Atos 15
1 Então alguns que tinham descido da Judeia ensinavam os irmãos, dizendo: Se vos não circuncidardes, conforme o uso de Moisés, não podeis salvar-vos.
And certain men which came down from Judæa taught the brethren, [and said], Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
2 Feita pois por Paulo e Barnabé não pequena dissensão e contenda contra eles, resolveu-se que Paulo e Barnabé, e alguns dentre eles, subissem a Jerusalém, aos apóstolos e aos anciãos, sobre aquela questão.
When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.
3 De sorte que eles, acompanhados pela igreja, passavam pela Fenícia e por Samaria, contando a conversão dos gentios; e davam grande alegria a todos os irmãos.
And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
4 E, vindos a Jerusalém, foram recebidos pela igreja e pelos apóstolos e anciãos, e lhes anunciavam quão grandes coisas Deus tinha feito com eles.
And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and [of] the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.
5 Porém alguns da seita dos fariseus, que tinham crido, se levantaram, dizendo que era míster circuncida-los e mandar-lhes que guardassem a lei de Moisés.
But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command [them] to keep the law of Moses.
6 Congregaram-se pois os apóstolos e os anciãos para examinar este negócio.
And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
7 E, havendo grande contenda, levanou-se Pedro e disse-lhes: Varões irmãos, bem sabeis que já há muito tempo Deus me elegeu dentre nós, para que os gentios ouvissem da minha boca a palavra do evangelho, e cressem.
And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men [and] brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
8 E Deus, que conhece os corações, deu testemunho deles, dando-lhes o Espírito Santo, assim como também a nós;
And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as [he did] unto us;
9 E não fez diferença alguma entre eles e nós, purificando os seus corações pela fé.
And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
10 Agora, pois, porque tentais a Deus, pondo sobre a cerviz dos discípulos um jugo que nem nossos pais nem nós pudemos suportar?
Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11 Antes cremos que seremos salvos pela graça do Senhor Jesus Cristo, como eles também.
But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
12 Então toda a multidão se calou, e escutava a Barnabé e a Paulo, que contavam quão grandes sinais e prodígios Deus havia feito por meio deles entre os gentios.
Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.
13 E, havendo-se eles calado, tomou Thiago a palavra, dizendo: Varões irmãos, ouvi-me:
And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men [and] brethren, hearken unto me:
14 Simão relatou como Deus primeiramente visitou os gentios, para tomar deles um povo para o seu nome.
Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
15 E com isto concordam as palavras dos profetas; como está escrito:
And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
16 Depois disto voltarei, e reedificarei o tabernáculo de David, que está caído, e reedificarei as suas ruínas, e tornarei a levantá-lo.
After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:
17 Para que o resto dos homens busque ao Senhor, e todos os gentios, sobre os quais o meu nome é invocado, diz o Senhor, que faz todas estas coisas.
That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world. (aiōn g165)
19 Pelo que julgo que não se deve perturbar aqueles, dentre os gentios, que se convertem a Deus,
Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
20 Mas escrever-lhes que se abstenham das contaminações dos ídolos, e da fornicação, e das carnes sufocadas e do sangue.
But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and [from] fornication, and [from] things strangled, and [from] blood.
21 Porque Moisés, desde os tempos antigos, tem em cada cidade quem o pregue, e cada sábado é lido nas sinagogas.
For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
22 Então pareceu bem aos apóstolos e aos anciãos, com toda a igreja, eleger deles alguns varões, e envia-los com Paulo e Barnabé a Antiochia, a saber: Judas, chamado Barsabbás, e Silas, varões distintos entre os irmãos.
Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; [namely], Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:
23 E por eles escreveram o seguinte: Os apóstolos, e os anciãos e os irmãos, aos irmãos dentre os gentios que estão em Antiochia, e Síria e Cilicia, saúde.
And they wrote [letters] by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren [send] greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:
24 Porquanto ouvimos que alguns que sairam dentre nós vos perturbaram com palavras, e transtornaram as vossas almas, dizendo que devieis circuncidar-vos e guardar a lei, aos quais nada mandamos:
Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, [Ye must] be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no [such] commandment:
25 Pareceu-nos bem, reunidos concordemente, eleger alguns varões, e envia-los com os nossos amados Barnabé e Paulo,
It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
26 Homens que já expuzeram as suas vidas pelo nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27 Enviamos pois Judas e Silas, os quais de boca vos anunciarão também o mesmo.
We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell [you] the same things by mouth.
28 Porque pareceu bem ao Espírito Santo, e a nós, não vos impôr mais encargo algum, senão estas coisas necessárias:
For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
29 Que vos abstenhais das coisas sacrificadas aos ídolos, e do sangue, e da carne sufocada, e da fornicação: das quais coisas fazeis bem se vos guardardes. Bem vos vá.
That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
30 Tendo-se eles pois despedido, partiram para Antiochia, e, ajuntando a multidão, entregaram a carta.
So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:
31 E, lendo-a, alegraram-se, pela consolação a que lhes causava.
[Which] when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.
32 Depois Judas e Silas, que também eram profetas, exortaram e confirmaram os irmãos com muitas palavras.
And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed [them].
33 E, detendo-se ali algum tempo, os irmãos os deixaram voltar em paz para os apóstolos;
And after they had tarried [there] a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.
34 Mas pareceu bem a Silas ficar ali.
Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.
35 E Paulo e Barnabé ficaram em Antiochia, ensinando e pregando, com muitos outros, a palavra do Senhor.
Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
36 E alguns dias depois disse Paulo a Barnabé: Tornemos a visitar nossos irmãos por cada cidade em que já anunciamos a palavra do Senhor, a ver como estão.
And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, [and see] how they do.
37 E Barnabé aconselhava que tomassem consigo a João, chamado Marcos.
And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.
38 Mas a Paulo parecia razoável que não tomassem consigo aquele que desde Pamphylia se tinha apartado deles, e não tinha ido com eles àquela obra.
But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.
39 E tal contenda houve entre eles, que se apartaram um do outro. Barnabé, levando consigo a Marcos, navegou para Chypre.
And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;
40 E Paulo, tendo escolhido a Silas, partiu, encomendado pelos irmãos à graça de Deus.
And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.
41 E foi passando por Síria e Cilicia, confirmando as igrejas.
And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
