Salmos 35

1 Pleiteia, Senhor, com aquelles que pleiteiam comigo: peleja contra os que pelejam contra mim.

A Psalm of David. Strive, O LORD, with them that strive with me; fight against them that fight against me.

2 Pega do escudo e da rodela, e levanta-te em minha ajuda.

Take hold of shield and buckler, and rise up to my help.

3 Tira da lança e obstroe o caminho aos que me perseguem; dize á minha alma: Eu sou a tua salvação.

Draw out also the spear, and the battle-axe, against them that pursue me; say unto my soul: 'I am Thy salvation.'

4 Sejam confundidos e envergonhados os que buscam a minha vida: voltem atraz e envergonhem-se os que contra mim tentam mal.

Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion that seek after my soul; let them be turned back and be abashed that devise my hurt.

5 Sejam como moinho perante o vento, o anjo do Senhor os faça fugir.

Let them be as chaff before the wind, the angel of the LORD thrusting them.

6 Seja o seu caminho tenebroso e escorregadio, e o anjo do Senhor os persiga.

Let their way be dark and slippery, the angel of the LORD pursuing them.

7 Porque sem causa encobriram de mim a rede na cova, a qual sem razão cavaram para a minha alma.

For without cause have they hid for me the pit, even their net, without cause have they digged for my soul.

8 Sobrevenha-lhe destruição sem o saber, e prenda-o a rede que occultou; caia elle n'essa mesma destruição.

Let destruction come upon him unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself; with destruction let him fall therein.

9 E a minha alma se alegrará no Senhor; alegrar-se-ha na sua salvação.

And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD; it shall rejoice in His salvation.

10 Todos os meus ossos dirão: Senhor, quem é como tu, que livras o pobre d'aquelle que é mais forte do que elle? sim, o pobre e o necessitado d'aquelle que o rouba.

All my bones shall say: 'LORD, who is like unto Thee, who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?'

11 Falsas testemunhas se levantaram: depozeram contra mim coisas que eu não sabia.

Unrighteous witnesses rise up; they ask me of things that I know not.

12 Tornaram-me o mal pelo bem, roubando a minha alma.

They repay me evil for good; bereavement is come to my soul.

13 Mas, quanto a mim, quando estavam enfermos, o meu vestido era o sacco; humilhava a minha alma com o jejum, e a minha oração voltava para o meu seio.

But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth, I afflicted my soul with fasting; and my prayer, may it return into mine own bosom.

14 Portava-me como se elle fôra meu irmão ou amigo; andava lamentando e muito encurvado, como quem chora por sua mãe.

I went about as though it had been my friend or my brother; I bowed down mournful, as one that mourneth for his mother.

15 Mas elles com a minha adversidade se alegravam e se congregavam: os objectos se congregavam contra mim, e eu não o sabia; rasgavam-me, e não cessavam.

But when I halt they rejoice, and gather themselves together; the abjects gather themselves together against me, and those whom I know not; they tear me, and cease not;

16 Como hypocritas zombadores nas festas, rangiam os dentes contra mim.

With the profanest mockeries of backbiting they gnash at me with their teeth.

17 Senhor, até quando verás isto? resgata a minha alma das suas assolações, e a minha predilecta dos leões,

Lord, how long wilt Thou look on? Rescue my soul from their destructions, mine only one from the lions.

18 Louvar-te-hei na grande congregação: entre muitissimo povo te celebrarei.

I will give Thee thanks in the great congregation; I will praise Thee among a numerous people.

19 Não se alegrem os meus inimigos de mim sem razão, nem acenem com os olhos aquelles que me aborrecem sem causa.

Let not them that are wrongfully mine enemies rejoice over me; neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.

20 Pois não fallam de paz; antes projectam enganar os quietos da terra.

For they speak not peace; but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.

21 Abrem a bocca de par em par contra mim, e dizem: Ólá, Ólá! os nossos olhos o viram.

Yea, they open their mouth wide against me; they say: 'Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.'

22 Tu, Senhor, o tens visto, não te cales: Senhor, não te alongues de mim;

Thou hast seen, O LORD; keep not silence; O Lord, be not far from me.

23 Desperta e acorda para o meu julgamento, para a minha causa, Deus meu, e Senhor meu.

Rouse Thee, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.

24 Julga-me segundo a tua justiça, Senhor Deus meu, e não deixes que se alegrem de mim.

Judge me, O LORD my God, according to Thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.

25 Não digam em seus corações: Eia, sus, alma nossa: não digam: Nós o havemos devorado.

Let them not say in their heart: 'Aha, we have our desire'; let them not say: 'We have swallowed him up.'

26 Envergonhem-se e confundam-se á uma os que se alegram com o meu mal; vistam-se de vergonha e de confusão os que se engrandecem contra mim.

Let them be ashamed and abashed together that rejoice at my hurt; let them be clothed with shame and confusion that magnify themselves against me.

27 Cantem e alegrem-se os que amam a minha justiça, e digam continuamente: O Senhor seja engrandecido, o qual ama a prosperidade do seu servo.

Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that delight in my righteousness; yea, let them say continually: 'Magnified be the LORD, who delighteth in the peace of His servant.'

28 E assim a minha lingua fallará da tua justiça e do teu louvor todo o dia.

And my tongue shall speak of Thy righteousness, and of Thy praise all the day.
