Jeremias 29
1 E estas são as palavras da carta que Jeremias, o propheta, enviou de Jerusalem, ao resto do captiveiro dos anciãos, como tambem aos sacerdotes, e aos prophetas, e a todo o povo que Nabucodonozor havia transportado de Jerusalem a Babylonia;
Now these are the words of the letter which Jeremiah the prophet sent to the residue of the elders of the captivity, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people, whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon,
2 Depois que sairam o rei Jechonias, e a rainha, e os eunuchos, e os principes de Judah e Jerusalem, e os carpinteiros e ferreiros de Jerusalem,
after the departure of Jeconiah the king, and the queen, and the eunuchs, and the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the artificers, and the smiths, from Jerusalem,
3 Pela mão de Elasa, filho de Saphan, e de Gemarias, filho de Hilkias, os quaes enviou Zedekias, rei de Judah, a Babylonia, a Nabucodonozor, rei de Babylonia, dizendo:
by the hand of Elasah, the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah, the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah, the king of Judah, sent to Babylon, to Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, ) saying: —
4 Assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos, o Deus d'Israel, a todos os que foram transportados, os quaes fiz transportar de Jerusalem para Babylonia:
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the captives whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem to Babylon:
5 Edificae casas e habitae n'ellas; e plantae jardins, e comei o seu fructo.
Build ye houses and dwell in them; and plant gardens and eat the fruit of them.
6 Tomae mulheres e gerae filhos e filhas, e tomae mulheres para vossos filhos, e dae vossas filhas a maridos, e parirão filhos e filhas; e multiplicae-vos ali, e não vos diminuaes.
Take ye wives, and have sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; and increase ye there, and be not diminished.
7 E procurae a paz da cidade, para onde vos fiz transportar, e orae por ella ao Senhor; porque na sua paz vós tereis paz.
And seek ye the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray for it to Jehovah, for in its peace shall be your peace.
8 Porque assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos, o Deus d'Israel: Não vos enganem os vossos prophetas que estão no meio de vós, nem os vossos adivinhos, nem deis ouvidos aos vossos sonhos, que vós sonhaes:
For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Let not your prophets and your diviners, who are in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.
9 Porque elles vos prophetizam falsamente no meu nome: não os enviei, diz o Senhor.
For they prophesy falsely to you in my name; I have not sent them, saith Jehovah.
10 Porque assim diz o Senhor: Certamente que em se cumprindo setenta annos em Babylonia, vos visitarei, e continuarei sobre vós a minha boa palavra, tornando-vos a trazer a este logar.
For thus saith Jehovah: Surely, when seventy years shall be completed for Babylon, I will visit you, and I will perform for you my good promise, that I would bring you again to this place.
11 Porque eu bem sei os pensamentos que eu penso de vós, diz o Senhor; pensamentos de paz, e não de mal, para vos dar o fim que esperaes.
For I know the designs which I have in mind concerning you, designs of good and not of evil, to give you a happy end, and fulfill your hopes.
12 Então me invocareis, e ireis, e orareis a mim, e eu vos ouvirei.
Then ye shall call upon me, and go in peace; ye shall pray to me, and I will hear you;
13 E buscar-me-heis, e me achareis, quando me buscardes com todo o vosso coração.
ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye search for me with all your heart.
14 E serei achado de vós, diz o Senhor, e farei tornar os vossos captivos, e congregar-vos-hei de todas as nações, e de todos os logares para onde vos lancei, diz o Senhor, e tornarei a trazer-vos ao logar d'onde vos transportei.
And I will be found by you, saith Jehovah, and I will bring you back from captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith Jehovah; and I will bring you again to the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
15 Porque dizeis: O Senhor nos levantou prophetas em Babylonia.
Since ye say, Jehovah hath raised us up prophets in Babylon,
16 Porque assim diz o Senhor ácerca do rei que se assenta no throno de David; e ácerca de todo o povo que habita n'esta cidade, a saber, de vossos irmãos, que não sairam comvosco para o captiveiro;
behold, thus saith Jehovah concerning the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and concerning all the people that dwell in this city, your brethren that went not forth with you into captivity, —
17 Assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos: Eis que enviarei entre elles a espada, a fome e a peste, e fal-os-hei como a figos podres, que não se podem comer, de maus que são.
thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and I will make them like vile figs, which cannot be eaten for badness.
