Salmos 33
1 Regozijae-vos no Senhor, vós, justos, pois aos rectos convem o louvor.
A psalm for David. Rejoice in the Lord, O ye just: praise becometh the upright.
2 Louvae ao Senhor com harpa, cantae a elle com psalterio de dez cordas.
Give praise to the Lord on the harp; sing to him with the psaltery, the instrument of ten strings.
3 Cantae-lhe um cantico novo: tocae bem e com jubilo.
Sing to him a new canticle, sing well unto him with a loud noise.
4 Porque a palavra do Senhor é recta, e todas as suas obras são fieis.
For the word of the Lord is right, and all his works are done with faithfulness.
5 Elle ama a justiça e o juizo: a terra está cheia da bondade do Senhor.
He loveth mercy and judgment; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.
6 Pela palavra do Senhor foram feitos os céus, e todo o exercito d'elles pelo espirito da sua bocca.
By the word of the Lord the heavens were established; and all the power of them by the spirit of his mouth:
7 Elle ajunta as aguas do mar como n'um montão; põe os abysmos em thesouros.
Gathering together the waters of the sea, as in a vessel; laying up the depths in storehouses.
8 Tema toda a terra ao Senhor; temam-n'o todos os moradores do mundo.
Let all the earth fear the Lord, and let all the inhabitants of the world be in awe of him.
9 Porque fallou, e foi feito: mandou, e logo appareceu.
For he spoke and they were made: he commanded and they were created.
10 O Senhor desfaz o conselho das nações, quebranta os intentos dos povos.
The Lord bringeth to naught the counsels of nations; and he rejecteth the devices of people, and casteth away the counsels of princes.
11 O conselho do Senhor permanece para sempre: os intentos do seu coração de geração em geração.
But the counsel of the Lord standeth for ever: the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
12 Bemaventurada é a nação cujo Deus é o Senhor, e o povo ao qual escolheu para sua herança.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord: the people whom he hath chosen for his inheritance.
13 O Senhor olha desde os céus e está vendo a todos os filhos dos homens.
The Lord hath looked from heaven: he hath beheld all the sons of men.
14 Do logar da sua habitação contempla todos os moradores da terra,
From his habitation which he hath prepared, he hath looked upon all that dwell on the earth.
15 Aquelle que forma o coração de todos elles, que contempla todas as suas obras.
He who hath made the hearts of every one of them: who understandeth all their works.
16 Não ha rei que se salve com a grandeza d'um exercito, nem o homem valente se livra pela muita força.
The king is not saved by a great army: nor shall the giant be saved by his own great strength.
17 O cavallo é fallaz para a segurança: não livra ninguem com a sua grande força.
Vain is the horse for safety: neither shall he be saved by the abundance of his strength.
18 Eis que os olhos do Senhor estão sobre os que o temem, sobre os que esperam na sua misericordia;
Behold the eyes of the Lord are on them that fear him: and on them that hope in his mercy.
19 Para lhes livrar as almas da morte, e para os conservar vivos na fome.
To deliver their souls from death; and feed them in famine.
20 A nossa alma espera no Senhor: elle é o nosso auxilio e o nosso escudo.
Our soul waiteth for the Lord: for he is our helper and protector.
21 Pois n'elle se alegra o nosso coração; porquanto temos confiado no seu sancto nome.
For in him our heart shall rejoice: and in his holy name we have trusted.
22 Seja a tua misericordia, Senhor, sobre nós, como em ti esperamos.
Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as we have hoped in thee.
