Salmos 19
1 Os céus declararam a gloria de Deus e o firmamento annuncia a obra das suas mãos.
For the chief musician. A psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the skies make his handiwork known!
2 Um dia faz declaração a outro dia, e uma noite mostra sabedoria a outra noite.
Day after day speech pours out; night after night it reveals knowledge.
3 Não ha linguagem nem falla onde se não oiçam as suas vozes.
There is no speech or spoken words; their voice is not heard.
4 A sua linha se estende por toda a terra, e as suas palavras até ao fim do mundo. N'elles poz uma tenda para o sol,
Yet their words go out over all the earth, and their speech to the end of the world. He has pitched a tent for the sun among them.
5 O qual é como um noivo que sae do seu thalamo, e se alegra como um heroe, a correr o seu caminho.
The sun is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber and like a strong man who rejoices when he runs his race.
6 A sua saida é desde uma extremidade dos céus, e o seu curso até ás outras extremidades d'elles, e nada se esconde ao seu calor.
The sun rises from the one horizon and crosses the sky to the other; nothing escapes its heat.
7 A lei do Senhor é perfeita, e refrigera a alma: o testemunho do Senhor é fiel, e dá sabedoria aos simplices.
The law of Yahweh is perfect, restoring the soul; the testimony of Yahweh is reliable, making the simple wise.
8 Os preceitos do Senhor são rectos e alegram o coração: o mandamento do Senhor é puro, e allumia os olhos
The instructions of Yahweh are right, making the heart glad; the commandment of Yahweh is pure, bringing light to the eyes.
9 O temor do Senhor é limpo, e permanece eternamente: os juízos do Senhor são verdadeiros e justos juntamente.
The fear of Yahweh is pure, enduring forever; the righteous decrees of Yahweh are true and altogether right!
10 Mais desejaveis são do que o oiro, sim, do que muito oiro fino; e mais doces do que o mel e o licor dos favos.
They are of greater value than gold, even more than much fine gold; they are sweeter than honey and the dripping honey from the honeycomb.
11 Tambem por elles é admoestado o teu servo; e em os guardar ha grande recompensa.
Yes, by them your servant is warned; in obeying them there is great reward.
12 Quem pode entender os seus erros? expurga-me tu dos que me são occultos.
Who can discern all his own errors? Cleanse me from hidden faults.
13 Tambem das soberbas guarda o teu servo, para que se não assenhoreiem de mim: então serei sincero, e ficarei limpo de grande transgressão.
Keep your servant also from arrogant sins; let them not rule over me. Then I will be perfect, and I will be innocent from many transgressions.
14 Sejam agradaveis as palavras da minha bocca e a meditação do meu coração perante a tua face, Senhor, Rocha minha e Libertador meu
May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Yahweh, my rock and my redeemer.
