Salmos 94
1 Ó Senhor Deus, a quem a vingança pertence, ó Deus, a quem a vingança pertence, mostra-te resplandecente.
O LORD! thou God of vengeance! O thou God of vengeance! shine forth!
2 Exalta-te, tu, que és juiz da terra: dá a paga aos soberbos.
Rouse thyself, thou judge of the earth! Render a recompense to the proud!
3 Até quando os impios, Senhor, até quando os impios saltarão de prazer?
How long, O LORD! shall the wicked, How long shall the wicked triumph?
4 Até quando proferirão, e fallarão coisas duras, e se gloriarão todos os que obram a iniquidade?
How long shall their lips pour forth insolence? How long shall all the evil-doers boast?
5 Reduzem a pedaços o teu povo, e affligem a tua herança.
O LORD! they trample upon thy people, And oppress thine inheritance!
6 Matam a viuva e o estrangeiro, e ao orphão tiram a vida.
They slay the widow, and the stranger, And murder the fatherless;
7 Comtudo dizem: O Senhor não o verá; nem para isso attenderá o Deus de Jacob.
And they say, “The LORD doth not see, The God of Jacob doth not regard!”
8 Attendei, ó brutaes d'entre o povo; e vós, loucos, quando sereis sabios?
Be instructed, ye most stupid of mankind! O when, ye fools, will ye be wise?
9 Aquelle que fez o ouvido não ouvirá? e o que formou o olho não verá?
He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see?
10 Aquelle que argúe as gentes não castigará? e o que ensina ao homem o conhecimento não saberá?
He that chastiseth nations, shall not he punish? He that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?
11 O Senhor conhece os pensamentos do homem, que são vaidade.
The LORD knoweth the thoughts of men, That they are vanity.
12 Bemaventurado é o homem aquem tu castigas, ó Senhor, e a quem ensinas a tua lei;
Happy the man, O LORD! whom thou correctest, Whom by thy teaching thou makest wise;
13 Para lhe dares descanço dos dias maus, até que se abra a cova para o impio.
To give him peace in the days of adversity, Until a pit be digged for the wicked!
14 Pois o Senhor não rejeitará o seu povo, nem desamparará a sua herança.
For the LORD will not forsake his people, Nor abandon his own inheritance.
15 Mas o juizo voltará á rectidão, e seguil-o-hão todos os rectos do coração.
For judgment shall return to justice, And all the upright in heart shall follow it.
16 Quem será por mim contra os malfeitores? quem se porá por mim contra os que obram a iniquidade?
Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand up for me against the evil-doers?
17 Se o Senhor não tivera ido em meu auxilio, a minha alma quasi que teria ficado no silencio.
If the LORD had not been my help, I had well nigh dwelt in the land of silence.
18 Quando eu disse: O meu pé vacilla; a tua benignidade, Senhor, me susteve.
When I think that my foot is slipping, Thy goodness, O LORD! holdeth me up.
19 Na multidão dos meus pensamentos dentro de mim, as tuas consolações recrearam a minha alma.
In the multitude of anxieties within me, Thy consolations revive my soul.
20 Porventura o throno d'iniquidade te acompanha, o qual forja o mal por uma lei?
Shall with thee be allied the throne of iniquity, Which deviseth mischief against law?
21 Elles se ajuntam contra a alma do justo, e condemnam o sangue innocente.
They band together against the life of the righteous, And condemn innocent blood.
22 Mas o Senhor é a minha defeza; e o meu Deus é a rocha do meu refugio.
But the LORD is my fortress, And my God the rock of my refuge.
23 E trará sobre elles a sua propria iniquidade; e os destruirá na sua propria malicia: o Senhor nosso Deus os destruirá.
He will bring upon them their own iniquity; Yea, through their own wickedness he will cut them off; Yea, the LORD, our God, will cut them off.
