Isaías 38

1 N'aquelles dias Ezequias adoeceu d'uma enfermidade mortal: e veiu a elle Isaias, filho d'Amós, o propheta, e lhe disse: Assim diz o Senhor: Ordena a tua casa, porque morrerás, e não viverás.

In those days was Hezekiah sick and near death. Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, came to him, and said to him, "Thus says the LORD, 'Set your house in order, for you will die, and not live.'"

2 Então virou Ezequias o seu rosto para a parede; e orou ao Senhor.

Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD,

3 E disse: Ah Senhor, lembra-te, te peço, de que andei diante de ti em verdade, e com coração perfeito, e fiz o que era recto aos teus olhos. E chorou Ezequias muitissimo.

and said, "Remember now, the LORD, I beg you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight." Hezekiah wept bitterly.

4 Então veiu a palavra do Senhor a Isaias, dizendo:

Then the word of the LORD came to Isaiah, saying,

5 Vae, e dize a Ezequias: Assim diz o Senhor, o Deus de David teu pae: Ouvi a tua oração, e vi as tuas lagrimas; eis que accrescento sobre os teus dias quinze annos.

"Go, and tell Hezekiah, 'Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father, "I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Look, I will add fifteen years to your life.

6 E livrar-te-hei das mãos do rei da Assyria, a ti, e a esta cidade, e ampararei a esta cidade.

I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city.

7 E isto te será por signal da parte do Senhor de que o Senhor cumprirá esta palavra que fallou.

This shall be the sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he has spoken.

8 Eis que farei tornar a sombra dos graus, que declinou com o sol pelos graus do relogio d'Achaz dez graus atraz. Assim tornou o sol dez graus atraz, pelos graus que já tinha descido.

Look, I will cause the shadow on the steps, which has gone down with the sun on the upper steps of Ahaz, to go backward ten steps. So the sun returned ten steps on the sundial on which it had gone down."'"

9 Escripturas d'Ezequias, rei de Judah, de quando adoeceu e sarou de sua enfermidade.

10 Eu disse no cessar de meus dias: Ir-me-hei ás portas da sepultura: já estou privado do resto de meus annos. (Sheol h7585)

I said, "In the middle of my life I go into the gates of Sheol. I am deprived of the residue of my years." (Sheol h7585)

11 Disse tambem: Já não verei mais ao Senhor, digo, na terra dos viventes: jámais verei o homem com os moradores do mundo.

I said, "I won't see the LORD in the land of the living. I will not look on humankind any longer with the inhabitants of the world.

12 Já o tempo da minha vida se foi, e foi trespassado de mim, como choça de pastor: cortei a minha vida, como tecelão que corta a sua teia; como desde os liços me cortará; desde o dia até á noite me acabarás.

My dwelling is removed, and is carried away from me like a shepherd's tent. I have rolled up, like a weaver, my life. He will cut me off from the loom. From day even to night you will make an end of me.

13 Isto me propunha até á madrugada, que, como um leão, quebrantaria todos os meus ossos: desde o dia até á noite me acabarás.

14 Como o grou, ou a andorinha, assim chilreava, e gemia como a pomba: alçava os meus olhos ao alto; ó Senhor ando opprimido, fica por meu fiador.

I chip like a swallow or a thrush. I moan like a dove. My eyes weaken looking upward. LORD, I am oppressed. Be my security."

15 Que direi? como m'o prometteu, assim o fez: assim passarei mansamente por todos os meus annos, por causa da amargura da minha alma.

What will I say? He has both spoken to me, and himself has done it. I will walk carefully all my years because of the anguish of my soul.

16 Senhor, com estas coisas se vive, e em todas ellas está a vida do meu espirito, porque tu me curaste e me saraste.

The LORD is against them, but they live, and all of them who live have his spirit. Restore me to health and let me live.

17 Eis que até na paz a amargura me foi amarga; tu porém tão amorosamente abraçaste a minha alma, que não caiu na cova da corrupção; porque lançaste para traz das tuas costas todos os meus peccados.

Look, for peace I had great anguish, but you have in love for my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption; for you have cast all my sins behind your back.

18 Porque não te louvará a sepultura, nem a morte te glorificará: nem tão pouco esperarão em tua verdade os que descem á cova. (Sheol h7585)

For Sheol can't praise you. And death can't celebrate you. And those who go down into the pit can't hope for your truth. (Sheol h7585)

19 O vivente, o vivente, esse te louvará como eu hoje o faço: o pae aos filhos fará notoria a tua verdade.

The living, the living, he shall praise you, as I do this day. The father shall make known your truth to the children.

20 O Senhor veiu salvar-me; pelo que, tangendo em meus instrumentos, lhe cantaremos todos os dias de nossa vida na casa do Senhor.

The LORD will save me. Therefore we will sing my songs with stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.

21 E dissera Isaias: Tomem uma pasta de figos, e a ponham como emplasto sobre a chaga; e sarará.

Now Isaiah had said, "Let them take a cake of figs, and lay it for a poultice on the boil, and he shall recover."

22 Tambem dissera Ezequias: Qual será o signal de que hei de subir á casa do Senhor?

Hezekiah also had said, "What is the sign that I will go up to the house of the LORD?"
