Joel 2
1 Tocae a buzina em Sião, e clamae em alta voz no monte da minha sanctidade: perturbem-se todos os moradores da terra, porque o dia do Senhor vem, porque está perto:
Blow a horn in Zion, And shout in My holy hill, All inhabitants of the earth tremble, For the Day of YHWH is coming, for [it is] near!
2 Dia de trevas e de escuridade; dia de nuvens e grossas trevas; como a alva espalhada sobre os montes; povo grande e poderoso, qual desde o tempo antigo nunca houve, nem depois d'elle haverá mais até aos annos de geração em geração.
A day of darkness and thick darkness, A day of cloud and thick darkness, As darkness spread on the mountains, A people numerous and mighty, Like there has not been from of old, And after it there is not again—Until the years of generation and generation.
3 Diante d'elle um fogo consome, e atraz d'elle uma chamma abraza: a terra diante d'elle é como o jardim do Eden, mas atraz d'elle um deserto de assolação, nem tão pouco haverá coisa que d'ella escape.
Before it fire has consumed, And after it a flame burns, As the Garden of Eden [is] the land before it, And after it a wilderness—a desolation! And also there has not been to it an escape,
4 O seu parecer é como o parecer de cavallos: e correrão como cavalleiros.
As the appearance of horses [is] its appearance, And as horsemen, so they run.
5 Como o estrondo de carros, irão saltando sobre os cumes dos montes, como o sonido da chamma de fogo que consome a pragana, como um povo poderoso, ordenado para o combate.
As the noise of chariots, they skip on the tops of the mountains, As the noise of a flame of fire devouring stubble, As a mighty people set in array for battle.
6 Diante d'elle temerão os povos; todos os rostos são como a tisnadura da panella.
Pained are peoples from its face, All faces have gathered paleness.
7 Como valentes correrão, como homens de guerra subirão os muros; e irá cada um nos seus caminhos e não se desviarão da sua fileira.
They run as mighty ones, As men of war they go up a wall, And they each go in his own ways, And they do not change their paths.
8 Ninguem apertará a seu irmão; irá cada um pelo seu carreiro; sobre a mesma espada se arremessarão, e não serão feridos.
And each does not press his brother, They each go on in his way, If they fall by the missile, they are not cut off.
9 Irão pela cidade, correrão pelos muros, subirão ás casas, pelas janellas entrarão como o ladrão.
In the city they run to and fro, On the wall they run, Into houses they go up by the windows, They go in as a thief.
10 Diante d'elle tremerá a terra, abalar-se-hão os céus; o sol e a lua se ennegrecerão, e as estrellas retirarão o seu resplandor.
At their face the earth has trembled, The heavens have shaken, Sun and moon have been black, And stars have gathered up their shining.
11 E o Senhor levanta a sua voz diante do seu exercito; porque muitissimos são os seus arraiaes; porque poderoso é, fazendo a sua palavra; porque o dia do Senhor é grande e mui terrivel, e quem o poderá soffrer?
And YHWH has given forth His voice before His force, For His camp [is] very great, For mighty [is] the doer of His word, For great [is] the Day of YHWH—very fearful, And who bears it?
12 Ora, pois, tambem falla o Senhor: Convertei-vos a mim com todo o vosso coração; e isso com jejuns, e com choro, e com pranto.
“And also now,” a declaration of YHWH, “Turn back to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, and with weeping, And with lamentation.”
13 E rasgae o vosso coração, e não os vossos vestidos, e convertei-vos ao Senhor vosso Deus; porque elle é misericordioso, e é clemente, e tardio em irar-se, e grande em beneficencia, e se arrepende do mal.
And tear your heart, and not your garments, And turn back to your God YHWH, For He [is] gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and abundant in kindness, And relenting from evil.
14 Quem sabe se se converterá e se arrependerá, e deixará após si uma benção, em offerta de manjar e libação para o Senhor vosso Deus?
Who knows—He turns back, Indeed—He has relented, And He has left behind Him a blessing, A present and drink-offering of your God YHWH?
15 Tocae a buzina em Sião, sanctificae um jejum, apregoae um dia de prohibição.
Blow a horn in Zion, Sanctify a fast—proclaim a restraint.
16 Congregae o povo, sanctificae a congregação, ajuntae os anciãos, congregae os filhinhos, e os que mamam os peitos: saia o noivo da sua recamara, e a noiva do seu thalamo.
Gather the people, sanctify an assembly, Assemble the aged, Gather infants and sucklings of the breasts, Let a bridegroom go out from his inner chamber, And a bride out of her closet.
