Tito 3
1 Admoesta-os a que se sujeitem aos principados e potestades, que lhes obedeçam, e estejam preparados para toda a boa obra;
Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
2 Que a ninguem infamem, nem sejam contenciosos, porém modestos, mostrando toda a mansidão para com todos os homens.
To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, [but] gentle, showing all meekness to all men.
3 Porque tambem nós d'antes eramos insensatos, desobedientes, extraviados, servindo a varias concupiscencias e deleites, vivendo em malicia e inveja, odiosos e odiando uns aos outros.
For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.
4 Mas quando appareceu a benignidade e caridade de Deus, nosso Salvador, para com os homens,
But when the kindness and love of God our Savior towards man appeared,
5 Não pelas obras de justiça que houvessemos feito, mas segundo a sua misericordia, nos salvou pela lavagem da regeneração e da renovação do Espirito Sancto;
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit;
6 O qual abundantemente derramou sobre nós por Jesus Christo nosso Salvador;
Which he shed on us abundantly, through Jesus Christ our Savior;
7 Para que, sendo justificados pela sua graça, sejamos feitos herdeiros segundo a esperança da vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
8 Fiel é a palavra, e isto quero que devéras affirmes, para que os que crêem em Deus procurem applicar-se ás boas obras; estas coisas são boas e proveitosas aos homens.
[This is] a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they who have believed in God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.
9 Mas resiste ás questões loucas, e ás genealogias e contendas, e aos debates ácerca da lei; porque são inuteis e vãos
But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
10 Ao homem hereje, depois de uma e outra admoestação, rejeita-o:
A man that is a heretic, after the first and second admonition, reject;
11 Sabendo que o tal está pervertido, e pecca, estando já em si mesmo condemnado.
Knowing that he who is such, is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned by himself.
12 Quando te enviar Arthemas, ou Tychico, procura vir ter comigo a Nicopolis; porque deliberei invernar ali.
When I shall send Artemas to thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.
13 Acompanha com muito cuidado Zenas, doutor da lei, e Apollo, para que nada lhes falte.
Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing may be wanting to them.
14 E os nossos aprendam tambem a applicar-se ás boas obras, para os usos necessarios, para que não sejam infructuosos.
And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful.
15 Saudam-te todos os que estão comigo. Sauda tu os que nos amam na fé. A graça seja com vós todos. Amen.
All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace [be] with you all. Amen.
