Lucas 12
1 Ajuntando-se entretanto muitos milhares de pessoas, de sorte que se atropellavam uns aos outros, começou a dizer aos seus discipulos: Acautelae-vos primeiramente do fermento dos phariseos, que é a hypocrisia.
Amongst which things, when the ten thousands of the multitude were gathered together, so that they were treading one upon another, he began to be saying, unto his disciples, first—Be keeping yourselves free from the leaven of the Pharisees, the which is, hypocrisy.
2 Mas nada ha encoberto que não haja de ser descoberto; nem occulto, que não haja de ser sabido.
But, nothing, hath been, covered up, which shall not be uncovered, and hidden, which shall not be made known.
3 Porquanto tudo o que em trevas dissestes á luz será ouvido; e o que fallastes ao ouvido no gabinete sobre os telhados será apregoado.
Because, as many things as, in the darkness, ye have said, in the light, shall be heard; and, what to the ear ye spake, in the chambers, shall be proclaimed on the housetops.
4 E digo-vos, amigos meus; Não temaes os que matam o corpo, e depois não teem mais que fazer.
And I say unto you, my friends—Do not be put in fear of them who kill the body, and, after these things, have nothing more uncommon which they can do.
5 Mas eu vos mostrarei a quem deveis temer; temei aquelle que, depois de matar, tem poder para lançar no inferno; sim, vos digo, a esse temei. (Geenna g1067)
But I will suggest to you, whom ye should fear—Fear him who, after killing, hath authority to cast into gehenna, —Yea, I say unto you—Him, fear ye. (Geenna g1067)
6 Não se vendem cinco passarinhos por dois ceitis? E nenhum d'elles está esquecido diante de Deus.
Are not, five sparrows, sold for two farthings? and, not one from among them, hath been forgotten before God.
7 E até os cabellos da vossa cabeça estão todos contados. Não temaes pois; mais valeis vós do que muitos passarinhos.
But, even the hairs of your head, have all been numbered: Be not afraid: many sparrows, ye excel.
8 E digo-vos que todo aquelle que me confessar diante dos homens, tambem o Filho do homem o confessará diante dos anjos de Deus.
And I say unto you—Whosoever shall confess me before men, even the Son of Man, will confess him, before the messengers of God;
9 Mas quem me negar diante dos homens será negado diante dos anjos de Deus.
But, he who denied me before men, shall be denied before the messengers of God.
10 E a todo aquelle que disser uma palavra contra o Filho do homem ser-lhe-ha perdoada, mas ao que blasphemar contra o Espirito Sancto não lhe será perdoado.
And, whosoever shall say a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but, unto him who, against the Holy Spirit, speaketh profanely, it shall not be forgiven.
11 E, quando vos conduzirem ás synagogas, aos magistrados e potestades, não estejaes solicitos de como ou do que haveis de responder nem do que haveis de fallar.
But, whensoever they shall be bringing you in before the synagogues, and the rulers, and the authorities, do not be anxious how, [or what] ye shall answer, or what ye shall say;
12 Porque na mesma hora vos ensinará o Espirito Sancto o que vos convenha fallar.
For, the Holy Spirit, shall teach you, in that very hour, what ye ought to say.
13 E disse-lhe um da multidão: Mestre, dize a meu irmão que reparta comigo a herança.
And one from amongst the multitude said unto him—Teacher! bid my brother divide with me the inheritance.
14 Mas elle lhe disse: Homem, quem me poz a mim por juiz ou repartidor entre vós?
But, he, said unto him—Man! who hath appointed me a judge or divider over you?
15 E disse-lhes: Acautelae-vos e guardae-vos da avareza; porque a vida de qualquer não consiste na abundancia dos bens que possue.
And he said unto them—Mind and be guarding yourselves from all covetousness; for not, in one’s abundance, doth his life spring out of his possessions.
16 E propoz-lhes uma parabola, dizendo: A herdade d'um homem rico tinha produzido com abundancia;
And he spake a parable unto them, saying—A certain rich man’s estate, bare well.
17 E arrazoava elle entre si, dizendo: Que farei? Não tenho onde recolher os meus fructos.
And he began to deliberate within himself, saying—What shall I do? because I have not where I can gather my fruits.
18 E disse: Farei isto: Derribarei os meus celleiros, e edificarei outros maiores, e ali recolherei todas as minhas novidades e os meus bens;
And he said—This, will I do, —I will pull down my barns, and, greater ones, build, and gather, there, all my wheat and good things;
19 E direi á minha alma: Alma, tens em deposito muitos bens para muitos annos: descança, come, bebe, e folga.
and will say to my soul—Soul! thou hast many good things [lying by for many years: be taking thy rest, eat, drink, ] be making merry!
