in that cite.
9 E havia um certo varão, chamado Simão, que anteriormente exercera naquela cidade a arte mágica, e tinha iludido a gente de Samaria, dizendo que era um grande personagem:
And ther was a certayne man called Simon which before tyme in the same cite vsed witche crafte and bewitched the people of Samarie sayinge that he was a man yt coulde do greate thinges
10 Ao qual todos atendiam, desde o mais pequeno até ao maior, dizendo: Este é a grande virtude de Deus.
Whom they regarded from ye lest to the greatest sayinge: this felow is the great power of God.
11 E atendiam-no a ele, porque já desde muito tempo os havia iludido com artes mágicas.
And him they set moche by because of longe tyme with sorcery he had mocked the.
12 Mas, como creram em Felipe que lhes pregava acerca do reino de Deus, e do nome de Jesus Cristo, se batizavam, tanto homens como mulheres.
But assone as they beleved Philippes preachynge of the kyngdome of God and of the name of Iesu Christ they were baptised bothe men and wemen.
13 E creu até o mesmo Simão; e, sendo batizado, ficou de contínuo com Felipe; e, vendo os sinais e as grandes maravilhas que se faziam, estava atônito.
Then Simon him selfe beleved also and was baptised and cotinued with Phillip and wondered beholdynge the miracles and signes which were shewed.
14 Os apóstolos, pois, que estavam em Jerusalém, ouvindo que Samaria recebera a palavra de Deus, enviaram-lhes Pedro e João.
When ye Apostles which were at Ierusalem hearde saye that Samaria had receaved ye worde of God: they sent vnto the Peter and Iohn
15 Os quais, tendo descido, oraram por eles para que recebessem o Espírito Santo.
which when they were come prayed for the that they myght receave ye holy goost
16 (Porque sobre nenhum deles tinha ainda descido; mas somente eram batizados em nome do Senhor Jesus.)
For as yet he was come on none of them: But they were baptised only in the name of Christ Iesu.
17 Então lhes impuzeram as mãos, e receberam o Espírito Santo.
Then layde they their hondes on them and they receaved the holy goost.
18 E Simão, vendo que pela imposição das mãos dos apóstolos se dava o Espírito Santo, lhes ofereceu dinheiro,
When Simo sawe that thorowe layinge on of the Apostles hondes on them the holy goost was geven: he offered the money
19 Dizendo: dai-me também a mim esse poder, para que qualquer sobre quem eu puser as mãos receba o Espírito Santo.
sayinge: Geve me also this power that on whom soever I put the hondes he maye receave the holy goost.
20 Mas disse-lhe Pedro: O teu dinheiro seja contigo para perdição, pois cuidaste que o dom de Deus se alcança por dinheiro.
Then sayde Peter vnto him: thy monye perysh with the because thou wenest that the gifte of God maye be obteyned wt money.
21 Tu não tens parte nem sorte nesta palavra, porque o teu coração não é reto diante de Deus
Thou hast nether parte nor felloushippe in this busines. For thy hert is not ryght in the syght of God.
22 Arrepende-te pois dessa tua iniquidade, e ora a Deus, para que porventura te seja perdoado o pensamento do teu coração;
Repent therfore of this thy wickednes and praye God that ye thought of thyne hert maye be forgeven the.
23 Pois vejo que estás em fel de amargura, e em laço de iniquidade.
For I perceave that thou arte full of bitter gall and wrapped in iniquite.
24 Respondendo, porém, Simão, disse: orai vós por mim ao Senhor, para que nada do que dissestes venha sobre mim.
Then answered Simon and sayde: Praye ye to the lorde for me yt none of these thinges whiche ye have spoken fall on me.
25 Tendo eles pois testificado e falado a palavra do Senhor, voltaram para Jerusalém, e em muitas aldeias dos samaritanos anunciaram o evangelho.
And they whe they had testified and preached the worde of the lorde returned toward Ierusalem and preached the gospell in many cities of the Samaritas.
