Isaías 28
1 Ai da corôa de soberba dos bebados de Ephraim, cujo glorioso ornamento é como a flor que cae, que está sobre a cabeça do fertil valle dos feridos do vinho.
Woe to the proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim, To the fading flower, his glorious beauty, At the head of the rich valley of a people stupefied with wine.
2 Eis que o Senhor tem um valente e poderoso que como um alagamento de saraiva, tormenta de destruição, e como um alagamento de impetuosas aguas que trasbordam, com a mão derribará por terra.
Behold a strong, a mighty one from the Lord Like a storm of hail, like a destructive tempest, Like a flood of mighty, overflowing waters, With violence shall dash it to the ground.
3 A corôa de soberba dos bebados de Ephraim será pisada aos pés.
It shall be trodden under foot, The proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim.
4 E a flor caida do seu glorioso ornamento, que está sobre a cabeça do fertil valle, será como a bêbera antes do verão, que, vendo a alguem, e tendo-a ainda na mão, a engole.
And the fading flower, their glorious beauty, At the head of the rich valley, Shall be as the early fig before the time of harvest, Which whoso seeth plucketh immediately, And swalloweth as soon as it is in his hand.
5 N'aquelle dia o Senhor dos Exercitos será por corôa gloriosa, e por grinalda formosa, para os residuos de seu povo;
In that day shall Jehovah of hosts Be a glorious crown, and a beautiful diadem to the residue of his people;
6 E por espirito de juizo, para o que se assenta a julgar, e por fortaleza para os que fazem retirar a peleja até á porta.
A spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, And of strength to them that drive back the enemy to their gates.
7 Mas tambem estes erram com o vinho e com a bebida forte se desencaminham: até o sacerdote e o propheta erram por causa da bebida forte; são devorados do vinho; se desencaminham com a bebida forte, andam errados na visão, e tropeçam no juizo.
But even these stagger through wine, And reel through strong drink; The priest and the prophet stagger through strong drink; They are overpowered with wine; They stumble through strong drink; They reel in vision, They stagger in judgment.
8 Porque todas as suas mesas estão cheias de vomitos e sujidade, até não haver mais logar limpo.
For all their tables are full of filthy vomit, So that there is no place clean.
9 A quem pois se ensinaria a sciencia? e a quem se daria a entender o que se ouviu? ao desmamado do leite, e ao arrancado dos peitos.
“Whom,” say they, “will he teach knowledge, And to whom will he impart instruction? To the weaned from the milk? To those just taken from the breast?
10 Porque é mandamento, sobre mandamento, mandamento sobre mandamento, regra sobre regra, regra sobre regra: um pouco aqui, um pouco ali.
For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept, Command upon command, command upon command, A little here, and a little there.”
11 Pelo que por labios de gago, e por outra lingua, fallará a este povo.
Yea, with stammering lips and a strange tongue He shall indeed speak to this people;
12 Ao qual disse: Este é o descanço, dae descanço ao cançado, e este é o refrigerio: porém não quizeram ouvir.
He that said to them, “This is the way of rest, give rest to the weary; This is the way of safety”; But they would not hear.
13 Assim pois a palavra do Senhor lhes será mandamento sobre mandamento, mandamento sobre mandamento, regra sobre regra, regra sobre regra, um pouco aqui, um pouco ali; para que vão, e caiam para traz, e se quebrantem, e se enlacem, e sejam presos.
Then shall the word of Jehovah be indeed to them “Precept upon precept, precept upon precept, Command upon command, command upon command, A little here, and a little there,” So that they shall go on, and fall backwards, and be broken, And be snared and caught.
14 Pelo que ouvi a palavra do Senhor, homens escarnecedores, que dominam este povo, que está em Jerusalem.
Wherefore hear ye the word of Jehovah, Ye scoffers, who rule this people in Jerusalem!
15 Porquanto dizeis: Fizemos concerto com a morte, e com o inferno fizemos alliança; quando passar o diluvio do açoite, não chegará a nós, porque pozemos a mentira por nosso refugio, e debaixo da falsidade nos escondemos. (Sheol h7585)
Since ye say, “We have entered into a covenant with death, And with the under-world have we made an agreement, The overflowing scourge, when it passeth through, shall not reach us; For we have made falsehood our refuge, And in deceit we have hidden ourselves.” (Sheol h7585)
16 Portanto assim diz o Senhor Jehovah: Eis que eu fundo em Sião uma pedra, uma pedra já provada, pedra preciosa de esquina, que está bem firme e fundada: aquelle que crer não se apresse.