17 Chorem os sacerdotes, ministros do Senhor, entre o alpendre e o altar, e digam: Poupa a teu povo, ó Senhor, e não entregues a tua herança ao opprobrio, para que as nações façam mofa d'elle; porque diriam entre os povos: Onde está o seu Deus?
Let the priests weep between the porch and the altar, servants of YHWH, And let them say: “Have pity, O YHWH, on Your people, And do not give Your inheritance to reproach, To the ruling over them of nations, Why do they say among peoples, Where [is] their God?”
18 Então o Senhor terá zelo da sua terra, e se compadecerá do seu povo.
And let YHWH be zealous for His land, And have pity on His people.
19 E o Senhor responderá, e dirá ao seu povo: Eis que vos envio o trigo, e o mosto, e o oleo, e d'elles sereis fartos, e vos não entregarei mais ao opprobrio entre as nações.
Let YHWH answer and say to His people, “Behold, I am sending to you the grain, And the new wine, and the oil, And you have been satisfied with it, And I make you no longer a reproach among nations,
20 E aquelle que é do norte farei partir para longe de vós, e lançal-o-hei em uma terra secca e deserta: a sua face para o mar oriental, e a sua extremidade para o mal occidental; e subirá o seu fedor, e subirá a sua podridão; porque fez grandes coisas.
And the northern I put far off from you, And have driven him to a land dry and desolate, With his face toward the Eastern Sea, And his rear to the Western Sea, And his stink has come up, And his stench comes up, For he has exerted himself to work.”
21 Não temas, ó terra: regozija-te e alegra-te; porque o Senhor fez grandes coisas.
Do not fear, O land! Be glad and rejoice, For YHWH has exerted Himself to work.
22 Não temaes, animaes do campo, porque os pastos do deserto reverdecerão, porque o arvoredo dará o seu fructo, a vide e a figueira darão a sua força.
Do not fear, O livestock of the field! For pastures of a wilderness have sprung up, For the tree has borne its fruit, Fig tree and vine have given their strength!
23 E vós, filhos de Sião, regozijae-vos e alegrae-vos no Senhor vosso Deus, porque elle vos dará ensinador de justiça, e vos fará descer a chuva, a temporã e a serodia, no primeiro mez.
And you sons of Zion, Be glad and rejoice in your God YHWH, For He has given to you the Teacher for righteousness, And causes a shower to come down to you, Early rain and spring rain [as] in the beginning.
24 E as eiras se encherão de trigo, e os lagares trasbordarão de mosto e de oleo.
And the floors have been full [with] pure grain, And the presses have overflown [with] new wine and oil.
25 E restituir-vos-hei os annos que comeu o gafanhoto, a locusta, e o pulgão e a aruga, o meu grande exercito que enviei contra vós.
“And I have repaid to you the years that the locust consumed, The cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmer-worm, My great force that I sent against you.
26 E comereis abundantemente e até fartar-vos, e louvareis o nome do Senhor vosso Deus, o qual obrou para comvosco maravilhosamente; e o meu povo não será envergonhado para sempre.
And you have eaten, eating and being satisfied, And have praised the Name of your God YHWH, Who has dealt with you wonderfully, And My people are not ashamed for all time.
27 E vós sabereis que eu estou no meio de Israel, e que eu sou o Senhor vosso Deus, e ninguem mais: e o meu povo não será envergonhado para sempre.
And you have known that I [am] in the midst of Israel, And I [am] your God YHWH, and there is none else, And My people are not ashamed for all time.
28 E ha de ser que, depois, derramarei o meu Espirito sobre toda a carne, e vossos filhos e vossas filhas prophetizarão, os vossos velhos sonharão sonhos, os vossos mancebos verão visões.
And it has come to pass afterward, I pour out My Spirit on all flesh, And your sons and your daughters have prophesied, Your old men dream dreams, Your young men see visions.
29 E tambem sobre os servos e sobre as servas n'aquelles dias derramarei o meu Espirito.
And also on the menservants and on the maidservants, In those days I pour out My Spirit.
30 E darei prodigios no céu, e na terra, sangue e fogo, e columnas de fumo.
And I have given wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood, and fire, and columns of smoke.
31 O sol se converterá em trevas, e a lua em sangue, antes que venha o grande e terrivel dia do Senhor.
The sun is turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, Before the coming of the Day of YHWH, The great and the fearful.
32 E ha de ser que todo aquelle que invocar o nome do Senhor escapará; porque no monte de Sião e em Jerusalem haverá livramento, assim como o Senhor tem dito, e nos que restarem, os quaes o Senhor chamará.
And it has come to pass, Everyone who calls on the Name of YHWH is delivered, For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there is an escape, As YHWH has said, And among the remnants whom YHWH is calling!”
