Salmos 87

1 O seu fundamento está nos montes sanctos.

The city that Yahweh established is on his sacred hill.

2 O Senhor ama as portas de Sião, mais do que todas as habitações de Jacob.

He loves that city, Jerusalem, more than he loves any other city in Israel.

3 Coisas gloriosas se dizem de ti, ó cidade de Deus. (Selah)

[You people in] [APO] the city that God (owns/lives in), people say wonderful things about your city.

4 Farei menção de Rahab e de Babylonia áquelles que me conhecem: eis-que da Philisteia, e de Tyro, e da Ethiopia, se dirá: Este homem nasceu ali

[Some of those who know about God are the people of] Egypt and Babylonia, and also [the people of] Philistia and Tyre and Ethiopia; [some day they all] will say, “[Although I was not born in Jerusalem], [because I belong to Yahweh, it is as though] I was born there.”

5 E de Sião se dirá: Este e aquelle nasceu ali; e o mesmo Altissimo a estabelecerá.

And concerning Jerusalem, people will say [“It is as though] everyone was born there, and Almighty God will cause that city to remain strong/safe/secure.”

6 O Senhor contará na descripção dos povos que este homem nasceu ali. (Selah)

Yahweh will write a list of [the names of] the people of various groups [who belong to him], and he will say that [he considers them] all to be citizens of Jerusalem.

7 Assim como os cantores e tocadores de instrumentos estarão lá, todas as minhas fontes estão dentro de ti

They will all dance and sing, saying, “Jerusalem is the source of all our blessings.”