20 Porém Deus lhe disse: Louco, esta noite te pedirão a tua alma; e o que tens preparado para quem será?
But God said unto him—Simple one! on this very night, they are asking, thy soul, from thee; The things, then, which thou hast prepared, whose shall they be?
21 Assim é o que para si ajunta thesouros, e não é rico para com Deus.
[So, is he that is laying up treasure for himself, and is not rich, towards God.]
22 E disse aos seus discipulos: Portanto vos digo: Não estejaes solicitos pela vossa vida, no que comereis, nem pelo corpo, no que vestireis.
And he said unto his disciples—For this cause, I say unto you, —Be not anxious for the life, what ye shall eat, nor yet for [your] body, what ye shall put on;
23 Mais é a vida do que o sustento, e o corpo mais do que o vestido.
For, the life, is more, than the food, and, the body, than, the clothing.
24 Considerae os corvos, que nem semeiam, nem segam, nem teem dispensa nem celleiro, e Deus os alimenta: quanto mais valeis vós do que as aves?
Consider well the ravens—That they sow nor, neither do they reap, which have neither chamber nor barn, —and, God, feedeth, them! By how much do, ye, excel, the birds?
25 E qual de vós, sendo solicito, pode accrescentar um covado á sua estatura?
And, who from among you, though anxious, can, unto his stature, add a cubit?
26 Pois, se nem ainda podeis fazer as coisas minimas, porque estaes solicitos pelo mais?
If then, not even the least thing, ye can do, why, concerning the rest, are ye anxious?
27 Considerae os lirios, como elles crescem; não trabalham, nem fiam; e digo-vos que nem ainda Salomão, em toda a sua gloria, se vestiu como um d'elles.
Consider well the lilies, how they grow: they toil not, neither do they spin, and yet I say unto you—Not even Solomon, in all his glory, was arrayed like one of these.
28 E, se Deus assim veste a herva que hoje está no campo, e ámanhã é lançada no forno, quanto mais a vós, homens de pouca fé?
But, if God thus adorneth, the grass, which is, in a field, to-day, and, to-morrow, into an oven, is cast, how much rather you, O little-of-faith?
29 Vós pois não pergunteis que haveis de comer, ou que haveis de beber, e não andeis inquietos.
Ye, therefore, be not seeking what ye shall eat and what ye shall drink, and be not held in suspense;
30 Porque as gentes do mundo buscam todas essas coisas; mas vosso Pae sabe que haveis mister d'ellas.
For, after all these things, do, the nations of the world, seek, —but, your Father, knoweth that ye need these things.
31 Buscae antes o reino de Deus, e todas estas coisas vos serão accrescentadas.
Notwithstanding, be seeking his kingdom, —and, these things, shall be added unto you.
32 Não temas, ó pequeno rebanho, porque a vosso Pae agradou dar-vos o reino.
Be not afraid, the dear little flock! for your Father delighteth to give you, the kingdom.
33 Vendei o que tendes, e dae esmola. Fazei para vós bolsas que não se envelheçam; thesouro nos céus que nunca acabe, aonde não chega ladrão, e a traça não roe.
Sell your possessions, and give alms, make for yourselves purses that wax not old, —treasure unfailing, in the heavens, where, thief, doth not draw near, and, moth, doth not spoil.
34 Porque, onde estiver o vosso thesouro, ali estará tambem o vosso coração.
For, where your treasure is, there, will your heart he also.
35 Estejam cingidos os vossos lombos, e accesas as vossas candeias.
Let your loins be girded, and your lamps burning,
36 E sêde vós similhantes aos homens que esperam a seu senhor, quando houver de voltar das bodas, para que, quando vier, e bater, logo possam abrir-lhe.
And, ye yourselves, like unto men awaiting their own lord, once he may break up out of the marriage-feast, —that, when he cometh and knocketh, straightway, they may open unto him.
37 Bemaventurados aquelles servos, os quaes, quando o Senhor vier, os achar vigiando! Em verdade vos digo que se cingirá, e os fará assentar á mesa, e, chegando-se, os servirá.
Happy those servants, whom the lord, when he cometh, shall find watching! Verily, I say unto you—he will gird himself, and make them recline, and, coming near, will minister unto them.
38 E, se vier na segunda vigilia, e se vier na terceira vigilia, e os achar assim, bemaventurados são os taes servos.
And, if, in the second, or if, in the third, watch, he come and find, thus, happy, are, they!
39 Sabei, porém, isto, que, se o pae de familia soubesse a que hora, havia de vir o ladrão, vigiaria, e não deixaria minar a sua casa.
But, of this, be taking note—Had the householder known, in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not suffered his house, to be digged through.
