Josué 15
1 E foi a sorte da tribu dos filhos de Judah, segundo as suas familias, até ao termo d'Edom, o deserto de Sin para o sul, até a extremidade da banda do sul.
This was the land allotted to the tribe of Judah, by families: it stretched south to the border of Edom, to the wilderness of Zin in the far south.
2 E foi o seu termo para o sul, desde a ribeira do mar salgado, desde a bahia que olha para o sul;
Their boundary began at the end of the Salt Sea—the bay that faces south—
3 E sae para o sul, até á subida d'Akrabbim, e passa a Sin, e sobe do sul a Cades Barnea, e passa por Hezron, e sobe a Adar, e rodeia a Carca:
and then went south of Scorpion Pass through the wilderness of Zin, then heading south from Kadesh-barnea to Hezron. From there it went up to Addar and then turned towards Karka,
4 E passa Asmon, e sae ao ribeiro do Egypto, e as saidas d'este termo irão até ao mar: este será o vosso termo da banda do sul.
passing through Azmon and out to the Wadi of Egypt, ending at the sea. This was their southern border.
5 O termo porém para o oriente será o mar salgado, até á extremidade do Jordão: e o termo para o norte será da bahia do mar, desde a extremidade do Jordão.
The eastern border of Judah was the Salt Sea, up to where the Jordan River ends. The northern boundary ran from the northern bay of the sea where the Jordan ends
6 E este termo subirá até Beth-hogla, e passará do norte a Beth-araba, e este termo subirá até á pedra de Bohan, filho de Ruben
up to the border of Beth-hoglath, and then north of Beth-arabah to the Stone of Bohan (Reuben's son).
7 Subirá mais este termo a Debir desde o valle d'Acor, e olhará pelo norte para Gilgal, a qual está á subida d'Adummim, que está para o sul do ribeiro: então este termo passará até ás aguas d'En-semes: e as suas saidas estarão da banda d'En-rogel.
From there it went to the border of Debir through the valley of Achor, and turned north towards Gilgal, opposite the heights of Adummim to the south of the valley. Then the boundary continued to the waters of En-shemesh and out to En-rogel.
8 E este termo passará pelo valle do filho d'Hinnom, da banda dos jebuseos do sul: esta é Jerusalem: e subirá este termo até ao cume do monte que está diante do valle d'Hinnom para o occidente, que está no fim do valle dos rephains da banda do norte
The boundary then went through the valley of Ben-hinnom, along the southern slopes of the Jebusites, (that is Jerusalem), then on up to the top of the mountain overlooking the valley of Hinnom right up to the northern end of the valley of Rephaim.
9 Então este termo irá desde a altura do monte até á fonte das aguas de Nephtoah; e sairá até ás cidades do monte d'Ephron; irá mais este termo até Baala; esta é Kiriath-jearim:
From there the boundary ran from the top of the mountain to the water spring at Nephtoah and on to the towns on Mount Ephron. Then it bent towards Ballah (Kiriath-jearim).
10 Então tornará este termo desde Baala para o occidente, até ás montanhas de Seir, e passará ao lado do monte de Jearim da banda do norte; esta é Kesalon, e descerá a Beth-semes, e passará por Timna.
Then the boundary moved around to the west of Baalah to Mount Seir and passed along the northern slope of Mount Jearim to the town of Kesalon, down to Beth Shemesh and on to Timnah.
11 Sairá este termo mais ao lado d'Ek- ron para o norte, e este termo irá a Sicron, e passará o monte de Baala, e sairá em Jabneel: e as saidas d'este termo eram no mar
The boundary then ran to the north slope of Ekron, and bent towards Shikkeron, passing Mount Baalah, out to Jabneel, and ending at the sea.
12 Será porém o termo da banda do occidente o mar grande, e o seu termo: este é o termo dos filhos de Judah ao redor, segundo as suas familias.
The western boundary was the coastline of the Great Sea. These were the boundaries around the tribe of Judah, by families.
13 Mas a Caleb, filho de Jefoné, deu uma parte no meio dos filhos de Judah, conforme ao dito do Senhor a Josué: a saber, a cidade de Arba, pae d'Enak; este é Hebron.
The Lord had instructed Joshua to allocate some land in Judah's territory to Caleb, son of Jephunneh, and so he was given the town of Kiriath-arba, or Hebron. (Arba was the father of Anak.)
14 E expelliu Caleb d'ali os tres filhos d'Enak: Sesai, e Ahiman, e Talmai, gerados d'Enak.
Caleb drove out three family groups—Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, descendants of Anak.
15 E d'ali subiu aos habitantes de Debir: e fôra d'antes o nome de Debir Kiriath-sepher.
From there he went to attack the inhabitants of Debir (previously known as Kiriath-sepher).
16 E disse Caleb: Quem ferir a Kiriath-sepher, e a tomar, lhe darei a minha filha Acsa por mulher.
Caleb announced, “Whoever attacks Kiriath-sepher and captures it, I will give him my daughter Acsah to marry.”
17 Tomou-a pois Othniel, filho de Kenaz, irmão de Caleb: e deu-lhe a sua filha Acsa por mulher.
Othniel, son of Kenaz, brother of Caleb, captured the town so Caleb gave him his daughter Acsah to marry.
18 E succedeu que, vindo ella a elle o persuadiu que pedisse um campo a seu pae: e ella se apeou do jumento: então Caleb lhe disse: Que é que tens?
When she came to him, she encouraged him to ask her father for a field. When she got off her donkey, Caleb asked her, “What do you want?”
19 E ella disse; Dá-me uma benção; pois me déste terra secca, dá-me tambem fontes de aguas. Então lhe deu as fontes superiores e as fontes inferiores.
She replied, “Please give me a blessing. Since you have already given me land that's like the desert, please give me springs of water as well.” So he gave her both the upper and the lower springs.
20 Esta é a herança da tribu dos filhos de Judah, segundo as suas familias.

However, the tribe of Judah could not drive out the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so the Jebusites live among the tribe of Judah in Jerusalem to this very day.
