Isaías 46
1 Já Bel abatido está, já Nebo se encurvou, os seus idolos são postos sobre os animaes e sobre as bestas: as cargas dos vossos fardos são canceira para as bestas já cançadas.
Bel bows down, Nebo stoops; their idols are on the animals, and on the livestock: the things that you carried about are made a load, a burden to the weary.
2 Juntamente se encurvaram e se abateram; não poderam escapar da carga, mas a sua alma entrou em captiveiro.
They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but they have gone into captivity.
3 Ouvi-me, ó casa de Jacob, e todo o residuo da casa de Israel; vós a quem trouxe nos braços desde o ventre, e levei desde a madre.
"Listen to me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, that have been borne from their birth, that have been carried from the womb;
4 E até á velhice eu serei o mesmo, e ainda até ás cãs eu vos trarei: eu o fiz, e eu vos levarei, e eu vos trarei, e vos guardarei.
and even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear; yes, I will carry, and will deliver.
5 A quem me fareis similhante, e com quem me egualareis, e me comparareis, para que sejamos similhantes?
"To whom will you liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?
6 Gastam o oiro da bolsa, e pesam a prata com as balanças: alugam o ourives, e d'aquillo faz um deus, e diante d'elle se prostram e se inclinam.
Some pour out gold from the bag, and weigh silver in the balance. They hire a goldsmith, and he makes it a god. They fall down—yes, they worship.
7 Sobre os hombros o tomam, o levam, e o põem no seu logar; ali está em pé, do seu logar não se move: e, se alguem clama a elle, resposta nenhuma dá, nem o livra da sua tribulação.
They bear it on the shoulder, they carry it, and set it in its place, and it stands, from its place it shall not move: yes, one may cry to it, yet it can not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.
8 Lembrae-vos d'isto, e tende animo: reconduzi-o ao coração, ó prevaricadores.
"Remember this, and show yourselves men; bring it again to mind, you transgressors.
9 Lembrae-vos das coisas passadas desde a antiguidade: que eu sou Deus, e não ha outro Deus, não ha outro similhante a mim;
Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me;
10 Que annuncio o fim desde o principio, e desde a antiguidade as coisas que ainda não succederam; que digo: O meu conselho será firme, e farei toda a minha vontade;
declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done; saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure;
11 Que chamo a ave de rapina desde o oriente, e o homem do meu conselho desde terras remotas; porque assim o disse, e assim o farei vir; eu o formei, e tambem o farei.
calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country; yes, I have spoken, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed, I will also do it.
12 Ouvi-me, ó duros de coração, os que estaes longe da justiça.
Listen to me, you stubborn of heart, who are far from righteousness:
13 Faço chegar a minha justiça, e não estará ao longe, e a minha salvação não tardará: mas estabelecerei em Sião a salvação, e em Israel a minha gloria.
I bring near my righteousness, it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not wait; and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.
