1 Quanto aos filhos de Ruben, o primogênito de israel; porque ele era o primogênito, mas porque profanara a cama de seu pai, deu-se a sua primogenitura aos filhos de José, filho de Israel; para assim não ser contado na genealogia da primogenitura.
The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel—now Reuben was Israel's firstborn, but his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel because Reuben had defiled his father's couch. So he is not recorded as being the oldest son.

4 Os filhos de Joel: Semaias, seu filho, Gog, seu filho, Simei seu filho,
The descendants of Joel were these: Joel's son was Shemaiah. Shemaiah's son was Gog. Gog's son was Shimei.
5 Micha, seu filho, Reaia, seu filho, Baal, seu filho,
Shimei's son was Micah. Micah's son was Reaiah. Reaiah's son was Baal.
6 Beera, seu filho, o qual Tilgath-pilneser, rei da Assyria, levou preso: este foi príncipe dos rubenitas.
Baal's son was Beerah, whom Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria took into exile. Beerah was a leader in the tribe of Reuben.
7 Quanto a seus irmãos para suas famílias, quando puseram nas genealogias segundo as suas descendências, foram chefes Jeiel e Zacarias,

8 E Bela, filho de Azaz, filho de Sema, filho de Joel, que habitou em Aroer até Nebo e Baal-meon,

9 Também habitou da banda do oriente, até à entrada do deserto, desde o rio Euphrates; porque seu gado se tinha multiplicado na terra de Gilead.
and eastward to the start of the wilderness that extends to the Euphrates River. This was because they had many cattle in the land of Gilead.
10 E nos dias de Saul fizeram guerra aos hagarenos, que cairam pela sua mão: e eles habitaram nas suas tendas defronte de toda a banda oriental de Gilead.
In the days of Saul, the tribe of Reuben attacked the Hagrites and defeated them. They lived in the Hagrites' tents throughout all the land east of Gilead.
11 E os filhos de Gad habitaram defronte deles, na terra de Basan, até Salcha.
The members of the tribe of Gad lived near them, in the land of Bashan as far as Salekah.
12 Joel foi chefe, e Sapham o segundo: porém Jaanai e Saphat ficaram em Basan.
Joel was their leader; Shapham was second; and Janai and Shaphat in Bashan.
13 E seus irmãos, segundo as suas casas paternas, foram: Michel, e Mesullam, e Seba, e Jorai, e Jachan, e Zia, e Eber, sete.
Their relatives, by their fathers' families, were Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jakan, Zia, and Eber—seven in all.
14 Estes foram os filhos de Abiail, filho de Huri, filho de Jaroah, filho de Gilead, filho de Michael, filho de Jesisai, filho de Jahdo, filho de Buz;
These persons named above were the descendants of Abihail, and Abihail was the son of Huri. Huri was the son of Jaroah. Jaroah was the son of Gilead. Gilead was the son of Michael. Michael was the son of Jeshishai. Jeshishai was the son of Jahdo. Jahdo was the son of Buz.
15 Ai, filho de Abdiel, filho de Guni, foi chefe da casa de seus pais.
Ahi son of Abdiel son of Guni, was head of their fathers' family.
16 E habitaram em Gilead, em Basan, e nos lugares da sua jurisdição; como também em todos os arrabaldes de Saron, até às suas saídas.
They lived in Gilead, in Bashan, in its towns, and in all the pasturelands of Sharon as far as its borders.
17 Todos estes foram registrados, segundo as suas genealogias, nos dias de Jothão, rei de Judá, e nos dias de Jeroboão, rei de Israel.
All these were listed by genealogical records in the days of Jotham king of Judah and of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18 Dos filhos de Ruben, e dos gaditas, e da meia tribo de Manassés, homens muito belicosos, que traziam escudo e espada, e entesavam o arco, e eram destros na guerra: quarenta e quatro mil e setecentos e sessenta, que saiam à peleja.
The Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh had 44,760 soldiers trained for war, who carried shield and sword, and who drew the bow.
19 E fizeram guerra aos hagarenos, como a Jetur, e a Naphis e a Nodab.
They attacked the Hagrites, Jetur, Naphish, and Nodab.
20 E foram ajudados contra eles, e os hagarenos e todos quantos estavam com eles foram entregues em sua mão; porque clamaram a Deus na peleja, e lhes deu ouvidos, porquanto confiaram nele.
They received divine help against them. In this way, the Hagrites and all who were with them were defeated. This was because the Israelites cried out to God in the battle, and he responded to them, because they put their trust in him.
21 E levaram preso o seu gado: seus camelos, cincoênta mil, e duzentas e cincoênta mil ovelhas, e dois mil jumentos, e cem mil almas de homens.
They captured their animals, including fifty thousand camels, 250,000 sheep, two thousand donkeys, and 100,000 men.
22 Porque muitos feridos cairam, porque de Deus era a peleja; e habitaram em seu lugar, até ao cativeiro.
Many fell because the battle was from God. They lived in their land until the captivity.
23 E os filhos da meia tribo de Manassés habitaram naquela terra: de Basan até Baal-hermon, e Senir, e o monte de Hermon, eles se multiplicaram.
The half tribe of Manasseh lived in the land of Bashan as far as Baal Hermon and Senir (that is, Mount Hermon).
24 E estes foram cabeças de suas casas paternas, a saber: Hepher, e Ishi, e Eliel, e Azriel, e Jeremias, e Hodavias, e Jahdiel, homens valentes, homens de nome, e chefes das casas de seus pais.
These were the heads of their fathers' houses: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel. They were mighty men, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.
25 Porém transgrediram contra o Deus de seus pais: e fornicaram após os deuses dos povos da terra, os quais Deus destruira de diante deles.
But they were unfaithful to their ancestors' God. Instead, they worshiped the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.
26 Pelo que o Deus de Israel suscitou o espírito de Pul, rei d'Assyria, e o espírito de Tiglath-pilneser, rei d'Assyria, que os levaram presos, a saber: os rubenitas e gaditas, e a meia tribo de Manassés; e os trouxeram a Halah, e a Habor, e a Hara, e ao rio de Gozan, até ao dia de hoje.
The God of Israel stirred up Pul king of Assyria (also called Tiglath-Pileser, king of Assyria). He took into exile the Reubenites, Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh. He brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and to the river of Gozan, where they remain to this day.
