Isaías 32

1 Eis ahi está que reinará um Rei em justiça, e dominarão os principes segundo o juizo.

Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and rulers shall rule in justice.

2 E será aquelle Varão como um esconderijo contra o vento, e um refugio contra a tempestade, como ribeiros d'aguas em logares seccos, e como a sombra d'uma grande rocha em terra sedenta.

And a man shall be as a hiding-place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest, as streams of water in a dry place, as the shade of a great rock in a weary land.

3 E os olhos dos que veem não olharão para traz: e os ouvidos dos que ouvem estarão attentos.

And the eyes of those who see shall not be dim, and the ears of those who hear shall hearken.

4 E o coração dos imprudentes entenderá a sabedoria; e a lingua dos gagos estará prompta para fallar distinctamente.

And the heart of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.

5 Ao louco nunca mais se chamará liberal; e do avarento nunca mais se dirá que é generoso.

The fool shall no more be called noble, nor the churl said to be bountiful.

6 Porque o louco falla louquices, e o seu coração obra a iniquidade, para usar d'hypocrisia, e para fallar erros contra o Senhor, para deixar vazia a alma do faminto, e fazer com que o sedento venha a ter falta de beber.

For the fool will speak folly, and his heart will work iniquity, to practice profaneness, and to utter error against Jehovah, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and to cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

7 Tambem todos os instrumentos do avarento são maus: elle maquina invenções malignas, para destruir os afflictos com palavras falsas, como tambem ao juizo, quando o pobre chega a fallar.

And the instruments of the churl are evil. He devises wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaks right.

8 Mas o liberal projecta liberalidade, e pela liberalidade está em pé.

But a noble man devises noble things, and in noble things he shall continue.

9 Levantae-vos, mulheres que estaes em repouso, e ouvi a minha voz: e vós, filhas, que estaes tão seguras, inclinae os ouvidos ás minhas palavras.

Rise up, ye women who are at ease. Hear my voice, ye careless daughters. Give ear to my speech.

10 Muitos dias de mais do anno vireis a ser turbadas, ó filhas que estaes tão seguras; porque a vindima se acabará, e a colheita não virá.

For ye shall be troubled days beyond a year, ye careless women. For the vintage shall fail; the ingathering shall not come.

11 Tremei vós que estaes em repouso, e turbae-vos vós, filhas, que estaes tão seguras: despi-vos, e ponde-vos nuas, e cingi com sacco os vossoss lombos.

Tremble, ye women who are at ease. Be troubled, ye careless ones. Strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.

12 Lamentar-se-ha sobre os peitos, sobre os campos desejaveis, e sobre as vides fructuosas.

They shall beat upon the breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.

13 Sobre a terra do meu povo virão espinheiros e sarças; como tambem sobre todas as casas de alegria, na cidade que anda pulando de prazer.

Thorns and briers shall come up on the land of my people, yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city.

14 Porque o palacio será desamparado, o arroido da cidade cessará: e Ophel e as torres da guarda servirão de cavernas eternamente, para alegria dos jumentos montezes, e para pasto dos gados;

For the palace shall be forsaken. The populous city shall be deserted. The hill and the watch-tower shall be for dens forever, a joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks,

15 Até que se derrame sobre nós o espirito do alto: então o deserto se tornará em campo fertil, e o campo fertil será reputado por um bosque.

until the Spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be esteemed as a forest.

16 E o juizo habitará no deserto, e a justiça morará no campo fertil.

Then justice shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness shall abide in the fruitful field.

17 E o effeito da justiça será paz, e a operação da justiça repouso e segurança, para sempre.

And the work of righteousness shall be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever.

18 E o meu povo habitará em morada de paz, e em moradas bem seguras, e em logares quietos de descanço.

And my people shall abide in a peaceable habitation, and in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting-places.

19 Mas, descendo ao bosque, saraivará e a cidade se abaixará inteiramente.

But it shall hail in the downfall of the forest, and the city shall be utterly laid low.

20 Bemaventurados vós os que semeaes sobre todas as aguas: e para lá enviaes o pé do boi e do jumento.

Blessed are ye who sow beside all waters, who send forth the feet of the ox and the donkey.
