Salmos 85
1 Abençoaste, Senhor, a tua terra: fizeste voltar o captiveiro de Jacob.
“For the leader of the music. A psalm of the sons of Korah.” O LORD! thou hast been favorable to thy land; Thou hast brought back the captives of Jacob;
2 Perdoaste a iniquidade do teu povo: cobriste todos os seus peccados. (Selah)
Thou didst forgive the iniquity of thy people, And cover all their sins! (Pause)
3 Fizeste cessar toda a tua indignação: desviaste-te do ardor da tua ira.
Thou didst take away all thy displeasure, And abate the fierceness of thy wrath.
4 Torna-nos a trazer, ó Deus da nossa salvação, e faze cessar a tua ira de sobre nós.
Restore us, O God of our salvation! And let thine anger towards us cease!
5 Acaso estarás sempre irado contra nós? ou estenderás a tua ira a todas as gerações?
Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? Wilt thou continue thy wrath from generation to generation?
6 Não tornarás a reviver-nos, para que o teu povo se alegre em ti?
Wilt thou not revive us again, That thy people may rejoice in thee?
7 Mostra-nos, Senhor, a tua misericordia, e concede-nos a tua salvação.
Show us thy compassion, O LORD! And grant us thy salvation!
8 Escutarei o que Deus, o Senhor, fallar; porque fallará de paz ao seu povo, e aos sanctos para que não voltem á loucura.
I will hear what God the LORD will speak: Truly he will speak peace to his people, and to his servants; Only let them not turn again to folly!
9 Certamente que a salvação está perto d'aquelles que o temem, para que a gloria habite na nossa terra.
Yea, his salvation is near to those who fear him, That glory may dwell in our land.
10 A misericordia e a verdade se encontraram: a justiça e a paz se beijaram.
Mercy and truth shall meet together, Righteousness and peace shall kiss each other;
11 A verdade brotará da terra, e a justiça olhará desde os céus.
Truth shall spring out of the earth; Righteousness shall look down from heaven.
12 Tambem o Senhor dará o que é bom, e a nossa terra dará o seu fructo.
Yea, Jehovah will give prosperity, And our land shall yield her increase.
13 A justiça irá adiante d'elle, e a porá no caminho das suas pisadas.
Righteousness shall go before him, And set us in the way of his steps.
