Salmos 53

1 Disse o nescio no seu coração: Não ha Deus. Teem-se corrompido, e commettido abominavel iniquidade: não ha ninguem que faça o bem.

To the chief Musician. On Mahalath: an instruction. Of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God! They have corrupted themselves, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

2 Deus olhou desde os céus para os filhos dos homens, para ver se havia algum que tivesse entendimento e buscasse a Deus.

God looked down from the heavens upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

3 Desviaram-se todos, e juntamente se fizeram immundos; não ha quem faça o bem, não, nem sequer um

Every one of them is gone back, they are together become corrupt: there is none that doeth good, not even one.

4 Acaso não teem conhecimento os que obram a iniquidade, os quaes comem o meu povo como se comessem pão? elles não invocaram a Deus.

Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, eating up my people [as] they eat bread? they call not upon God.

5 Ali se acharam em grande temor, onde não havia temor, pois Deus espalhou os ossos d'aquelle que te cercava; tu os confundiste, porque Deus os rejeitou.

There were they in great fear, where no fear was; for God scattereth the bones of him that encampeth against thee. Thou hast put [them] to shame, for God hath despised them.

6 Oh! se já de Sião viera a salvação de Israel! Quando Deus fizer voltar os captivos do seu povo, então se regozijará Jacob e se alegrará Israel

Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God turneth again the captivity of his people, Jacob shall be glad, Israel shall rejoice.
