Oséias 11
1 Quando Israel era menino, eu o amei; e do Egypto chamei a meu filho.
When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
2 Mas, como elles os chamavam, assim se iam da sua face: sacrificavam a baalins, e queimavam incenso ás imagens de esculptura.
As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.
3 Eu, todavia, ensinei a andar a Ephraim; tomei-os pelos seus braços, mas não conheceram que eu os curava.
I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
4 Attrahi-os com cordas humanas, com cordas de amor, e fui para elles como os que levantam o jugo de sobre as suas queixadas, e lhe dei mantimento.
I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.
5 Não voltará para a terra do Egypto, mas a Assyria será seu rei; porque recusam converter-se.
He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.
6 E ficará a espada sobre as suas cidades, e consumirá os seus ferrolhos, e devorará, por causa dos seus conselhos.
And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels.
7 Porque o meu povo se inclina a desviar-se de mim; bem que chamam ao Altissimo, nenhum d'elles se levanta.
And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.
8 Como te deixaria, ó Ephraim? como te entregaria, ó Israel? como te faria como Adama? te poria como Zeboim? Virou-se em mim o meu coração, todos os meus pezares juntamente estão accendidos.
How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.
9 Não executarei o furor da minha ira: não me tornarei para destruir a Ephraim, porque eu sou Deus e não homem, o Sancto no meio de ti, e não entrarei na cidade.
I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
10 Andarão após o Senhor, elle bramará como leão: bramando pois elle, os filhos do occidente tremerão.
They shall walk after Yhwh: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.
11 Tremendo, se achegarão como um passarinho os do Egypto, e como uma pomba os da terra da Assyria, e os farei habitar em suas casas, diz o Senhor.
They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith Yhwh.
12 Ephraim me cercou com mentira, e a casa de Israel com engano; mas Judah ainda domina com Deus, e com os sanctos está fiel.
Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.
