Salmos 20

1 O Senhor te oiça no dia da angustia, o nome do Deus de Jacob te proteja.

“For the leader of the music. A psalm of David.” May Jehovah hear thee in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend thee!

2 Envie-te soccorro desde o seu sanctuario, e te sustenha desde Sião.

May he send thee help from his sanctuary, And strengthen thee out of Zion!

3 Lembre-se de todas as tuas offertas, e acceite os teus holocaustos (Selah)

May he have regard to all thine offerings, And accept thy burnt sacrifice! (Pause)

4 Conceda-te conforme ao teu coração, e cumpra todo o teu conselho.

May he grant thee thy heart's desire, And fulfill all thy purposes!

5 Nós nos alegraremos pela tua salvação, e em nome do nosso Deus arvoraremos pendões; cumpra o Senhor todas as tuas petições.

We will rejoice in thy protection, And in the name of our God will we set up our banners, When Jehovah hath fulfilled all thy petitions.

6 Agora sei que o Senhor salva ao seu ungido: elle o ouvirá desde o seu sancto céu, com a força salvadora da sua mão direita.

Now I know that Jehovah helpeth his anointed; That he heareth him from his holy heaven, And aideth him with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Uns confiam em carros e outros em cavallos, mas nós faremos menção do nome do Senhor nosso Deus.

Some glory in chariots, and some in horses, But we in the name of Jehovah our God.

8 Uns encurvam-se e caem, mas nós nos levantamos e estamos de pé.

They stumble and fall, But we stand and are erect.

9 Salva-nos, Senhor, oiça-nos o Rei quando clamarmos.

The LORD save the king! May he hear us when we call!
