Salmos 2
1 Porque se amotinam as gentes, e os povos imaginam a vaidade?
Why do the heathen rage, And the nations meditate a vain thing?
2 Os reis da terra se levantam, e os principes consultam juntamente contra o Senhor e contra o seu ungido, dizendo:
Why do the kings of the earth rise up, And the princes combine together, Against Jehovah, and against his anointed king?
3 Rompamos as suas ataduras, e sacudamos de nós as suas cordas.
“Let us break their bonds asunder; Let us cast away from us their fetters!”
4 Aquelle que habita nos céus se rirá: o Senhor zombará d'elles.
He that sitteth in heaven will laugh; The Lord will have them in derision.
5 Então lhes fallará na sua ira, e no seu furor os turbará.
Then shall he speak to them in his wrath, And confound them in his hot displeasure.
6 Eu porém ungi o meu Rei sobre o meu sancto monte de Sião.
“I myself have anointed my king, Upon Zion, my holy hill!”
7 Recitarei o decreto: o Senhor me disse: Tu és meu Filho, eu hoje te gerei.
I will declare the decree of Jehovah: He hath said to me, “Thou art my son; This day I have begotten thee.
8 Pede-me, e eu te darei as nações por herança, e os fins da terra por tua possessão.
Ask of me, and I will give thee the nations for thine inheritance, And the ends of the earth for thy possession.
9 Tu os esmigalharás com uma vara de ferro; tu os despedaçarás como a um vaso de oleiro.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.”
10 Agora pois, ó reis, sêde prudentes; deixae-vos instruir, juizes da terra.
Be wise, therefore, O ye kings! Be admonished, ye rulers of the earth!
11 Servi ao Senhor com temor, e alegrae-vos com tremor.
Be subject to Jehovah with awe, And fear with trembling!
12 Beijae ao Filho, para que se não ire, e pereçaes no caminho, quando em breve se accender a sua ira: bemaventurados todos aquelles que n'elle confiam.
Kiss the son, lest He be angry, and ye perish in your way; For soon shall his wrath be kindled. Happy are all they who seek refuge in him.
