Hebreus 4

1 Temamos pois que, porventura, deixada a promessa de entrar no seu repouso, pareça que algum de vós fique atraz.

Then let us fear, lest at some time, the promise to enter into his rest having been left, some of you may appear to have come short.

2 Porque tambem a nós nos foi evangelizado, como a elles, mas a palavra da prégação de nada lhes aproveitou, porquanto não estava misturada com a fé n'aquelles que a ouviram.

For we truly have had the gospel preached unto us, as they did also: but the word of hearing did not profit them, not being mixed with faith to those hearing.

3 Porque nós, os que temos crido, entramos no repouso, como disse: Portanto jurei na minha ira que não entrarão no meu repouso: posto que já as suas obras estivessem acabadas desde a fundação do mundo

For we who have believed, do enter into rest: as he has said, As I swore in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest: the works truly having been from the foundations of the world.

4 Porque em certo logar disse assim do dia setimo: E repousou Deus de todas as suas obras no setimo dia.

For he somewhere has spoken thus in reference to the seventh day, And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.

5 E outra vez n'este logar: Não entrarão no meu repouso.

And in this again he has said, They shall not enter into my rest.

6 Visto pois, que resta que alguns entrem n'elle, e que aquelles a quem primeiro foi evangelizado, não entraram por causa da desobediencia,

Then since it remains that some do enter into it, and those formerly having had the gospel preached unto them did not enter in on account of unbelief,

7 Determina outra vez um certo dia, que chama Hoje, dizendo por David, muito tempo depois, como está dito: Hoje, se ouvirdes a sua voz, não endureçaes os vossos corações.

again he appoints a certain day, saying in David, as has previously been said, This day, after so long a time; If you may hear his voice this day, harden not your hearts.

8 Porque, se Josué lhes houvesse dado repouso, depois d'isso não fallaria de outro dia.

For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not speak concerning another day after these things.

9 Portanto resta ainda um repouso para o povo de Deus.

Therefore there is a sabbatism left for the people of God.

10 Porque, aquelle que entrou no seu repouso, tambem elle mesmo repousou de suas obras, como Deus das suas.

For the one having entered into his rest has ceased from his works, as God did from his own.

11 Procuremos pois entrar n'aquelle repouso, para que ninguem caia no mesmo exemplo de desobediencia.

Therefore let us hasten to enter into that rest, lest some one may fall by the same example of unbelief.

12 Porque a palavra de Deus é viva e efficaz, e mais penetrante do que espada alguma de dois gumes, e penetra até á divisão da alma e do espirito, e das junturas e medullas, e é apta para discernir os pensamentos e intenções do coração.

For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing unto the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and a quick discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13 E não ha creatura alguma encoberta diante d'elle; antes todas as coisas estão nuas e patentes aos olhos d'aquelle com quem tratamos.

And no creature is hidden in his presence: but all things are naked and have been laid open to the eyes of him to whom the word is unto us.

14 Visto que temos um grande summo sacerdote Jesus, Filho de Deus, que penetrou nos céus, retenhamos firmemente a nossa confissão.

Therefore having a great high priest, having entered into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast the testimony.

15 Porque não temos um summo sacerdote que não possa compadecer-se das nossas fraquezas; mas um que como nós, em tudo foi tentado, excepto no peccado.

For we have not a high priest who is not able to be touched with our infirmities; but one having been tempted as to all things like unto us, apart from sin.

16 Cheguemos pois com confiança ao throno da graça, para que possamos alcançar misericordia e achar graça, para sermos ajudados em tempo opportuno.

Therefore let us draw nigh with confidence to a throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and find grace in every opportune need.
