Jó 8
1 Então respondeu Bildad o suhita, e disse:
Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and saide,
2 Até quando fallarás taes coisas, e as razões da tua bocca serão como um vento impetuoso?
Howe long wilt thou talke of these things? and howe long shall the wordes of thy mouth be as a mightie winde?
3 Porventura perverteria Deus o direito? e perverteria o Todo-poderoso a justiça?
Doeth God peruert iudgement? or doeth the Almightie subuert iustice?
4 Se teus filhos peccaram contra elle, tambem elle os lançou na mão da sua transgressão.
If thy sonnes haue sinned against him, and he hath sent them into the place of their iniquitie,
5 Mas, se tu de madrugada buscares a Deus, e ao Todo-poderoso pedires misericordia,
Yet if thou wilt early seeke vnto God, and pray to the Almightie,
6 Se fôres puro e recto, certamente logo despertará por ti, e restaurará a morada da tua justiça.
If thou be pure and vpright, then surely hee will awake vp vnto thee, and he wil make the habitation of thy righteousnesse prosperous.
7 O teu principio, na verdade, terá sido pequeno, porém o teu ultimo estado crescerá em extremo.
And though thy beginning be small, yet thy latter ende shall greatly encrease.
8 Porque, pergunta agora ás gerações passadas: e prepara-te para a inquirição de seus paes
Inquire therefore, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thy selfe to search of their fathers.
9 Porque nós somos de hontem, e nada sabemos; porquanto nossos dias sobre a terra são como a sombra.
(For we are but of yesterday, and are ignorant: for our dayes vpon earth are but a shadowe)
10 Porventura não te ensinarão elles, e não te fallarão, e do seu coração não tirarão razões?
Shall not they teach thee and tell thee, and vtter the wordes of their heart?
11 Porventura sobe o junco sem lodo? ou cresce a espadana sem agua?
Can a rush grow without myre? or can ye grasse growe without water?
12 Estando ainda na sua verdura, ainda que a não cortem, todavia antes de qualquer outra herva se secca.
Though it were in greene and not cutte downe, yet shall it wither before any other herbe.
13 Assim são as veredas de todos quantos se esquecem de Deus: e a esperança do hypocrita perecerá.
So are the paths of al that forget God, and the hypocrites hope shall perish.
14 Cuja esperança fica frustrada: e a sua confiança será como a teia d'aranha.
His confidence also shalbe cut off, and his trust shalbe as the house of a spyder.
15 Encostar-se-ha á sua casa, mas não se terá firme: apegar-se-ha a ella, mas não ficará em pé.
He shall leane vpon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall holde him fast by it, yet shall it not endure.
16 Está sumarento antes que venha o sol, e os seus renovos saem sobre o seu jardim;
The tree is greene before the sunne, and the branches spread ouer the garden thereof.
17 As suas raizes se entrelaçam junto á fonte, para o pedregal attenta.
The rootes thereof are wrapped about the fountaine, and are folden about ye house of stones.
18 Absorvendo-o elle do seu logar, negal-o-ha este, dizendo: Nunca te vi?
If any plucke it from his place, and it denie, saying, I haue not seene thee,
19 Eis que este é alegria do seu caminho, e outros brotarão do pó.
Beholde, it will reioyce by this meanes, that it may growe in another molde.
20 Eis que Deus não rejeitará ao recto; nem toma pela mão aos malfeitores:
Behold, God will not cast away an vpright man, neither will he take the wicked by the hand,
21 Até que de riso te encha a bocca, e os teus labios de jubilação.
Till he haue filled thy mouth with laughter, and thy lippes with ioy.
22 Teus aborrecedores se vestirão de confusão, e a tenda dos impios não existirá mais.
They that hate thee, shall be clothed with shame, and the dwelling of the wicked shall not remaine.
