Salmos 41

1 Bemaventurado é aquelle que attende ao pobre; o Senhor o livrará no dia do mal.

Unto the end, a psalm for David himself. Blessed is he that understandeth concerning the needy and the poor: the Lord will deliver him in the evil day.

2 O Senhor o livrará, e o conservará em vida; será abençoado na terra, e tu não o entregarás á vontade de seus inimigos.

The Lord preserve him and give him life, and make him blessed upon the earth: and deliver him not up to the will of his enemies.

3 O Senhor o sustentará no leito da enfermidade; tu farás toda a sua cama na doença.

The Lord help him on his bed of sorrow: thou hast turned all his couch in his sickness.

4 Dizia eu: Senhor, tem piedade de mim; sára a minha alma, porque pequei contra ti.

I said: O Lord, be thou merciful to me: heal my soul, for I have sinned against thee.

5 Os meus inimigos fallam mal de mim, dizendo: Quando morrerá elle, e perecerá o seu nome?

My enemies have spoken evils against me: when shall he die and his name perish?

6 E, se algum d'elles vem ver-me, falla coisas vãs; no seu coração amontoa a maldade; saindo para fóra, falla d'ella.

And if he came in to see me, he spoke vain things: his heart gathered together iniquity to itself. He went out and spoke to the same purpose.

7 Todos os que me aborrecem murmuram á uma contra mim; contra mim imaginam o mal, dizendo:

All my enemies whispered together against me: they devised evils to me.

8 Uma má doença se lhe tem apegado; e, agora que está deitado, não se levantará mais

They determined against me an unjust word: shall he that sleepeth rise again no more?

9 Até o meu proprio amigo intimo, em quem eu tanto confiava, que comia do meu pão, levantou contra mim o seu calcanhar.

For even the man of peace, in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, hath greatly supplanted me.

10 Porém tu, Senhor, tem piedade de mim, e levanta-me, para que eu lhes dê o pago.

But thou, O Lord, have mercy on me, and raise me up again: and I will requite them.

11 Por isto conheço eu que tu me favoreces: que o meu inimigo não triumpha de mim.

By this I know, that thou hast had a good will for me: because my enemy shall not rejoice over me.

12 Emquanto a mim, tu me sustentas na minha sinceridade, e me pozeste diante da tua face para sempre.

But thou hast upheld me by reason of my innocence: and hast established me in thy sight for ever.

13 Bemdito seja o Senhor Deus d'Israel, de seculo em seculo: Amen e Amen.

Blessed by the Lord the God of Israel from eternity to eternity. So be it. So be it.
