1 Pedro 2
1 Deixando pois toda a malícia, e todo o engano, e fingimentos, e invejas, e todas as murmurações,
Putting away therefore all wickedness, and all deceit, and hypocrisy, and envy, and all slander,
2 Desejai afetuosamente, como meninos novamente nascidos, o leite racional, não falsificado, para que por ele vades crescendo;
as newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby to salvation,
3 Se já provastes que o Senhor é benigno:
if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good:
4 E, chegando-vos para ele como para uma pedra viva, reprovada, na verdade, pelos homens, mas para com Deus eleita e preciosa,
coming to him, a living stone, though rejected by people but chosen by God, precious.
5 Vós também, como pedras vivas, sois edificados casa espiritual e sacerdócio santo, para oferecer sacrifícios espirituais agradáveis a Deus por Jesus Cristo.
You also, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Yeshua Meshikha.
6 Pelo que também na escritura se contém: Eis que ponho em Sião a pedra principal da esquina, eleita e preciosa; e quem nela crer não será confundido.
Because it is contained in Scripture, "Look, I am laying in Tsehyun a stone, a chosen precious cornerstone, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame."
7 Assim que para vós, os que credes, é preciosa, mas para os rebeldes a pedra que os edificadores reprovaram essa foi feita a cabeça da esquina;
For you who believe therefore is the honor, but for those who do not believe, "The stone which the builders rejected, has become the chief cornerstone,"
8 E uma pedra de tropeço e rocha de escândalo, para aqueles que tropeçam na palavra, sendo desobedientes; para o que também foram destinados.
and, "a stone to stumble over, and a rock to trip over." For they stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed.
9 Mas vós sois a geração eleita, o sacerdócio real, a nação santa, o povo adquirido, para que anuncieis as virtudes daquele que vos chamou das trevas para a sua maravilhosa luz:
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
10 Vós, que de antes não éreis povo, mas agora sois povo de Deus; que não tinheis alcançado misericórdia, mas agora alcançastes misericórdia.
who once were not a people, but now are God's people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
11 Amados, admoesto-vos, como peregrinos e forasteiros, a que vos abstenhais das concupiscências carnais que combatem contra a alma;
Beloved, I urge you as foreigners and temporary residents, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Tendo o vosso viver honesto entre os gentios; para que, naquilo em que falam mal de vós, como de malfeitores, glorifiquem a Deus no dia da visitação, pelas boas obras que em vós virem.
having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they see, glorify God in the day of visitation.
13 Sujeitai-vos pois a toda a ordenação humana por amor do Senhor: seja ao rei, como ao superior;
Subject yourselves to every human institution for the Lord's sake: whether to the king, as supreme;
14 Seja aos governadores, como aos que por ele são enviados para castigo dos malfeitores, e para louvor dos que fazem o bem.
or to governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evildoers and for praise to those who do well.
15 Porque assim é a vontade de Deus, que, fazendo bem, tapeis a boca à ignorância dos homens loucos:
For this is the will of God, that by well-doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people:
16 Como libertos, e não como tendo a liberdade por cobertura da malícia, mas como servos de Deus.
as free, and not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but as slaves of God.
17 Honrai a todos. amai a fraternidade. Temei a Deus. honrai o rei.
Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
18 Vós, servos, sujeitai-vos com todo o temor aos senhores, não somente aos bons e humanos, mas também aos rigorosos.
Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the wicked.
19 Porque é coisa agradável, se alguém, por causa da consciência para com Deus, sofre agravos, padecendo injustamente.
For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.
20 Porque, que louvor é, se, pecando, sois esbofeteados e sofreis? Mas se, fazendo bem, sois afligidos, e o sofreis, isso é agradável a Deus.
For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if, when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.
21 Porque para isto sois chamados; pois também Cristo padeceu por nós, deixando-nos o exemplo, para que sigais as suas pisadas.
For to this you were called, because Meshikha also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,
22 O qual não cometeu pecado, nem na sua boca se achou engano.
who "committed no sin, nor was deceit found in his mouth."
23 O qual, quando o injuriavam, não injuriava, e quando padecia não ameaçava, mas entregava-se àquele que julga justamente:
Who, when he was cursed, did not curse back. When he suffered, did not threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously;
24 O qual levou ele mesmo em seu corpo os nossos pecados sobre o madeiro, para que, mortos para os pecados, vivamos para a justiça; por cuja ferida sarastes.
who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose wounds you were healed.
25 Porque éreis como ovelhas desgarradas: mas agora estais convertidos ao Pastor e Bispo das vossas almas.
For you were going astray like sheep; but now have returned to the Shepherd and Qashisha of your souls.