18 E perseguil-os-hei com a espada, com a fome, e com a peste; dal-os-hei para servirem de commoção a todos os reinos da terra, como tambem por maldição, e por espanto, e por assobio, e por opprobrio entre toda sas nações para onde os lançar;
And I will persecute them with the sword, and with famine, and with pestilence, and I will give them up to oppression in all kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and a hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I drive them;
19 Porquanto não deram ouvidos ás minhas palavras, diz o Senhor, enviando-lhes eu os meus servos, os prophetas, madrugando e enviando; porém vós não escutastes, diz o Senhor.
because they have not hearkened to my words, saith Jehovah, when I sent to them my servants, the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith Jehovah.
20 Vós, pois, ouvi a palavra do Senhor, todos os do captiveiro que enviei de Jerusalem a Babylonia.
Hear ye, therefore, the word of Jehovah, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon.
21 Assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos, o Deus de Israel, ácerca de Ahab, filho de Colaias, e de Zedekias, filho de Maaseias, que vos prophetizam falsamente no meu nome: Eis que os entregarei na mão de Nabucodonozor, rei de Babylonia, e elle os ferirá diante dos vossos olhos.
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning Ahab, the son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah, the son of Maaseiah, who prophesy a lie to you in my name: Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and he shall slay them before your eyes.
22 E tomarão d'elles uma maldição todos os transportados de Judah, que estão em Babylonia, dizendo: O Senhor te faça como Zedekias, e como Ahab, os quaes o rei de Babylonia assou no fogo
And from them shall be taken a curse among all the captives of Judah that are at Babylon, so that they shall say, “Jehovah make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire!”
23 Porquanto fizeram loucura em Israel, e commetteram adulterio com as mulheres de seus companheiros, e fallaram uma palavra no meu nome falsamente, que não lhes mandei, e eu o sei e sou testemunha d'isso, diz o Senhor.
because they have practised villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbors' wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I commanded them not. But I know it, and am a witness, saith Jehovah.
24 E a Shemaias, o nehelamita, fallarás, dizendo:
And to Shemaiah, the Nehelamite, shalt thou say,
25 Assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos, o Deus d'Israel, dizendo: Porquanto tu enviaste no teu nome cartas a todo o povo que está em Jerusalem, como tambem a Sofonias, filho de Maaseias, o sacerdote, e a todos os sacerdotes, dizendo:
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Because thou hast sent letters in thy name to all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah, the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying,
26 O Senhor te poz por sacerdote em logar de Joiada, o sacerdote, para que sejaes encarregados da casa do Senhor sobre todo o homem furioso, e que prophetiza, para o lançares na prisão e no tronco.
Jehovah hath made thee priest in the room of Jehoiada the priest, that there should be officers in the house of Jehovah against every one that is mad and prophesieth, and that thou shouldst put him into the stocks, and into prison;
27 Agora, pois, porque não reprehendeste a Jeremias, o anathotita, que prophetiza vos?
now, therefore, why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, who prophesieth to you?
28 Porque por isso nos mandou a nós a Babylonia, dizendo: Ainda o captiveiro muito ha de durar; edificae casas, e habitae n'ellas; e plantae jardins, e comei o seu fructo.
For he hath sent to us at Babylon, saying, This captivity is long. Build ye houses and dwell in them, and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
29 E lera Sofonias, o sacerdote, esta carta aos ouvidos de Jeremias, o propheta.
And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.
30 E veiu a palavra do Senhor a Jeremias, dizendo:
Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah, saying:
31 Manda a todos os do captiveiro, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor ácerca de Semaias, o nehelamita: Porquanto Semaias vos prophetizou, e eu não o enviei, e vos fez confiar em mentiras,
Send to all those of the captivity, saying, Thus saith Jehovah concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah the prophet hath prophesied to you, and I sent him not, and he hath caused you to trust in a lie,
32 Portanto assim diz o Senhor: Eis que visitarei a Semaias, o nehelamita, e a sua semente: elle não terá ninguem que habite entre este povo, e não verá o bem que hei de fazer ao meu povo, diz o Senhor, porquanto fallou rebellião contra o Senhor.
therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will punish Shemaiah, the Nehelamite, and his offspring. There shall descend from him not a man to dwell among this people, and he shall not behold the good which I will do for my people, saith Jehovah; for he hath spoken rebellion against Jehovah.
