Isaías 50
1 Assim diz o Senhor: Que libello de divorcio é este de vossa mãe, pelo qual eu a repudiei? ou quem é o meu crédor, a quem eu vos tenha vendido? eis que por vossas maldades fostes vendidos, e por vossas prevaricações vossa mãe foi repudiada.
Thus says Jehovah, Where is the bill of your mother's divorcement, with which I have put her away? Or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities ye were sold, and for your transgressions your mother was put away.
2 Por que razão vim eu, e ninguem appareceu? chamei, e ninguem respondeu? porventura tanto se encolheu a minha mão, que já não possa remir? ou não ha mais força em mim para livrar? eis que com a minha reprehensão faço seccar o mar, torno os rios em deserto, até que cheirem mal os seus peixes, porquanto não teem agua e morrem de sêde.
Why, when I came, was there no man? When I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea. I make the rivers a wilderness. Their fish stink because there is no water, and die for thirst.
3 Eu visto os céus de negridão, e pôr-lhes-hei um sacco para a sua cobertura.
I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.
4 O Senhor Jehovah me deu uma lingua erudita, para que saiba fallar a seu tempo uma boa palavra com o cançado: desperta-me todas as manhãs, desperta-me o ouvido para que ouça, como aquelles que aprendem.
The lord Jehovah has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with words him who is weary. He awakens morning by morning. He awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.
5 O Senhor Jehovah me abriu os ouvidos, e eu não sou rebelde: não me retiro para traz.
The lord Jehovah has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, nor turned away backward.
6 As minhas costas dou aos que me ferem, e as minhas faces aos que me arrancam os cabellos: não escondo a minha face de opprobrios e de escarros.
I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to those who plucked off the hair. I did not hide my face from shame and spitting.
7 Porque o Senhor Jehovah me ajuda, pelo que me não confundo: por isso puz o meu rosto como um seixo, porque sei que não serei confundido.
For the lord Jehovah will help me. Therefore I have not been confounded. Therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame.
8 Perto está o que me justifica; quem contenderá comigo? compareçamos juntamente: quem tem alguma causa contra mim? chegue-se para mim.
He is near who justifies me. Who will contend with me? Let us stand up together. Who is my adversary? Let him come near to me.
9 Eis que o Senhor Jehovah me ajuda; quem ha que me condemne? eis que todos elles como vestidos se envelhecerão, e a traça os comerá.
Behold, the lord Jehovah will help me. Who is he who shall condemn me? Behold, all they shall grow old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.
10 Quem ha entre vós que tema a Jehovah, e ouça a voz do seu servo? quando andar em trevas, e não tiver luz nenhuma, confie no nome do Senhor, e firme-se sobre o seu Deus.
Who is among you that fears Jehovah, who obeys the voice of his servant? He who walks in darkness, and has no light, let him trust in the name of Jehovah, and rely upon his God.
11 Eis que todos vós, que accendeis fogo, e vos cingis com faiscas, andae entre as labaredas do vosso fogo, e entre as faiscas que accendestes: isto vos vem da minha mão, e em tormentos jazereis.
Behold, all ye who kindle a fire, who gird yourselves about with firebrands, walk ye in the flame of your fire, and among the brands that ye have kindled. This ye shall have from my hand. Ye shall lie down in sorrow.