26 E o anjo do Senhor falou a Felipe, dizendo: Levanta-te, e vai para a banda do sul, ao caminho que desce de Jerusalém para Gaza, que é deserta.
Then the angell of the lorde spake vnto Phillip sayinge: aryse and goo towardes mydde daye vnto ye waye yt goeth doune fro Ierusalem vnto Gaza which is in ye desert.
27 E levantou-se, e foi; e eis que um homem ethiope, eunuco, mordomo-mór de Candace, rainha dos ethiopes, o qual era superintendente de todos os seus tesouros, e tinha ido a Jerusalém a adorar,
And he arose and wet on. And beholde a man of Ethiopia which was a chaberlayne and of grete auctorite wt Cadace quene of ye Ethiopias and had ye rule of all her treasure came to Ierusalem for to praye.
28 Regressava, e, assentado no seu carro, lia o profeta Isaias.
And as he returned home agayne sittynge in his charet he rede Esay ye prophet
29 E disse o espírito a Felipe: Chega-te, e ajunta-te a esse carro.
Then ye sprete sayde vnto Phillip: Goo neare and ioyne thy selfe to yonder charet.
30 E, correndo Felipe, ouviu que lia o profeta Isaias, e disse: Entendes tu o que lês?
And Philip ranne to him and hearde him rede ye prophet Esayas and sayde: Vnderstondest thou what thou redest?
31 E ele disse: Como o poderei eu, se alguém me não ensinar? E rogou a Felipe que subisse e com ele se assentasse.
And he sayd: how can I except I had a gyde? And he desyred Philip that he wold come vp and sit wt him.
32 E o lugar da escritura que lia era este: Foi levado como a ovelha para o matadouro, e, como está mudo o cordeiro diante do que o tosquia, assim não abriu a sua boca.
The tenoure of ye scripture which he redde was this. He was ledde as a shepe to be slayne: and lyke a lambe dome before his sherer so opened he not his mouth.
33 Na sua humilhação foi tirada a sua sentença; e quem contará a sua geração? porque a sua vida é tirada da terra.
Because of his humblenes he was not estemed: who shall declare his generacio? for his lyfe is taken fro the erthe.
34 E, respondendo o eunuco a Felipe, disse: Rogo-te, de quem diz isto o profeta? De si mesmo, ou de algum outro?
The chamberlayne answered Philip and sayde: I praye the of whom speaketh the Prophet this? of him selfe or of some other man?
35 Então Felipe, abrindo a sua boca, e começando nesta escritura, lhe anunciou a Jesus.
And Philip opened his mouth and beganne at ye same scripture and preached vnto him Iesus.
36 E, indo eles caminhando, chegaram ao pé de alguma água, e disse o eunuco: Eis aqui água; que impede que eu seja batizado?
And as they went on their waye they came vnto a certayne water and the chamberlayne sayde: Se here is water what shall let me to be baptised?
37 E disse Felipe: É lícito, se crês de todo o coração. E, respondendo ele, disse: Creio que Jesus Cristo é o Filho de Deus
Philip sayde vnto him: Yf thou beleve with all thyne hert thou mayst. He answered and sayde: I beleve that Iesus Christe is the sonne of God.
38 E mandou parar o carro, e desceram ambos à água, tanto Felipe como o eunuco, e o batizou.
And he comaunded the charet to stonde still. And they went doune bothe into the water: bothe Philip and also the chamberlayne and he baptised him.
39 E, quando sairam da água, o espírito do Senhor arrebatou a Felipe, e não o viu mais o eunuco; e, jubiloso, continuou o seu caminho.
And assone as they were come out of the water the sprete of the lorde caught awaye Philip yt the chamberlayne sawe him no moore. And he wet on his waye reioysinge:
40 Porém Felipe achou-se em Azoto, e, indo passando, anunciou o evangelho em todas as cidades, até que chegou a Cesareia.
but Philip was founde at Azotus. And he walked thorow out ye countre preachynge in their cities tyll he came to Cesarea.
