Lamentações de Jeremias 3
1 Eu sou aquelle homem que viu a afflicção pela vara do seu furor.
I AM the man that has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
2 A mim me guiou e levou ás trevas e não á luz.
He has led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.
3 Devéras se tornou contra mim e virou a sua mão todo o dia.
Surely against me is he turned; he turns his hand against me all the day.
4 Fez envelhecer a minha carne e a minha pelle, quebrantou os meus ossos.
My flesh and my skin has he made old; he has broken my bones.
5 Edificou contra mim, e me cercou de fel e trabalho.
He has built against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
6 Assentou-me em logares tenebrosos, como os que estavam mortos ha muito.
He has set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.
7 Cercou-me de sebe, e não posso sair: aggravou os meus grilhões.
He has hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he has made my chain heavy.
8 Ainda quando clamo e grito, elle exclue a minha oração.
Also when I cry and shout, he shuts out my prayer.
9 Cercou de sebe os meus caminhos com pedras lavradas, divertiu as minhas veredas.
He has enclosed my ways with hewn stone, he has made my paths crooked.
10 Fez-se-me como urso de emboscada, um leão em esconderijos.
He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.
11 Desviou os meus caminhos, e fez-me em pedaços; deixou-me assolado.
He has turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he has made me desolate.
12 Armou o seu arco, e me poz como alvo á frecha.
He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
13 Faz entrar nos meus rins as frechas da sua aljava.
He has caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
14 Fui feito um objecto de escarneo a todo o meu povo, de canção sua todo o dia.
I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.
15 Fartou-me de amarguras, embriagou-me de absintho.
He has filled me with bitterness, he has made me drunken with wormwood.
16 Quebrou com pedrinhas de areia os meus dentes; abaixou-me na cinza.
He has also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he has covered me with ashes.
17 E affastaste da paz a minha alma; esqueci-me do bem.
And you have removed my soul far off from peace: I forgotten about prosperity.
18 Então disse eu: Já pereceu a minha força, como tambem a minha esperança no Senhor.
And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:
19 Lembra-te da minha afflicção e do meu pranto, do absintho e do fel.
Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
20 Minha alma certamente d'isto se lembra, e se abate em mim.
My soul has them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
21 D'isto me recordarei no meu coração; por isso esperarei.
This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22 As misericordias do Senhor são a causa de não sermos consumidos; porque as suas misericordias não teem fim.
It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 Novas são cada manhã; grande é a tua fidelidade.
They are new every morning: great is your faithfulness.
24 A minha porção é o Senhor, diz a minha alma; portanto esperarei n'elle.
The LORD is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
25 Bom é o Senhor para os que se ateem a elle, para a alma que o busca.
The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.
26 Bom é esperar, e aguardar em silencio a salvação do Senhor.
It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
27 Bom é para o homem levar o jugo na sua mocidade.
It is good for a man that he bear the yoke of his youth.
28 Assentar-se-ha solitario, e ficará em silencio; porquanto Deus o poz sobre elle.
He sits alone and keeps silence, because he has borne it upon him.
29 Ponha a sua bocca no pó, dizendo: Porventura haverá esperança.
He puts his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.
30 Dê a sua face ao que o fere; farte-se de affronta.
He gives his cheek to him that strikes him: he is filled full with reproach.
31 Porque o Senhor não rejeitará para sempre.
For the LORD will not cast off for ever:
32 Antes, se entristeceu a alguem, compadecer-se-ha d'elle, segundo a grandeza das suas misericordias.
But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
33 Porque não afflige nem entristece aos filhos dos homens do seu coração.
For he does not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
34 Para atropellar debaixo dos seus pés a todos os presos da terra.
To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth.
35 Para perverter o direito do homem perante a face do Altissimo.
To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
36 Para subverter ao homem no seu pleito; porventura não o veria o Senhor?
To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approves not.
37 Quem é aquelle que diz, e assim acontece, quando o Senhor o não mande?
Who is he that says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord commands it not?
38 Porventura da bocca do Altissimo não sae o mal e o bem?
Out of the mouth of the most High proceeds not evil and good?
39 De que se queixa logo o homem vivente? queixe-se cada um dos seus peccados.
Wherefore does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
40 Esquadrinhemos os nossos caminhos, e investiguemol-os, e voltemos para o Senhor.
Let us search and try our ways, and return to the LORD.
41 Levantemos os nossos corações com as mãos a Deus nos céus, dizendo:
Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
42 Nós prevaricámos, e fomos rebeldes; por isso tu não perdoaste.
We have transgressed and have rebelled: you have not pardoned.
43 Cobriste-nos da tua ira, e nos perseguiste; mataste, não perdoaste.
You have covered with anger, and persecuted us: you have slain, you have not pitied.
44 Cobriste-te de nuvens, para que não passe a nossa oração.
You have covered yourself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.
45 Por cisco e rejeitamento nos pozeste no meio dos povos.
You have made us as the waste and refuse in the midst of the people.
46 Todos os nossos inimigos abriram contra nós a sua bocca.
All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
47 Temor e cova vieram sobre nós, assolação e quebrantamento.
Fear and a snare has come upon us, desolation and destruction.
48 Correntes de aguas derramou o meu olho pelo quebrantamento da filha do meu povo.
Mine eye runs down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
49 O meu olho manou, e não cessa, porquanto não ha descanço,
Mine eye trickes down, and ceases not, without any intermission.
50 Até que attente e veja o Senhor desde os céus.
Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.
51 O meu olho move a minha alma, por causa de todas as filhas da minha cidade.
Mine eye affects mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.
52 Como ave me caçaram os que são meus inimigos sem causa.
Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.
53 Arrancaram a minha vida na masmorra, e lançaram pedras sobre mim.
They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
54 Derramaram-se as aguas sobre a minha cabeça; eu disse: Estou cortado.
Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.
55 Invoquei o teu nome, Senhor, desde a mais profunda cova.
I called upon your name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.
56 Ouviste a minha voz; não escondas o teu ouvido ao meu suspiro, ao meu clamor.
You have heard my voice: hide not your ear at my breathing, at my cry.
57 Tu te chegaste no dia em que te invoquei; disseste: Não temas.
You drew near in the day that I called upon you: you said, Fear not.
58 Pleiteaste, Senhor, os pleitos da minha alma, remiste a minha vida.
O LORD, you have pleaded the causes of my soul; you have redeemed my life.
59 Viste, Senhor, a injustiça que me fizeram; julga a minha causa.
O LORD, you have seen my wrong: judge you my cause.
60 Viste toda a sua vingança, todos os seus pensamentos contra mim.
You have seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.
61 Ouviste o seu opprobrio, Senhor, todos os seus pensamentos contra mim,
You have heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me;
62 Os ditos dos que se levantam contra mim e as suas imaginações contra mim todo o dia.
The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
63 Observa-os a elles ao assentarem-se e ao levantarem-se; eu sou a sua canção.
Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their music.
64 Rende-lhes recompensa, Senhor, conforme a obra das suas mãos.
Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
65 Dá-lhes ancia de coração, maldição tua sobre elles.
Give them sorrow of heart, your curse unto them.
66 Na tua ira persegue-os, e desfal-os de debaixo dos céus do Senhor.
Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
