1 Pedro 1
1 Pedro, apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, aos estrangeiros dispersos no Ponto, Galacia, Cappadócia, Asia e Bithynia;
PETER an Apostle of IESVS CHRIST, to the strangers that dwell here and there throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia,
2 Eleitos segundo a presciência de Deus Pai, em santificação do espírito, para a obediência e aspersão do sangue de Jesus Cristo: graça e paz vos seja multiplicada.
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God ye Father vnto sanctification of ye Spirit, through obedience and sprinkeling of the blood of Iesus Christ: Grace and peace bee multiplied vnto you.
3 Bendito seja o Deus e Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, que, segundo a sua grande misericórdia, nos gerou de novo para uma viva esperança, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo dentre os mortos,
Blessed bee God, euen the Father of our Lord Iesus Christ, which according to his aboundant mercie hath begotten vs againe vnto a liuely hope by the resurrection of Iesus Christ from the dead,
4 Para herança incorruptível, incontaminável, e que se não pode murchar, guardada nos céus para vós,
To an inheritance immortall and vndefiled, and that withereth not, reserued in heauen for vs,
5 Que pela fé estais guardados na virtude de Deus para a salvação, já prestes para se revelar no último tempo.
Which are kept by the power of God through faith vnto saluation, which is prepared to be shewed in the last time.
6 Em que vós vos alegrais, estando agora (se é que assim importa) por um pouco contristados com várias tentações.
Wherein yee reioyce, though nowe for a season (if neede require) yee are in heauinesse, through manifolde tentations,
7 Para que a prova da vossa fé, muito mais preciosa do que o ouro que perece e é provado pelo fogo, se ache em louvor, e honra, e glória, na revelação de Jesus Cristo:
That the triall of your faith, being much more precious then golde that perisheth (though it be tried with fire) might bee founde vnto your praise, and honour and glorie at the appearing of Iesus Christ:
8 Ao qual, não havendo visto, o amais; no qual, não o vendo agora, porém crendo, vos alegrais com gozo inefável e glorioso;
Whome yee haue not seene, and yet loue him, in whome nowe, though yee see him not, yet doe you beleeue, and reioyce with ioy vnspeakeable and glorious,
9 Alcançando o fim da vossa fé, a salvação das almas.
Receiuing the ende of your faith, euen the saluation of your soules.
10 Da qual salvação inquiriram e examinaram os profetas que profetizaram da graça que vos foi dada:
Of the which saluation ye Prophets haue inquired and searched, which prophecied of the grace that should come vnto you,
11 Indagando que tempo ou que maneira de tempo, o espírito de Cristo, que estava neles, indicava, anteriormente testificando os sofrimentos que a Cristo haviam de vir, e a glória que se lhes havia de seguir.
Searching when or what time the Spirite which testified before of Christ which was in them, shoulde declare the sufferings that should come vnto Christ, and the glorie that shoulde follow.
12 Aos quais foi revelado que, não para si mesmos, mas para nós, ministravam estas coisas que agora vos foram anunciadas por aqueles que, pelo Espírito Santo enviado do céu, vos pregaram o evangelho: para as quais coisas os anjos desejam bem atentar.
Vnto whome it was reueiled, that not vnto themselues, but vnto vs they shoulde minister the things, which are nowe shewed vnto you by them which haue preached vnto you the Gospell by the holy Ghost sent downe from heauen, the which things the Angels desire to beholde.
13 Portanto, cingindo os lombos do vosso entendimento, e sóbrios, esperai inteiramente na graça que se vos ofereceu na revelação de Jesus Cristo;
Wherefore, girde vp the Ioynes of your minde: bee sober, and trust perfectly on that grace that is brought vnto you, in the reuelation of Iesus Christ,
14 Como filhos obedientes, não vos conformando com as concupiscências que de antes havia em vossa ignorância;
As obedient children, not fashioning your selues vnto the former lustes of your ignorance:
15 Mas, como é Santo aquele que vos chamou, sede vós também santos em toda a vossa maneira de viver;
But as hee which hath called you, is holie, so be yee holie in all maner of conuersation;
16 Porquanto escrito está: sede santos, porque eu sou Santo.
Because it is written, Be yee holie, for I am holie.
17 E, se invocais por Pai aquele que, sem acepção de pessoas, julga segundo a obra de cada um, andai em temor, durante o tempo da vossa peregrinação:
And if ye call him Father, which without respect of person iudgeth according to euery mans woorke, passe the time of your dwelling here in feare,
18 Sabendo que não com coisas corrutíveis, como prata ou ouro, fostes resgatados da vossa vã maneira de viver que por tradição recebestes dos pais,
Knowing that yee were not redeemed with corruptible things, as siluer and golde, from your vaine conuersation, receiued by the traditions of the fathers,
19 Mas com o precioso sangue de Cristo, como de um cordeiro imaculado e incontaminado,
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lambe vndefiled, and without spot.
20 O qual, na verdade, já de antes foi conhecido ainda antes da fundação do mundo, porém manifestado nestes últimos tempos por amor de vós
Which was ordeined before the foundation of the world, but was declared in the last times for your sakes,
21 Que por ele credes em Deus, o qual o resuscitou dos mortos, e lhe deu glória, para que a vossa fé e esperança estivessem em Deus;
Which by his meanes doe beleeue in God that raised him from the dead, and gaue him glorie, that your faith and hope might bee in God,
22 Purificando as vossas almas na obediência da verdade, pelo espírito, para caridade fraternal, não fingida; amai-vos ardentemente uns aos outros com um coração puro;
Hauing purified your soules in obeying the trueth through the spirite, to loue brotherly without faining, loue one another with a pure heart feruently,
23 Sendo de novo gerados, não de semente corruptível, mas da incorruptível, pela palavra de Deus, viva, e que permanece para sempre. (aiōn g165)
Being borne anewe, not of mortall seede, but of immortall, by the woorde of God, who liueth and endureth for euer. (aiōn g165)
24 Porque toda a carne é como erva, e toda a glória do homem como a flôr da erva. secou-se a erva, e caiu a sua flôr:
For all flesh is as grasse, and all the glorie of man is as the flower of grasse. The grasse withereth, and the flower falleth away.
