Salmos 38
1 A Senhor, não me reprehendas na tua ira, nem me castigues em teu furor.
A Melody of David. To bring to Remembrance. O Yahweh, do not, in thine anger, correct me, nor, in thy wrath, chastise me;
2 Porque as tuas frechas se cravaram em mim, e a tua mão sobre mim desceu.
For, thine arrows, have sunk down into me, and thy hand, presseth heavily upon me.
3 Não ha coisa sã na minha carne, por causa da tua colera; nem ha paz em meus ossos, por causa do meu peccado.
There is no soundness in my flesh, By reason of thine indignation, There is no peace in my bones, By reason of my sin;
4 Pois já as minhas iniquidades sobrepassam a minha cabeça: como carga pesada são de mais para as minhas forças.
For, mine iniquities, have passed over my head, Like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me:
5 As minhas chagas cheiram mal e estão corruptas, por causa da minha loucura.
My wounds are of bad odour—they have festered, by reason of my folly:
6 Estou encurvado, estou muito abatido, ando lamentando todo o dia.
I am bent, I am bowed down very low. All the day, have I gloomily walked;
7 Porque as minhas ilhargas estão cheias de ardor, e não ha coisa sã na minha carne.
For, my loins, are filled with inflammation, and there is no soundness in my flesh:
8 Estou fraco e mui quebrantado; tenho rugido pela inquietação do meu coração.
I am benumbed and crushed exceedingly, —I have cried aloud because of the groaning of my heart.
9 Senhor, diante de ti está todo o meu desejo, e o meu gemido não te é occulto.
O My Lord! before thee, is all my longing, and, my sighing, from thee, hath not been hid:
10 O meu coração dá voltas, a minha força me falta; emquanto á luz dos meus olhos, ella me deixou.
My heart, fluttereth, my strength hath forsaken me, and, as for the light of mine eyes, even they, are not with me:
11 Os meus amigos e os meus propinquos estão ao longe da minha chaga; e os meus parentes se pôem em distancia.
My lovers, and my friends, from before my stroke, stand aloof, —and, my near ones, far away, do stand:
12 Tambem os que buscam a minha vida me armam laços, e os que procuram o meu mal fallam coisas que damnificam, e imaginam astucias todo o dia.
Yea they who are seeking my life, have laid snares, and they who are asking my harm, have threatened engulfing ruin, And, deceitful things—all day long, do they mutter.
13 Mas eu, como surdo, não ouvia, e era como mudo que não abre a bocca.
But, I, as one deaf, will not hear, —and as one dumb, who will not open his mouth:
14 Assim eu sou como homem que não ouve, e em cuja bocca não ha reprovação.
Thus have I become as a man who cannot hear, in whose mouth are no arguments:
15 Porque em ti, Senhor, espero; tu, Senhor meu Deus, me ouvirás.
Because, for thee, O Yahweh, have I waited, Thou, wilt answer, O Adonay, my God!
16 Porque dizia eu: Ouve-me, para que se não alegrem de mim: quando escorrega o meu pé, elles se engrandecem contra mim.
For I said, Lest they rejoice over me! When my feet were tottering, against me, have they magnified themselves:
17 Porque estou prestes a coxear; a minha dôr está constantemente perante mim.
For, I, to halt, am ready, and, my pain, is before me continually;
18 Porque eu declararei a minha iniquidade; affligir-me-hei por causa do meu peccado.
For, mine iniquity, will I declare, I shall be anxious because of my sin;
19 Mas os meus inimigos estão vivos e são fortes, e os que sem causa me odeiam se engrandecem.
And, my foes, are alive—have become strong, —and multiplied are they who hate me for false cause:
20 Os que dão mal pelo bem são meus adversarios, porquanto eu sigo o que é bom.
Even they who are repaying evil for good, accuse me because I pursue the good.
21 Não me desampares, Senhor, meu Deus, não te alongues de mim.
Do not forsake me, O Yahweh, My God! be not far from me:
22 Apressa-te em meu auxilio, Senhor, minha salvação.
Make haste to help me, My Lord, my deliverance!
