Isaías 34
1 Chegae-vos, nações, para ouvir, e vós, povos, escutae: ouça a terra, e a sua plenitude, o mundo, e tudo quanto produz.
Come near ye nations to hear, And, ye races, attend, —Let the earth hear, and the fulness thereof, The world and all things produced therefrom:
2 Porque a indignação do Senhor está sobre todas as nações, e o seu furor sobre todo o seu exercito: elle as destruiu totalmente, entregou-as á matança.
That Yahweh hath wrath against all the nations, and indignation against all their host, —He hath devoted them to destruction He hath delivered them to slaughter;
3 E os seus mortos serão arremeçados e dos seus corpos subirá o seu fedor; e os montes se derreterão com o seu sangue.
And their slain shall be cast out, And their carcases, the stench of them shall ascend, —And, the mountains, shall melt away with their blood.
4 E todo o exercito dos céus se gastará, e os céus se enrolarão como um livro: e todo o seu exercito cairá, como cae a folha da vide, e como cae o figo da figueira.
Then shall be dissolved all the host of the heavens, And the heavens shall roll up as a scroll, —Yea, all their host, shall fade—Like the fading and falling of a leaf from a vine, and Like what fadeth and falleth from a fig-tree.
5 Porque a minha espada se embriagou nos céus: eis que sobre Edom descerá, e sobre o povo do meu anathema para juizo.
For my sword hath been sated in the heavens, —Lo! upon Edom, shall it descend, Even on the people whom I have devoted to justice.
6 A espada do Senhor está cheia de sangue, está engordurada da gordura de sangue de cordeiros e de bodes, da gordura dos rins de carneiros; porque o Senhor tem sacrificio em Bozra, e grande matança na terra de Edom.
A sword, hath Yahweh—Glutted with blood Sated with fat, —With the blood of well-fed lambs and he-goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams, —For, a sacrifice, hath Yahweh in Bozrah, Yea a great slaughter in the land of Edom;
7 E os unicornios descerão com elles, e os bezerros com os toiros: e a sua terra beberá sangue até se fartar, e o seu pó de gordura engordará.
Then shall buffaloes come down with them, And bullocks with bulls, —So shall their land be soaked with blood, And, their dust, with fat, shall be enriched.
8 Porque será o dia da vingança do Senhor, anno de retribuições pela porfia de Sião.
For a day of avenging, hath Yahweh, —A year of requitals for the quarrel of Zion.
9 E os seus ribeiros se tornarão em pez, e o seu pó em enxofre, e a sua terra em pez ardente.
Then shall the torrents thereof be turned into pitch, And the dust thereof, into brimstone, —So shall her land become burning pitch:
10 Nem de noite nem de dia se apagará; para sempre o seu fumo subirá: de geração em geração será assolada; de seculo em seculo ninguem passará por ella.
Neither night nor day, shall it be quenched, To times age-abiding, shall ascend the smoke thereof, —From generation to generation, shall it be waste, Never, never, shall any pass through it:
11 Mas o pelicano e a coruja a possuirão, e o bufo e o corvo habitarão n'ella: porque estenderá sobre ella cordel de confusão e nivel de vaidade.
That the vomiting pelican and the bittern may possess it: And the great owl and the raven, dwell therein; Then will he stretch out over it The line of desolation, and The plummet of emptiness.
12 Os seus nobres (que já não ha n'ella) ao reino chamarão; porém todos os seus principes não serão coisa nenhuma.
Her nobles (but none, are, there)! unto royalty, will call, —All, all her princes, shall become nought.
13 E nos seus palacios crescerão espinhos, ortigas e cardos nas suas fortalezas; e será uma habitação de dragões, e sala para os filhos do avestruz.
Then shall come up, in her palaces thorns Nettles and thistles in her fortresses, —And she shall become A home for wild dogs, An enclosure for ostriches;
14 E os cães bravos se encontrarão com os gatos bravos; e o demonio clamará ao seu companheiro: e os animaes nocturnos ali pousarão, e acharão logar de repouso para si.
Then shall criers meet with howlers, And, the shaggy creature, unto his fellow, shall call, —Only, there, shall, the night-spectre, Make her settlement, And find for herself a place of rest:
15 Ali se aninhará a melroa e porá os seus ovos, e tirará os seus pintãos, e os recolherá debaixo da sua sombra: tambem ali os abutres se ajuntarão uns com os outros.
There, shall, the arrow-snake, Make her nest and lay, And hatch and gather under her shadow, —Only, there, shall be gathered the falcons, every one with her mate.
16 Buscae no livro do Senhor, e lêde; nenhuma d'estas coisas falhará, nem uma nem outra faltará; porque a minha propria bocca o ordenou, e o seu espirito mesmo as ajuntará.
Seek ye out of the scroll of Yahweh, and read, Not, one from among them, is lacking, None, hath missed, her mate, —For, a mouth, hath, itself commanded, And, his spirit, hath itself gathered them:
17 Porque elle mesmo lançou as sortes por elles, e a sua mão lh'a repartiu com o cordel: para sempre a possuirão, de geração em geração habitarão n'ella.
Yea he himself, hath cast for them a lot, And his own hand, hath given to them a portion by line, —Unto times age-abiding, shall they possess it, To generation after generation, shall they dwell therein.
