1 Coríntios 1

1 Paulo (chamado apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, pela vontade de Deus), e o irmão Sostenes,

Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,

2 Á igreja de Deus que está em Corinto, aos santificados em Cristo Jesus, chamados santos, com todos os que em todo o lugar invocam o nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, Senhor deles e nosso:

to the assembly of God which is at Corinth—those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:

3 Graça e paz de Deus nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 Sempre dou graças ao meu Deus por vós pela graça de Deus que vos foi dada em Jesus Cristo.

I always thank my God concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus,

5 Porque em todas as coisas sois enriquecidos nele, em toda a palavra e em todo o conhecimento

that in everything you were enriched in him, in all speech and all knowledge—

6 (Como o testemunho de Cristo foi confirmado entre vós).

even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you—

7 De maneira que nenhum dom vos falte, esperando a manifestação de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,

so that you come behind in no gift, waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,

8 O qual vos confirmará também até ao fim, para serdes irrepreensíveis no dia de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.

who will also confirm you until the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 Fiel é Deus, pelo qual fostes chamados para a comunhão de seu Filho Jesus Cristo nosso Senhor.

God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

10 Rogo-vos, porém, irmãos, pelo nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, que digais todos uma mesma coisa, e que não haja entre vós dissensões; antes sejais unidos em um mesmo sentido e em um mesmo parecer.

Now I beg you, brothers, through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions amongst you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgement.

11 Porque de vós, irmãos meus, me foi notificado pelos da família de Chloe que há contendas entre vós.

For it has been reported to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are from Chloe’s household, that there are contentions amongst you.

12 E digo isto, que cada um de vós diz: Eu sou de Paulo, e eu de Apolos, e eu de Cephas, e eu de Cristo.

Now I mean this, that each one of you says, “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” “I follow Cephas,” and, “I follow Christ.”

13 Está Cristo dividido? foi Paulo crucificado por vós? ou fostes vós batizados em nome de Paulo?

Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptised into the name of Paul?

14 Dou graças a Deus, porque a nenhum de vós batizei, senão a Crispo e a Gaio.

I thank God that I baptised none of you except Crispus and Gaius,

15 Para que ninguém diga que eu tenho batizado em meu nome.

so that no one should say that I had baptised you into my own name.

16 E batizei também a família de Estephanas; além destes, não sei se batizei algum outro.

(I also baptised the household of Stephanas; besides them, I don’t know whether I baptised any other.)

17 Porque Cristo enviou-me, não para batizar, mas para evangelizar; não em sabedoria de palavras, para que a cruz de Cristo se não faça vã.

For Christ sent me not to baptise, but to preach the Good News—not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of Christ wouldn’t be made void.

18 Porque a palavra da cruz é loucura para os que perecem; mas para nós, que somos salvos, é o poder de Deus.

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

19 Porque está escrito: Destruirei a sabedoria dos sábios, e aniquilarei a inteligência dos inteligentes.

For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise. I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing.”

20 Onde está o sábio? Onde está o escriba? Onde está o inquiridor deste século? Porventura não tornou Deus louca a sabedoria deste mundo? (aiōn g165)

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world? (aiōn g165)

21 Porque, como na sabedoria de Deus o mundo não conheceu a Deus pela sabedoria, aprouve a Deus salvar os crentes pela loucura da pregação.

For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.

22 Porque os judeus pedem sinal, e os gregos buscam sabedoria;

For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,

23 Mas nós pregamos a Cristo crucificado, que é escândalo para os judeus, e loucura para os gregos.

but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Greeks,

24 Porém para os que são chamados, tanto judeus como gregos, lhes pregamos a Cristo, poder de Deus, e sabedoria de Deus.

but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God;

25 Porque a loucura de Deus é mais sabia do que os homens; e a fraqueza de Deus é mais forte do que os homens.

because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26 Porque, vede, irmãos a vossa vocação, que não muitos sábios segundo a carne, nem muitos poderosos, nem muitos nobres são chamados.

For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;

27 Mas Deus escolheu as coisas loucas deste mundo para confundir as sabias; e Deus escolheu as coisas fracas deste mundo para confundir as fortes;

but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world that he might put to shame the things that are strong.

28 E Deus escolheu as coisas vis deste mundo, e as desprezíveis, e as que não são, para aniquilar as que são;

God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that don’t exist, that he might bring to nothing the things that exist,

29 Para que nenhuma carne se glorie perante ele.

that no flesh should boast before God.

30 Mas vós sois dele, em Jesus Cristo, o qual nos foi feito por Deus sabedoria, e justiça, e santificação, e redenção;

Because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,

31 Para que, como está escrito: aquele que se gloría glorie-se no Senhor.

that, as it is written, “He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.”
