Provérbios 14
1 Toda a mulher sabia edifica a sua casa: mas a tola a derriba com as suas mãos.
Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.
2 O que anda na sua sinceridade teme ao Senhor, mas o que se desvia de seus caminhos o despreza.
He who walks in his uprightness fears Adonai, but he who is perverse in his ways despises him.
3 Na bocca do tolo está a vara da soberba, mas os labios dos sabios os conservam.
The fool’s talk brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them.
4 Não havendo bois, a mangedoura está limpa, mas pela força do boi ha abundancia de colheitas.
Where no oxen are, the crib is clean, but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
5 A testemunha verdadeira não mentirá, mas a testemunha falsa se desboca em mentiras.
A truthful witness will not lie, but a false witness pours out lies.
6 O escarnecedor busca sabedoria, e nenhuma acha, mas para o prudente o conhecimento é facil.
A scoffer seeks wisdom, and does not find it, but knowledge comes easily to a discerning person.
7 Vae-te de diante do homem insensato, porque n'elle não divisarás os labios do conhecimento.
Stay away from a foolish man, for you won’t find knowledge on his lips.
8 A sabedoria do prudente é entender o seu caminho, mas a estulticia dos tolos é engano.
The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.
9 Os loucos zombam do peccado, mas entre os rectos ha benevolencia.
Fools mock at making atonement for sins, but among the upright there is good will.
10 O coração conhece a sua propria amargura, e o estranho não se entremetterá na sua alegria.
The heart knows its own bitterness and joy; he will not share these with a stranger.
11 A casa dos impios se desfará, mas a tenda dos rectos florescerá.
The house of the wicked will be overthrown, but the tent of the upright will flourish.
12 Ha caminho que ao homem parece direito, mas o fim d'elle são os caminhos da morte.
There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
13 Até no riso terá dôr o coração, e o fim da alegria é tristeza.
Even in laughter the heart may be sorrowful, and mirth may end in heaviness.
14 Dos seus caminhos se fartará o que declina no coração, mas o homem bom se fartará de si mesmo.
The unfaithful will be repaid for his own ways; likewise a good man will be rewarded for his ways.
15 O simples dá credito a cada palavra, mas o prudente attenta para os seus passos.
A simple man believes everything, but the prudent man carefully considers his ways.
16 O sabio teme, e desvia-se do mal, mas o tolo se encoleriza, e dá-se por seguro.
A wise man fears, and shuns evil, but the fool is hot headed and reckless.
17 O que presto se indigna, fará doidices, e o homem de más imaginações será aborrecido.
He who is quick to become angry will commit folly, and a crafty man is hated.
18 Os simplices herdarão a estulticia, mas os prudentes se coroarão de conhecimento.
The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19 Os máus se inclinaram diante dos bons, e os impios diante das portas do justo.
The evil bow down before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the upright.
20 O pobre é aborrecido até do companheiro, porém os amigos dos ricos são muitos.
The poor person is shunned even by his own neighbor, but the rich person has many 'ahav ·affectionate lovers, friends·.
21 O que despreza ao seu companheiro pecca, mas o que se compadece dos humildes é bemaventurado.
He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who has mercy on the poor.
22 Porventura não erram os que obram o mal? mas beneficencia e fidelidade serão para os que obram o bem.
Don’t they go astray who plot evil? But cheshed ·loving-kindness· and faithfulness belong to those who plan good.
23 Em todo o trabalho proveito ha, mas a palavra dos labios só encaminha á pobreza.
In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty.
24 A corôa dos sabios é a sua riqueza, a estulticia dos tolos é só estulticia.
The crown of the wise is their riches, but the folly of fools crowns them with folly.
25 A testemunha verdadeira livra as almas, mas o que se desboca em mentiras é enganador.
A truthful witness saves souls, but a false witness is deceitful.
26 No temor do Senhor ha firme confiança, e elle será um refugio para seus filhos.
In the fear of Adonai is a secure fortress, and he will be a refuge for his children.
27 O temor do Senhor é uma fonte de vida, para se desviarem dos laços da morte.
The fear of Adonai is a fountain of life, turning people from the snares of death.
28 Na multidão do povo está a magnificencia do rei, mas na falta do povo a perturbação do principe.
In the multitude of people is the king’s glory, but in the lack of people is the destruction of the prince.
29 O longanimo é grande em entendimento, mas o que é de espirito impaciente assignala a sua loucura.
He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a quick temper displays folly.
30 O coração com saude é a vida da carne, mas a inveja é a podridão dos ossos.
The life of the body is a heart at peace, but envy rots the bones.
31 O que opprime ao pobre insulta áquelle que o creou, mas o que se compadece do necessitado o honra.
He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who honors him shows mercy to the needy.
32 Pela sua malicia será lançado fóra o impio, mas o justo até na sua morte tem confiança.
The wicked is brought down in his calamity, but in death, the upright has a refuge.
33 No coração do prudente repousa a sabedoria, mas o que ha no interior dos tolos se conhece.
Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding, and is even made known in the inward part of fools.
34 A justiça exalta ao povo, mas o peccado é o opprobrio das nações.
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a cheshed ·disgrace· to any people.
35 O Rei tem seu contentamento no servo prudente, mas sobre o que envergonha cairá o seu furor.
The king’s favor is toward a servant who deals wisely, but his wrath is toward one who causes shame.
