Malaquias 2
1 Agora pois, ó sacerdotes, este mandamento vos toca a vós.
And now, O ye Priests, this commandement is for you.
2 Se o não ouvirdes, e se não propozerdes no coração, dar honra ao meu nome, diz o Senhor dos Exercitos, enviarei a maldição contra vós, e amaldiçoarei as vossas bençãos; e tambem já tenho maldito a cada qual d'ellas, porque vós não pondes isso no coração.
If yee will not heare it, nor consider it in your heart, to giue glory vnto my Name, sayth the Lord of hostes, I will euen sende a curse vpon you, and will curse your blessings: yea, I haue cursed them alreadie, because yee doe not consider it in your heart.
3 Eis que vos corromperei a semente, e espalharei esterco sobre os vossos rostos, o esterco das vossas festas; e com elles sereis tirados.
Behold, I wil corrupt your seede, and cast dongue vpon your faces, euen the dongue of your solemne feastes, and you shall be like vnto it.
4 Então sabereis que eu vos enviei este mandamento, para que o meu concerto seja com Levi, diz o Senhor dos Exercitos.
And yee shall know, that I haue sent this commandement vnto you, that my couenant, which I made with Leui, might stand, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
5 Meu concerto com elle foi a vida e a paz, e eu lh'as dei para temor, e me temeu, e assombrou-se por causa do meu nome.
My couenant was with him of life and peace, and I gaue him feare, and he feared mee, and was afraid before my Name.
6 A lei da verdade esteve na sua bocca, e a iniquidade não se achou nos seus labios: andou comigo em paz e em rectidão, e converteu a muitos da iniquidade.
The lawe of trueth was in his mouth, and there was no iniquitie founde in his lippes: hee walked with me in peace and equitie, and did turne many away from iniquitie.
7 Porque os labios do sacerdote guardarão a sciencia, e da sua bocca buscarão a lei, porque elle é o anjo do Senhor dos Exercitos.
For the Priestes lippes shoulde preserue knowledge, and they shoulde seeke the Lawe at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of hostes.
8 Mas vós vos desviastes do caminho, a muitos fizestes tropeçar na lei: corrompestes o concerto de Levi, diz o Senhor dos Exercitos.
But yee are gone out of the way: yee haue caused many to fall by the Lawe: yee haue broken the couenant of Leui, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
9 Por isso tambem eu vos fiz despreziveis, e indignos diante de todo o povo, visto que não guardaes os meus caminhos, mas acceitaes pessoas na lei.
Therefore haue I also made you to be despised, and vile before all the people, because yee kept not my wayes, but haue beene partiall in the Lawe.
10 Não temos nós todos um mesmo Pae? não nos creou um mesmo Deus? porque seremos desleaes cada um com seu irmão, profanando o concerto de nossos paes?
Haue we not all one father? hath not one God made vs? why doe we transgresse euery one against his brother, and breake the couenant of our fathers?
11 Judah foi desleal, e abominação se obrou em Israel e em Jerusalem; porque Judah profana a sanctidade do Senhor, a qual ama, e se casou com a filha de deus estranho.
Iudah hath transgressed, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Ierusalem: for Iudah hath defiled the holinesse of the Lord, which hee loued, and hath maried the daughter of a strange God.
12 O Senhor destruirá das tendas de Jacob o homem que fizer isto, o que vela, e o que responde, e o que offerece presente ao Senhor dos Exercitos.
The Lord will cut off the man that doeth this: both the master and the seruaunt out of the Tabernacle of Iaacob, and him that offereth an offering vnto the Lord of hostes.
13 Tambem fazeis esta segunda coisa: cobris o altar do Senhor de lagrimas, de choros e de gemidos; de sorte que elle não olha mais para o presente, nem o acceitará com prazer da vossa mão.
And this haue ye done againe, and couered the altar of the Lord with teares, with weeping and with mourning: because the offering is no more regarded, neither receiued acceptably at your handes.
14 E dizeis: Porque? porque o Senhor foi testemunha entre ti e a mulher da tua mocidade, contra a qual tu foste desleal, sendo ella a tua companheira, e a mulher do teu concerto.
Yet yee say, Wherein? Because the Lord hath beene witnesse betweene thee and the wife of thy youth, against whome thou hast transgressed: yet is shee thy companion, and the wife of thy couenant.
15 E não fez elle sómente um? sobejando-lhe espirito? e porque sómente este um? buscava uma semente de Deus: portanto guardae-vos em vosso espirito, e contra a mulher da vossa mocidade nenhum seja desleal.
And did not hee make one? yet had hee abundance of spirit: and wherefore one? because he sought a godly seede: therefore keepe your selues in your spirit, and let none trespasse against the wife of his youth.
16 Porque o Senhor Deus de Israel diz que aborrece o repudio, e aquelle que encobre a violencia com o seu vestido, diz o Senhor dos Exercitos: portanto guardae-vos em vosso espirito, e não sejaes desleaes.
If thou hatest her, put her away, sayeth the Lord God of Israel, yet he couereth the iniurie vnder his garment, saieth the Lord of hosts: therefore keepe your selues in your spirite, and transgresse not.
17 Enfadaes ao Senhor com vossas palavras: e ainda dizeis: Em que o enfadamos? N'isto que dizeis: Qualquer que faz mal é bom aos olhos do Senhor, e n'estes taes é que elle se agrada, ou, onde está o Deus do juizo?
Yee haue wearied the Lord with your woordes: yet yee say, Wherein haue we wearied him? When ye say, Euery one that doeth euill, is good in the sight of the Lord, and he deliteth in them. Or where is the God of iudgement?
