Lamentações de Jeremias 5
1 Lembra-te, Senhor, do que nos tem succedido: considera, e olha o nosso opprobrio.
Remember, O Jehovah, what has come upon us. Behold, and see our reproach.
2 A nossa herdade passou a estranhos, e as nossas casas a forasteiros.
Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
3 Orphãos somos sem pae, nossas mães são como viuvas.
We are orphans and fatherless. Our mothers are as widows.
4 A nossa agua por dinheiro a bebemos, por preço vem a nossa lenha.
We have drunken our water for money. Our wood is sold to us.
5 Padecemos perseguição sobre os nossos pescoços: estamos cançados, e nós não temos descanço.
Our pursuers are upon our necks. We are weary, and have no rest.
6 Aos egypcios estendemos as mãos, e aos syros, para nos fartarem de pão.
We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.
7 Nossos paes peccaram, e já não são: nós levamos as suas maldades.
Our fathers sinned, and are not, and we have borne their iniquities.
8 Servos dominam sobre nós; ninguem ha que nos arranque da sua mão.
Servants rule over us. There is none to deliver us out of their hand.
9 Com perigo de nossas vidas trazemos o nosso pão, por causa da espada do deserto.
We get our bread at the peril of our lives, because of the sword of the wilderness.
10 Nossa pelle se ennegreceu como um forno, por causa do ardor da fome.
Our skin is black like an oven, because of the burning heat of famine.
11 Forçaram as mulheres em Sião, as virgens nas cidades de Judah.
They ravished the women in Zion, the virgins in the cities of Judah.
12 Os principes foram enforcados pelas mãos; as faces dos velhos não foram reverenciadas.
Rulers were hanged up by their hand. The faces of elders were not honored.
13 Aos mancebos tomaram para moer, e os moços tropeçaram debaixo da lenha.
The young men bore the mill, and the sons stumbled under the wood.
14 Os velhos cessaram de se assentarem á porta, os mancebos de sua canção.
The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their music.
15 Cessou o gozo de nosso coração, converteu-se em lamentação a nossa dança.
The joy of our heart is ceased, our dance is turned into mourning.
16 Já caiu a corôa da nossa cabeça; ai agora de nós, porque peccámos.
The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us! For we have sinned.
17 Portanto desmaiou o nosso coração, por isto se escureceram os nossos olhos.
For this our heart is faint. For these things our eyes are dim,
18 Pelo monte de Sião, que está assolado, as raposas andam por elle.
for the mountain of Zion, which is desolate. The foxes walk upon it.
19 Tu, Senhor, permaneces eternamente, e o teu throno de geração em geração.
Thou, O Jehovah, abide forever. Thy throne is from generation to generation.
20 Porque te esquecerias de nós para sempre? porque nos desampararias tanto tempo?
Why do thou forget us forever, and forsake us so long time?
21 Converte-nos, Senhor, a ti, e nos converteremos: renova os nossos dias como d'antes.
Turn thou us back to thee, O Jehovah, and we shall be turned back. Renew our days as of old.
22 Porque nos rejeitarias totalmente? te enfurecerias contra nós em tão grande maneira?
But thou have utterly rejected us. Thou are very angry against us.