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I have laid in Zion as a foundation a stone, A tried stone, a precious corner-stone, a sure foundation; He that trusteth shall not flee away.
17 E regrarei o juizo ao cordel, e a justiça ao nivel, e a saraiva varrerá o refugio da mentira, e as aguas cobrirão o esconderijo.
I will make justice a line, And righteousness a plummet, And the hail shall sweep away the refuge of falsehood, And the waters shall overwhelm its hiding-place;
18 E o vosso concerto com a morte se annulará; e a vossa alliança com o inferno não subsistirá; e, quando o diluvio do açoite passar, então sereis d'elle pisados. (Sheol h7585)
And your covenant with death shall be broken, And your agreement with the under-world shall not stand; When the overflowing scourge shall pass through, By it shall ye be beaten down. (Sheol h7585)
19 Desde que começa a passar, vos arrebatará, porque todas as manhãs passará, de dia e de noite: e será que sómente o ouvir a fama causará grande turbação.
As often as it passeth through, it shall bear you away; For every morning shall it pass through, By day and by night; Even to hear the rumor of it shall be terrible.
20 Porque a cama será tão curta que ninguem se poderá estender n'ella; e o cobertor tão estreito que se não possa cobrir com elle
Yea, the bed is too short for one to stretch himself on it, And the covering too narrow for one to wrap himself in it.
21 Porque o Senhor se levantará como no monte de Perazim, e se irará, como no valle de Gibeon, para fazer a sua obra, a sua estranha obra, e para executar o seu acto, o seu estranho acto.
For Jehovah will rise up, as in mount Perazim; He will be moved with anger, as in the valley of Gibeon, To perform his act, his strange act, And to execute his work, his strange work.
22 Agora pois mais não escarneçaes, para que vossas ataduras se não façam mais fortes: porque já ao Senhor Jehovah dos Exercitos ouvi fallar d'uma destruição, e essa já está determinada sobre toda a terra.
Now, therefore, be ye no longer scoffers, Lest your bands become stronger; For destruction and punishment have been revealed to me From Jehovah of hosts concerning the whole land!
23 Inclinae os ouvidos, e ouvi a minha voz: attendei bem, e ouvi o meu discurso.
Give ear, and listen to my voice, Attend, and hearken to my words!
24 Porventura lavra todo o dia o lavrador, para semear? ou abre e desterroa todo o dia a sua terra?
Is the ploughman always ploughing in order to sow? Is he always opening and harrowing his field?
25 Porventura não é assim? quando já tem gradado a sua superficie, então esparge n'ella ervilhaca, e derrama cominho: ou lança n'ella do melhor trigo, ou cevada escolhida, ou centeio, cada qual no seu logar.
When he hath made the face thereof even, Doth he not then scatter the dill, and cast abroad the cumin, And sow the wheat in rows, And the barley in its appointed place, And the spelt in his border?
26 O seu Deus o ensina, e o instrue ácerca do que ha de fazer.
Thus his God rightly instructeth him, And giveth him knowledge.
27 Porque a ervilhaca não se trilha com trilho, nem sobre o cominho passa roda de carro; mas com uma vara se sacode a ervilhaca, e o cominho com um páu.
The dill is not beaten out with the thrashing-sledge, Nor is the wheel of the wain rolled over the cumin; But the dill is beaten out with a staff, And the cumin with a rod.
28 O trigo é esmiuçado, mas não se trilha continuamente, nem se esmiuça com as rodas do seu carro, nem se quebranta com os seus cavallos.
Bread-corn is beaten out, Yet doth not the husbandman thrash it without limit. He driveth over it the wheels of the wain, And the horses, yet doth he not utterly crush it.
29 Até isto procede do Senhor dos Exercitos; porque é maravilhoso em conselho e grande em obra.
This also proceedeth from Jehovah of hosts; He is wonderful in counsel, Excellent in wisdom.
