Isaías 48
1 Ouvi isto, casa de Jacob, que vos chamaes do nome d'Israel, e saistes das aguas de Judah, que juraes pelo nome do Senhor, e fazeis menção do Deus de Israel, porém não em verdade nem em justiça.
Listen to this, descendants of Jacob, called by the name of Israel, and who come from the lineage of Judah. Listen, you people who swear by the name of the Lord, or who invoke the God of Israel, but not truly or sincerely.
2 E até da sancta cidade se nomeiam, e se firmam sobre o Deus de Israel; o Senhor dos Exercitos é o seu nome.
You say you're from the “Holy City,” and claim you're trusting in the God of Israel, whose name is the Lord Almighty.
3 As coisas passadas já desde então annunciei, e procederam da minha bocca, e eu as fiz ouvir: apressuradamente as fiz, e vieram.
I predicted long ago what was going to happen—I said it and let people know. Then suddenly I decided to act, and it all came true.
4 Porque eu sabia que eras duro, e a tua cerviz um nervo de ferro, e a tua testa de bronze.
I know how stubborn you are, with necks as unbending as iron and foreheads as hard as bronze.
5 Por isso t'o annunciei desde então, e t'o fiz ouvir antes que viesse, para que porventura não dissesses: O meu idolo fez estas coisas, ou a minha imagem de esculptura, ou a minha imagem de fundição as mandou.
I predicted these things to you long ago, before they happened. I explained them to you so that you couldn't say “My idol did this,” or “My image and my metal god ordered this to happen.”
6 Já o tens ouvido; olha bem para tudo isto; porventura assim vós o não annunciareis? desde agora te faço ouvir coisas novas e occultas, e que nunca conheceste.
You've heard all I predicted, and seen it happen. Won't you admit it? Now I'm going to tell you new things, secrets you don't know anything about.
7 Agora foram creadas, e não desde então, e antes d'este dia não as ouviste, para que porventura não digas: Eis que já eu as sabia.
These are brand-new, not something from the past. Before today you won't have heard anything about them, so you can't say, “Oh yes, I know about that.”
8 Nem tu as ouviste, nem tu as conheceste, nem tão pouco desde então foi aberto o teu ouvido, porque eu sabia que obrarias muito perfidamente, e que foste chamado prevaricador desde o ventre.
No, you've never heard that, and you've never known that! Nobody's told you about that before! I know how deviously you operate—you're called “rebels from birth”!
9 Por amor do meu nome dilatarei a minha ira, e por amor do meu louvor me refrearei para comtigo, para que te não venha a cortar.
But because of my nature I am delaying my punishment; and because of my reputation, I'm not going to destroy you.
10 Eis que já te purifiquei, porém não como a prata: escolhi-te na fornalha da afflicção.
Look how I've refined you, but not like silver—I chose you in the furnace of trouble.
11 Por amor de mim, por amor de mim o farei, porque como seria profanado o meu nome? e a minha honra não a darei a outrem.
The reason I'm doing this is because of who I am, yes, because of my very nature. I won't let my reputation be damaged—I won't let anyone else have it.
12 Dá-me ouvidos, ó Jacob, e tu, ó Israel, a quem chamei; eu sou o mesmo, eu o primeiro, eu tambem o ultimo.
Listen to me, Jacon, and Israel, the one I called. Only I am God. I am the first, and I am the last.
13 Tambem a minha mão fundou a terra, e a minha dextra mediu os céus a palmos; eu os chamarei, e apparecerão juntos.
I laid the foundations of the earth with my own hands; I personally spread out the heavens. When I call the stars, they all take their positions.
14 Ajuntae-vos todos vós, e ouvi: Quem ha, d'entre elles, que annunciasse estas coisas? O Senhor o amou, e executará a sua vontade contra Babylonia, e o seu braço será contra os chaldeos.
Everyone gather round and listen. Which of your “gods” told you anything like this? The one the Lord loves will carry out the Lord's wishes against Babylon—he will attack the Babylonians.
15 Eu, eu o tenho dito; tambem já eu o chamei, e o farei vir, e farei prospero o seu caminho.
I myself have spoken. I have called him to do this, and he will be successful in what he does.
16 Chegae-vos a mim, ouvi isto: Não fallei em occulto desde o principio, mas desde o tempo em que aquillo se fez eu estava ali, e agora o Senhor Jehovah me enviou o seu Espirito.
Come close to me, and listen to this. From the very beginning I haven't spoken in secret; I am always there right when it happens. Now the Lord God and his Spirit has sent me to tell you this:
17 Assim diz o Senhor, o teu Redemptor, o Sancto de Israel: Eu sou o Senhor, o teu Deus, que te ensina o que é util, e te guia pelo caminho em que deves andar.
This is what the Lord says, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, I am the Lord your God. I am the one who teaches you what is good for you, who leads you along the way you should go.
18 Ah! se déras ouvidos aos meus mandamentos! então seria a tua paz como o rio, e a tua justiça como as ondas do mar.
If you had only listened carefully to what I told you! Then your blessings would have flowed like a river, and goodness would have washed over you like the waves of the sea.
19 Tambem a tua semente seria como a areia, e os que procedem das tuas entranhas como o burgalhão d'ella, cujo nome nunca seria cortado nem destruido da minha face.
Your children, your descendants, would have been like all those grains of sand. They wouldn't have had to be destroyed, wiped out before me.
20 Sahi de Babylonia, fugi de entre os chaldeos. E annunciae com voz de jubilo; fazei ouvir isso, e levae-o até ao fim da terra: dizei: O Senhor remiu a seu servo Jacob.
Leave Babylon! Run away from Babylonia with happy shouts! Let everyone know, telling the whole earth, “The Lord has redeemed his servant Jacob!”
21 E não tinham sêde, quando os levava pelos desertos; fez-lhes correr agua da rocha: fendendo elle as rochas, as aguas manavam d'ellas.
They weren't thirsty when he led them through the desert—he made water come out of the rock for them. He split the rock open and water poured out.
22 Porém os impios não teem paz, disse o Senhor.
The wicked have no peace, says the Lord.
