1 Timóteo 3
1 Esta é uma palavra fiel: Se alguém deseja o episcopado, excelente obra deseja.
This is a faithful saying: If someone aspires to the office of an qashisha, he desires a good work.
2 Convém pois que o bispo seja irrepreensível, marido de uma mulher, vigilante, sóbrio, honesto, hospitaleiro, apto para ensinar;
The qashisha, therefore, must be beyond criticism, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching;
3 Não dado ao vinho, não espancador, não cobiçoso de torpe ganância, mas moderado, não contencioso, não avarento;
not a drunkard, not violent, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money;
4 Que governe bem a sua própria casa, tendo seus filhos em sujeição, com toda a modéstia;
one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence;
5 (Porque, se alguém não sabe governar a sua própria casa, como terá cuidado da igreja de Deus?)
(but if someone does not know how to manage his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?)
6 Não neófito, para que, ensoberbecendo-se, não caia na condenação do diabo.
not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.
7 Convém também que tenha bom testemunho dos que estão de fora, para que não caia em afronta, e no laço do diabo.
Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into disgrace and the trap of the devil.
8 Da mesma sorte os diáconos sejam honestos, não de língua dobre não dados a muito vinho, não cobiçosos de torpe ganância;

9 Tendo o mistério da fé em uma pura consciência.

10 E também estes sejam primeiro provados, depois sirvam, se forem irrepreensíveis.
Let them also first be tested; then let them serve if they are blameless.
11 Da mesma sorte as suas mulheres sejam honestas, não maldizentes, sóbrias e fieis em todas as coisas.
Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.
12 Os diáconos sejam maridos de uma mulher, e governem bem a seus filhos e a suas próprias casas.
Let meshamshana be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
13 Porque os que servirem bem, adquirirão para si um bom grau, e muita confiança na fé que há em Cristo Jesus.
For those who have ministered well gain for themselves a good standing, and great boldness in the faith which is in Meshikha Yeshua.
14 Escrevo-te estas coisas, esperando ir vêr-te bem depressa;
These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly;
15 Mas, se tardar, para que saibas como convém andar na casa de Deus, que é a igreja de Deus vivo, a coluna e firmeza da verdade.
but if I wait long, that you may know how people ought to behave themselves in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
16 E sem dúvida alguma grande é o mistério da piedade: Deus foi manifestado em carne, foi justificado em espírito, visto dos anjos, pregado aos gentios, crido no mundo, e recebido acima na glória.
Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: He was revealed in the flesh, justified by the Rukha, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
