Jeremias 1
1 Palavras de Jeremias, filho de Hilkias, dos sacerdotes que estavam em Anathoth, na terra de Benjamin:
The words of Jeremiah, the son of Hilkiah, one of the priests, who dwelt in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin;
2 Ao qual veiu a palavra do Senhor, nos dias de Josias, filho d'Ammon, rei de Judah, no decimo terceiro anno do seu reinado.
to whom the word of Jehovah came in the days of Josiah, the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign;
3 Assim lhe veiu tambem nos dias de Jeheiakim, filho de Josias, rei de Judah, até ao fim do anno undecimo de Zedekias, filho de Josias, rei de Judah, até que Jerusalem foi levada em captiveiro no quinto mez.
to whom it also came in the days of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the carrying away of Jerusalem into captivity in the fifth month.
4 Assim que veiu a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:
The word of Jehovah came to me, saying:
5 Antes que te formasse no ventre, te conheci, e antes que saisses da madre, te sanctifiquei; ás nações te dei por propheta.
Before I formed thee in the womb, I knew thee; and before thou camest into the world, I chose thee; I appointed thee to be a prophet to the nations.
6 Então disse eu: Ah Senhor Jehovah! Eis que não sei fallar; porque ainda sou um menino.
Then said I, Alas, O Lord Jehovah! Behold, I am not able to speak; for I am a child.
7 Porém disse-me o Senhor: Não digas que és um menino; porque aonde quer que eu te enviar, irás; e tudo quanto te mandar fallarás.
But Jehovah said to me, Say not, I am a child; but go to whomever I send thee, and speak whatever I command thee!
8 Não temas diante d'elles; porque estou comtigo para te livrar, diz o Senhor.
Be not afraid of them! For I am with thee to help thee, saith Jehovah.
9 E estendeu o Senhor a sua mão, e tocou-me na bocca: e disse-me o Senhor: Eis que ponho as minhas palavras na tua bocca:
Then Jehovah put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. Jehovah also said to me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
10 Olha, ponho-te n'este dia sobre as nações, e sobre os reinos, para arrancares, e para derribares, e para destruires, e para arruinares; e tambem para edificares e para plantares.
Behold, I have set thee this day over nations and over kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to overthrow; and to build, and to plant.
11 Veiu a mim mais a palavra do Senhor, dizendo: Que é o que vês, Jeremias? E eu disse: Vejo uma vara de amendoeira.
Then the word of Jehovah came to me, saying, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, I see a rod of almond-wood.
12 E disse-me o Senhor: Bem viste; porque apressurar-me-hei sobre a minha palavra para cumpril-a.
And Jehovah said to me, Thou hast seen right; for I am watchful over my word to perform it.
13 E veiu a mim a palavra do Senhor segunda vez, dizendo: Que é o que vês? E eu disse: Vejo uma panella fervente, cuja face está para a banda do norte.
And the word of Jehovah came to me a second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a boiling pot, whose face is turned from the north.
14 E disse-me o Senhor: Do norte se descobrirá o mal sobre todos os habitantes da terra.
And Jehovah said to me, From the north shall evil break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
15 Porque eis que eu convoco todas as familias dos reinos do norte, diz o Senhor; e virão, e cada um porá o seu throno á entrada das portas de Jerusalem, e contra todos os seus muros em redor, e contra todas as cidades de Judah.
For, behold, I will call all the tribes of the kingdoms of the north, saith Jehovah; and they shall come, and shall set every one his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all her walls around, and against all the cities of Judah.
16 E eu pronunciarei contra elles os meus juizos, por causa de toda a sua malicia; pois me deixaram a mim, e queimaram incenso a deuses estranhos, e se encurvaram diante das obras das suas mãos.
And I will pronounce my judgments against them for all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, and worshipped the work of their own hands.
17 Tu, pois, cinge os teus lombos, e levanta-te, e dize-lhes tudo quanto eu te mandar: não sejas espantado diante d'elles, para que eu te não espante diante d'elles.
Thou, therefore, gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak to them all that I command thee; be not afraid of them, lest I confound thee before them.
18 Porque, eis que te ponho hoje por cidade forte, e por columna de ferro, e por muros de bronze, contra toda a terra; contra os reis de Judah, contra os seus principes, contra os seus sacerdotes, e contra o povo da terra.
For, behold, I make thee this day a fortified city, and a pillar of iron, and a wall of brass against all this land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
19 E pelejarão contra ti, mas não prevalecerão contra ti; porque eu estou comtigo, diz o Senhor, para te livrar.
They shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee; for I will be with thee, saith Jehovah, to help thee.
