Obadias 1
1 Visão de Obadias: Assim diz o Senhor Jehovah a Edom: Temos ouvido a prégação do Senhor, e foi enviado entre as nações um embaixador; levantae-vos, e levantemo-nos contra ella para a guerra.
Thus said Lord YHWH to Edom (We have heard a report from YHWH, And an ambassador among nations was sent, “Rise, indeed, let us rise against her for battle”):
2 Eis que te fiz pequeno entre as nações; tu és mui desprezado.
“Behold, I have made you little among nations, You [are] despised exceedingly.
3 A soberba do teu coração te enganou, como o que habita nas fendas das rochas, na sua alta morada, que diz no seu coração: Quem me derribará em terra?
The pride of your heart has lifted you up, O dweller in clefts of a rock (A high place [is] his habitation, He is saying in his heart: Who brings me down [to] earth?)
4 Se te elevares como aguia, e pozeres o teu ninho entre as estrellas, d'ali te derribarei, diz o Senhor.
If you go up high as an eagle, And if you set your nest between stars, From there I bring you down,” A declaration of YHWH.
5 Se viessem a ti ladrões, ou roubadores de noite (como és destruido!), porventura não furtariam o que lhes bastasse? se a ti viessem os vindimadores, porventura não deixariam rabisco?
“If thieves have come in to you, If spoilers of the night, How have you been cut off! Do they not steal their sufficiency? If gatherers have come in to you, Do they not leave gleanings?
6 Como foram esquadrinhadas as coisas de Esaú! como foram investigados os seus esconderijos!
How has Esau been searched out! His hidden things have flowed out,
7 Todos os teus confederados te levaram para fóra até aos limites: os que gozam da tua paz te enganaram, prevaleceram contra ti; os que comem o teu pão pozeram debaixo de ti uma armadilha: não ha n'elle entendimento.
All your allies have sent you to the border, Forgotten you, prevailed over you, have your friends, They make your bread a snare under you, There is no understanding in him!
8 Porventura não acontecerá n'aquelle dia, diz o Senhor, que farei perecer os sabios de Edom, e o entendimento da montanha de Esaú?
Is it not in that day,” a declaration of YHWH, “That I have destroyed the wise out of Edom, And understanding out of the mountain of Esau?
9 E os teus valentes, ó Teman, estarão atemorisados, para que da montanha de Esaú seja cada um exterminado pela matança.
And your mighty ones have been broken down, O Teman, So that everyone of the mountain of Esau is cut off.
10 Por causa da violencia feita a teu irmão Jacob, cobrir-te-ha a confusão, e serás exterminado para sempre.
For slaughter, for violence [to] your brother Jacob, Shame covers you, And you have been cut off for all time.
11 No dia em que o confrontaste, no dia em que os forasteiros levavam captivo o seu exercito, e os estranhos entravam pelas suas portas, e lançavam sortes sobre Jerusalem, tu eras tambem como um d'elles.
In the day of your standing aloof from the opposite [side], In the day of strangers taking his force captive, And foreigners have entered his gates, And have cast a lot for Jerusalem, Even you [are] as one of them!
12 Então tu não devias ver satisfeito o dia de teu irmão, no dia do seu desterro; nem alegrar-te sobre os filhos de Judah, no dia da sua ruina; nem alargar a tua bocca, no dia da angustia;
And—you do not look on the day of your brother, On the day of his alienation, Nor do you rejoice over sons of Judah, In the day of their destruction, Nor make your mouth great in a day of distress.
13 Nem entrar pela porta do meu povo, no dia da sua calamidade; nem tão pouco devias ver satisfeito o seu mal, no dia da sua calamidade; nem estender as tuas mãos contra o seu exercito, no dia da sua calamidade;
Nor come into a gate of My people in a day of their calamity, Nor look, even you, on its misfortune in a day of its calamity, Nor send forth against its force in a day of its calamity,
14 Nem parar nas encruzilhadas, para lhe exterminares os que escapassem: nem entregar os que lhe restassem, no dia da angustia.
Nor stand by the breach to cut off its escaped, Nor deliver up its remnant in a day of distress.
15 Porque o dia do Senhor está perto, sobre todas as nações: como tu fizeste, assim se fará comtigo: a tua recompensa tornará sobre a tua cabeça.
For near [is] the Day of YHWH, on all the nations, As you have done, it is done to you, Your deed turns back on your own head.
16 Porque, como vós bebestes no monte da minha sanctidade, beberão tambem de continuo todas as nações: beberão, e engulirão, e serão como se nunca fossem
For—as you have drunk on My holy mountain, All the nations drink continually, And they have drunk and have swallowed, And they have been as [if] they have not been.
17 Porém no monte de Sião haverá livramento; e elle será sanctidade; e os da casa de Jacob possuirão as suas herdades.
And in Mount Zion there is an escape, And it has been holy, And the house of Jacob has possessed their possessions.
18 E a casa de Jacob será fogo, e a casa de José chamma, e a casa de Esaú palha; e se accenderão contra elles, e os consumirão; e ninguem mais restará da casa de Esaú, porque o Senhor o fallou
And the house of Jacob has been a fire, And the house of Joseph a flame, And the house of Esau for stubble, And they have burned among them, And they have consumed them, And there is not a remnant to the house of Esau,” For YHWH has spoken.
19 E os do sul possuirão a montanha de Esaú, e os das planicies os philisteos: possuirão tambem os campos de Ephraim, e os campos de Samaria; e Benjamin a Gilead.
And they have possessed the south with the mountain of Esau, And the low country with the Philistines, And they have possessed the field of Ephraim, And the field of Samaria, And Benjamin with Gilead.
20 E os captivos d'este exercito, dos filhos de Israel, o que era dos cananitas, até Zarephath; e os captivos de Jerusalem, o que está em Sepharad, possuirão as cidades do sul.
And the expulsion of this force of the sons of Israel, That [is with] the Canaanites to Zarephat, And the expulsion of Jerusalem that [is] with the Sepharad, Possess the cities of the south.
21 E levantar-se-hão salvadores no monte Sião, para julgarem a montanha de Esaú; e o reino será do Senhor.
And saviors have gone up on Mount Zion, To judge the mountain of Esau, And the kingdom has been to YHWH!
