Salmos 62
1 A minha alma espera sómente em Deus: d'elle vem a minha salvação.
To the chief music-maker. After Jeduthun. A Psalm. Of David. My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my salvation.
2 Só elle é a minha rocha e a minha salvação; é a minha defeza; não serei grandemente abalado.
He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved.
3 Até quando maquinareis o mal contra um homem? sereis mortos todos vós, sereis como uma parede encurvada e um vallado bambaleante.
How long will you go on designing evil against a man? running against him as against a broken wall, which is on the point of falling?
4 Elles sómente consultam como o hão de derribar da sua excellencia: deleitam-se em mentiras; com a bocca bemdizem, mas nas suas entranhas maldizem (Selah)
Their only thought is to put him down from his place of honour; their delight is in deceit: blessing is in their mouths but cursing in their hearts. (Selah)
5 Ó minha alma, espera sómente em Deus, porque d'elle vem a minha esperança.
My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my hope.
6 Só elle é a minha rocha e a minha salvação; é a minha defeza; não serei abalado.
He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved.
7 Em Deus está a minha salvação e a minha gloria: a rocha da minha fortaleza, e o meu refugio estão em Deus.
In God is my salvation, and my glory; the Rock of my strength, and my safe place.
8 Confiae n'elle, ó povo, em todos os tempos; derramae perante elle o vosso coração; Deus é o nosso refugio (Selah)
Have faith in him at all times, you people; let your hearts go flowing out before him: God is our safe place. (Selah)
9 Certamente que os homens de classe baixa são vaidade, e os homens d'ordem elevada são mentira; pesados em balanças, elles juntos são mais leves do que a vaidade.
Truly men of low birth are nothing, and men of high position are not what they seem; if they are put in the scales together they are less than a breath.
10 Não confieis na oppressão, nem vos ensoberbeçaes na rapina; se as vossas riquezas augmentam, não ponhaes n'ellas o coração.
Have no faith in the rewards of evil-doing, or in profits wrongly made: if your wealth is increased, do not put your hopes on it.
11 Deus fallou uma vez; duas vezes tenho ouvido isto: que o poder pertence a Deus.
Once has God said, twice has it come to my ears, that power is God's:
12 A ti tambem, Senhor, pertence a misericordia; pois retribuirás a cada um segundo a sua obra.
And mercy, O Lord, is yours, for you give to every man the reward of his work.