40 Portanto, estae vós tambem apercebidos; porque virá o Filho do homem a hora que não imaginaes.
Ye, therefore, be getting ready, because, in what hour ye are not thinking, The Son of Man cometh!
41 E disse-lhe Pedro: Senhor, dizes essa parabola a nós, ou tambem a todos?
But Peter said—Lord! unto us, this parable, speakest thou? or, even unto all?
42 E disse o Senhor: Qual é pois o mordomo fiel e prudente, a quem o senhor poz sobre os seus servos, para lhes dar a tempo a ração?
And the Lord said—Who then is the faithful steward, the prudent one, whom the lord will appoint over his body of attendants, to be giving, in due season, the measured allowance of wheat?
43 Bemaventurado aquelle servo, o qual o senhor, quando vier, achar fazendo assim.
Happy, that servant, whom the lord, when he cometh shall find doing, thus!
44 Em verdade vos digo que sobre todos os seus bens o porá.
Of a truth, I say unto you—Over all his possessions, will he appoint him.
45 Mas, se aquelle servo disser em seu coração: O meu senhor tarda em vir; e começar a espancar os creados e creadas, e a comer, e a beber, e a embriagar-se,
But, if that servant should say in his heart—My lord delayeth to come! and should begin to be striking the youths and the maidens, —to be eating also, and drinking, and making himself drunk,
46 Virá o senhor d'aquelle servo no dia em que o não espera, e n'uma hora que elle não sabe, e separal-o-ha, e porá a sua parte com os infieis.
The lord of that servant, will have come—on a day when he is not expecting, and in an hour when he is not taking note, —and will cut him asunder, and, his part, with the unfaithful, will appoint.
47 E o servo que soube a vontade do seu senhor, e não se apercebeu, nem fez conforme a sua vontade, será castigado com muitos açoites;
And, that servant, who had come to know the will of his lord, and neither prepared, nor wrought unto his will, shall be beaten with many stripes;
48 Mas o que a não soube, e fez coisas dignas de açoites, com poucos açoites será castigado. E, a qualquer que muito fôr dado, muito se lhe pedirá, e ao que muito se lhe confiou muito mais se lhe pedirá.
Whereas, he who had not come to know, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And, every one to whom was given much, much, shall be sought from him; and, he to whom they committed much, for more than common, will they ask him.
49 Vim lançar fogo na terra; e que quero, se já está acceso?
Fire, came I to cast upon the earth, —and what can I wish, if, already, it hath been, kindled?
50 Importa, porém, que seja baptizado com um baptismo; e como me angustio até que venha a cumprir-se!
But, an immersion, have I, to be immersed with, and how am I distressed, until it be ended!
51 Cuidaes vós que vim dar paz á terra? Não, vos digo, mas antes dissensão;
Suppose ye, that, peace, I am come to give in the earth? Nay, I tell you, but rather division.
52 Porque d'aqui em diante estarão cinco divididos n'uma casa: tres contra dois, e dois contra tres:
For there shall be, henceforth, five in one house, divided, —three against two, and two against three:
53 O pae estará dividido contra o filho, e o filho contra o pae; a mãe contra a filha, e a filha contra a mãe; a sogra contra sua nora, e a nora contra sua sogra.
There shall be divided—Father against son, and son against father, mother against daughter, and daughter against the mother, —mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against the mother-in-law.
54 E dizia tambem á multidão: Quando vêdes a nuvem que vem do occidente, logo dizeis: Lá vem chuva, e assim succede.
And he went on to say, even unto the multitudes, —Whensoever ye see a cloud springing up from the west, straightway, ye are saying—A thunderstorm is coming! and it happeneth thus.
55 E, quando assopra o sul, dizeis: Haverá calma; e assim succede.
And, whensoever a south wind, blowing, ye say—A scorching heat, will there be! and it cometh to pass.
56 Hypocritas, sabeis distinguir a face da terra e do céu, e como não distinguis este tempo?
Hypocrites! the face of the earth and of the heaven, ye know how to scan; but, this season, how know ye not to scan;
57 E porque não julgaes tambem por vós mesmos o que é justo?
Why, moreover, even from yourselves, judge ye not what is just?
58 Quando pois vaes com o teu adversario ao magistrado, procura livrar-te d'elle no caminho; para que não succeda que te conduza ao juiz, e o juiz te entregue ao meirinho, e o meirinho te encerre na prisão.
For, as thou art going along with thine adversary unto a ruler, on the way, take pains to get a release from him; lest once he drag thee along unto the judge, and, the judge, deliver thee up to the punisher, —and, the punisher, cast thee into prison:
59 Digo-te que não sairás d'ali emquanto não pagares o derradeiro ceitil.
I tell thee—In nowise shalt thou come out from thence, until, even the last fraction, thou pay!
