Romanos 11
1 Digo pois: Porventura rejeitou Deus o seu povo? De modo nenhum; porque tambem eu sou israelita, da descendencia d'Abrahão, da tribu de Benjamin.
I ask then, has God rejected his people? Absolutely not. For I also am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 Deus não rejeitou o seu povo, o qual antes conheceu. Ou não sabeis o que a Escriptura diz de Elias? Como falla a Deus contra Israel, dizendo:
God did not reject his people, which he foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says about Elijah? How he pleads with God against Israel:
3 Senhor, mataram os teus prophetas, e derribaram os teus altares; e só eu fiquei, e buscam a minha alma.
"Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have broken down your altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life."
4 Mas que lhe diz a resposta divina? Reservei para mim sete mil varões, que não dobraram os joelhos diante de Baal.
But how does God answer him? "I have kept for myself seven thousand people, who have not bowed the knee to Baal."
5 Assim pois tambem agora n'este tempo ficou um resto, segundo a eleição da graça.
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
6 E, se é por graça, já não é pelas obras: de outra maneira, a graça já não é graça. E, se é pelas obras, já não é graça: de outra maneira a obra já não é obra.
And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace.
7 Pois que? O que Israel buscava não o alcançou; mas os eleitos o alcançaram, e os outros foram endurecidos.
What then? That which Israel seeks for, that he did not obtain, but the chosen ones obtained it, and the rest were hardened.
8 Como está escripto: Deus lhes deu espirito de profundo somno; olhos para não vêrem, e ouvidos para não ouvirem, até ao dia d'hoje.
According as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, to this very day.
9 E David diz: Torne-se-lhes a sua mesa em laço, e em armadilha, e em tropeço e em sua retribuição;
David says, "Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling block, and a retribution to them.
10 Escureçam-se-lhes os olhos para não verem, e encurvem-se-lhes continuamente as costas.
Let their eyes be darkened, so that they can't see, and their backs be bent continually."
11 Digo pois: Porventura tropeçaram, para que caissem? De modo nenhum, mas pela sua queda veiu a salvação aos gentios, para os incitar á emulação.
I ask then, did they stumble that they might fall? Absolutely not. But by their fall salvation has come to the non-Jews, to provoke them to jealousy.
12 E, se a sua queda é a riqueza do mundo, e a sua diminuição a riqueza dos gentios, quanto mais a sua plenitude?
Now if their fall is the riches of the world, and their loss the riches of the non-Jews; how much more their fullness?
13 Porque comvosco fallo, gentios, que, emquanto fôr apostolo dos gentios, glorificarei o meu ministerio;
For I speak to you who are the non-Jews. Since then as I am an apostle to the non-Jews, I glorify my ministry;
14 Para vêr se de alguma maneira posso incitar á emulação os da minha carne, e salvar alguns d'elles.
if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh, and may save some of them.
15 Porque, se a sua rejeição é a reconciliação do mundo, qual será a sua admissão, senão a vida d'entre os mortos?
For if the rejection of them is the reconciling of the world, what would their acceptance be, but life from the dead?
16 E, se as primicias são sanctas, tambem a massa o é; se a raiz é sancta, tambem os ramos o são.
If the first part is holy, so is the whole batch. If the root is holy, so are the branches.
17 E, se alguns dos ramos foram quebrados, e tu, sendo zambujeiro, foste enxertado em logar d'elles, e feito participante da raiz e da seiva da oliveira,
But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them, and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree;
18 Não te glories contra os ramos; e, se contra elles te gloriares, não és tu que sustentas a raiz, mas a raiz a ti
do not boast over the branches. But if you boast, it is not you who support the root, but the root supports you.
19 Dirás pois: Os ramos foram quebrados, para que eu fosse enxertado.
You will say then, "Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in."
20 Bem: por incredulidade foram quebrados, e tu estás em pé pela fé: não te ensoberbeças, mas teme
True; by their unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear;
21 Porque, se Deus não poupou os ramos naturaes, teme que te não poupe a ti tambem.
for if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.
22 Considera pois a bondade e a severidade de Deus: para com os que cairam, severidade; porém para comtigo, a benignidade de Deus, se permaneceres na sua benignidade; de outra maneira, tambem tu serás cortado.
See then the goodness and severity of God. Toward those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness; otherwise you also will be cut off.
23 Porém tambem elles, se não permanecerem na incredulidade, serão enxertados; porque poderoso é Deus para os tornar a enxertar.
They also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
24 Porque, se tu foste cortado do natural zambujeiro, e, contra a natureza, enxertado na boa oliveira, quanto mais esses, que são naturaes, serão enxertados na sua propria oliveira?
For if you were cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree, how much more will these, which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
25 Porque não quero, irmãos, que ignoreis este segredo (para que não presumaes de vós mesmos): que o endurecimento veiu em parte sobre Israel, até que a plenitude dos gentios haja entrado.
For I do not desire you to be ignorant, brothers, of this mystery, so that you won't be wise in your own conceits, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the non-Jews has come in,
26 E assim todo o Israel será salvo, como está escripto: De Sião virá o Libertador, e desviará de Jacob as impiedades.
and so all Israel will be saved. Even as it is written, "There will come out of Zion the Deliverer; he will turn away ungodliness from Jacob.
27 E este será o meu concerto com elles, quando eu tirar os seus peccados.
This is my covenant to them, when I will take away their sins."
28 Assim que, quanto ao evangelho, são inimigos por causa de vós; mas, quanto á eleição, amados por causa dos paes
Concerning the Good News, they are enemies for your sake. But concerning the election, they are loved for the fathers' sake.
29 Porque os dons e a vocação de Deus são sem arrependimento.
For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
30 Porque assim como vós tambem antigamente fostes desobedientes a Deus, porém agora alcançastes misericordia pela desobediencia d'elles,
For as you in time past were disobedient to God, but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience,
31 Assim tambem estes agora foram desobedientes, para tambem alcançarem misericordia pela vossa misericordia.
even so these also have now been disobedient, that by the mercy shown to you they may now also obtain mercy.
32 Porque Deus encerrou a todos debaixo da desobediencia, para com todos usar de misericordia. (eleēsē g1653)
For God has bound everyone over to disobedience, that he might have mercy on all. (eleēsē g1653)
33 Ó profundidade das riquezas, tanto da sabedoria, como da sciencia de Deus! Quão insondaveis são os seus juizos, e quão inexcrutaveis os seus caminhos!
Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God. How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out.
34 Porque quem comprehendeu o intento do Senhor? ou quem foi seu conselheiro?
For "Who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?"
35 Ou quem lhe deu primeiro a elle, e lhe será recompensado?
"Or who has first given to him, and it will be repaid to him again?"
