1 Levantarei os meus olhos para os montes, de onde vem a minha salvação.

A song for pilgrims going up to Jerusalem. I look to the hills—but is that where my help comes from?

2 O meu soccorro vem do Senhor, que fez o céu e a terra.

My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

3 Não deixará vacillar o teu pé: aquelle que te guarda não tosquenejará.

He will not let you fall; he who watches over you won't fall asleep.

4 Eis-que não tosquenejará nem dormirá o guarda d'Israel.

In fact he who watches over you doesn't take naps or fall asleep.

5 O Senhor é quem te guarda: o Senhor é a tua sombra á tua direita.

The Lord keeps watch over you; the Lord protects you; he stands right beside you.

6 O sol não te molestará de dia nem a lua de noite.

The sun won't hurt you during the day, nor the moon at night.

7 O Senhor te guardará de todo o mal: guardará a tua alma.

The Lord will protect you from all kinds of evil; he will keep you safe and sound.

8 O Senhor guardará a tua entrada e a tua saida, desde agora e para sempre.

The Lord will look after you when you leave, and when you return, now and forever.
