Isaías 59
1 Eis que a mão do Senhor não está encolhida, para que não possa salvar; nem o seu ouvido aggravado, para não poder ouvir.
Beholde, the Lordes hande is not shortened, that it can not saue: neither is his eare heauie, that it cannot heare.
2 Mas as vossas iniquidades fazem divisão entre vós e o vosso Deus: e os vossos peccados encobrem o seu rosto de vós, para que não ouça.
But your iniquities haue separated betweene you and your God, and your sinnes haue hidde his face from you, that he will not heare.
3 Porque as vossas mãos estão contaminadas de sangue, e os vossos dedos de iniquidade: os vossos labios fallam falsidade, a vossa lingua pronuncia perversidade.
For your handes are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquitie: your lips haue spoken lies and your tongue hath murmured iniquitie.
4 Ninguem ha que clame pela justiça, nem ninguem que compareça em juizo pela verdade; confiam na vaidade, e andam fallando mentiras; concebem o trabalho, e parem a iniquidade.
No man calleth for iustice: no man contendeth for trueth: they trust in vanitie, and speake vaine things: they conceiue mischiefe, and bring foorth iniquitie.
5 Ovos de basilisco chocam, e tecem teias de aranha: o que comer dos ovos d'elles morrerá; e, apertando-os, sae d'elles uma vibora.
They hatch cockatrice egges, and weaue the spiders webbe: he that eateth of their egges, dieth, and that which is trode vpon, breaketh out into a serpent.
6 As suas teias não prestam para vestidos, nem se poderão cobrir com as suas obras: as suas obras são obras de iniquidade, e obra de violencia ha nas suas mãos.
Their webbes shall be no garment, neither shall they couer themselues with their labours: for their workes are workes of iniquitie, and the worke of crueltie is in their handes.
7 Os seus pés correm para o mal, e se apressam para derramarem o sangue innocente: os seus pensamentos são pensamentos de iniquidade, destruição e quebrantamento ha nas suas estradas.
Their feete runne to euill, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are wicked thoughts: desolation and destruction is in their paths.
8 O caminho da paz não conhecem, nem ha juizo nos seus passos: as suas veredas torcem para si mesmos; todo aquelle que anda por ellas não tem conhecimento da paz.
The way of peace they knowe not, and there is none equitie in their goings: they haue made them crooked paths: whosoeuer goeth therein, shall not knowe peace.
9 Pelo que o juizo está longe de nós, e a justiça não nos alcança; esperámos pela luz, e eis que trevas nos veem; pelo resplandor, mas andamos em escuridão.
Therefore is iudgement farre from vs, neither doeth iustice come neere vnto vs: we waite for light, but loe, it is darkenesse: for brightnesse, but we walke in darkenesse.
10 Apalpamos as paredes como cegos, e como sem olhos andamos apalpando: tropeçamos ao meio-dia como nas trevas, e nos logares escuros como mortos.
Wee grope for the wall like the blinde, and we grope as one without eyes: we stumble at the noone day as in the twilight: we are in solitarie places, as dead men.
11 Todos nós bramamos como ursos, e continuamente gememos como pombas: esperamos pelo juizo, e não o ha; pela salvação, e está longe de nós.
We roare all like beares, and mourne like dooues: wee looke for equitie, but there is none: for health, but it is farre from vs.
12 Porque as nossas transgressões se multiplicaram perante ti, e os nossos peccados testificam contra nós; porque as nossas transgressões estão comnosco, e conhecemos as nossas iniquidades;
For our trespasses are many before thee, and our sinnes testifie against vs: for our trespasses are with vs, and we knowe our iniquities
13 Como o prevaricar, e mentir contra o Senhor, e o retirar-se de após o nosso Deus, o fallar de oppressão e rebellião, o conceber e inventar palavras de falsidade do coração.
In trespassing and lying against the Lord, and wee haue departed away from our God, and haue spoken of crueltie and rebellion, conceiuing and vttering out of the heart false matters.
14 Pelo que o juizo se tornou atraz, e a justiça se poz de longe; porque a verdade anda tropeçando pelas ruas, e a equidade não pode entrar.
Therefore iudgement is turned backewarde, and iustice standeth farre off: for trueth is fallen in the streete, and equitie cannot enter.
15 Sim, a verdade desfallece, e quem se desvia do mal arrisca-se a ser despojado: e o Senhor o viu, e pareceu mal aos seus olhos, por não haver juizo.
Yea, trueth faileth, and hee that refraineth from euill, maketh himselfe a praye: and when the Lord sawe it, it displeased him, that there was no iudgement.
16 E vendo que ninguem havia, maravilhou-se de que não houvesse algum intercessor; pelo que o seu proprio braço lhe trouxe a salvação, e a sua propria justiça o susteve;
And when he sawe that there was no man, hee wondered that none woulde offer him selfe. Therefore his arme did saue it, and his righteousnes it selfe did sustaine it.
17 Porque se vestiu de justiça, como de uma couraça, e poz o elmo da salvação na sua cabeça, e vestiu-se de vestidos de vingança por vestidura, e cobriu-se de zelo, como de um manto
For he put on righteousnes, as an habergeon, and an helmet of saluation vpon his head, and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeale as a cloke.
18 Conforme as obras d'elles, assim dará a recompensa, furor aos seus adversarios, e recompensa aos seus inimigos: ás ilhas dará o pago.
As to make recompence, as to requite the furie of the aduersaries with a recompence to his enemies: he will fully repaire the ylands.
19 Então temerão o nome do Senhor desde o poente, e a sua gloria desde o nascente do sol: vindo o inimigo como uma corrente de aguas, o Espirito do Senhor arvorará a bandeira contra elle.
So shall they feare the Name of the Lord from the West, and his glory from the rising of the sunne: for the enemie shall come like a flood: but the Spirit of the Lord shall chase him away.
20 E virá um Redemptor a Sião e aos que se convertem da transgressão em Jacob, diz o Senhor.
And the Redeemer shall come vnto Zion, and vnto them that turne from iniquitie in Iaakob, saith the Lord.
21 Quanto a mim, este é o meu concerto com elles, diz o Senhor: o meu espirito, que está sobre ti, e as minhas palavras, que puz em tua bocca, não se desviarão da tua bocca nem da bocca da tua semente, nem da bocca da semente da tua semente, diz o Senhor, desde agora e para todo o sempre.
And I will make this my couenant with them, saith the Lord. My Spirit that is vpon thee, and my wordes, which I haue put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seede, nor out of the mouth of the seede of thy seede, saith the Lord, from hencefoorth euen for euer.
