Hebreus 3
1 Pelo que, irmãos sanctos, participantes da vocação celestial, considerae a Jesus Christo, apostolo e summo sacerdote da nossa confissão,
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, attentively consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest whom we have confessed;
2 Sendo fiel ao que o constituiu, como tambem Moysés, em toda a sua casa.
who, as well as Moses, is faithful to him that appointed him over all his house.
3 Porque elle é tido por digno de tanto maior gloria do que Moysés, quanto mais honra do que a casa tem aquelle que a edificou.
Indeed, he has been accounted worthy of glory, as far superior to Moses, as that of the builder is superior to the house.
4 Porque toda a casa é edificada por alguem, porém o que edificou todas as coisas é Deus.
Now every house is built by some one; but he, the builder of all things, is God.
5 E, na verdade, Moysés foi fiel em toda a sua casa, como servo, para testemunho das coisas que se haviam de dizer;
And Moses, indeed, as a servant, was faithful in all his house, for a testimony of the things that were to be spoken by him;
6 Mas Christo, como Filho sobre a sua propria casa, a qual casa somos nós, se tão sómente retivermos firme a confiança e a gloria da esperança até ao fim.
but Christ, as a Son, over his own house--whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence, and the rejoicing of our hope, unshaken to the end.
7 Portanto, como diz o Espirito Sancto, se ouvirdes hoje a sua voz,
Wherefore, as the Holy Spirit says, "To-day, if you will hear his voice,
8 Não endureçaes os vossos corações, como na provocação, no dia da tentação no deserto
harden not your hearts, as in the bitter provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness;
9 Onde vossos paes me tentaram, me provaram, e viram por quarenta annos as minhas obras.
where your fathers tempted me, and proved me, yet saw my works for forty years.
10 Por isso me indignei contra esta geração, e disse: Estes sempre erram em seu coração, e não conheceram os meus caminhos:
Wherefore, I was displeased with that generation, and said, They always err in heart, and they have not known my ways.
11 Assim jurei na minha ira que não entrarão no meu repouso.
So, I swore, in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest."
12 Olhae, irmãos, que nunca haja em nenhum de vós um coração mau e infiel, para se apartar do Deus vivo.
Brethren, take heed, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, by departing from the living God.
13 Antes exhortae-vos uns aos outros cada dia, durante o tempo que se nomeia Hoje, para que nenhum de vós se endureça pelo engano do peccado;
But, lest any of you be hardened, through the deceitfulness of sin, exhort one another every day, while it is called To-day:
14 Porque estamos feitos participantes de Christo, se retivermos firmemente o principio da nossa confiança até ao fim.
(for we are all partakers of Christ, if, indeed, we hold fast this first confidence firm to the end; )
15 Entretanto se diz: Hoje, se ouvirdes a sua voz, não endureçaes os vossos corações, como na provocação.
with this saying, "To-day, if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the bitter provocation."
16 Porque, havendo-a alguns ouvido, o provocaram; porém não todos os que sairam por Moysés do Egypto.
For some, when they heard, did bitterly provoke; yet, not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
17 Mas com quem se indignou por quarenta annos? Não foi porventura com os que peccaram, cujos corpos cairam no deserto?
Was it not with them who sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness?
18 E a quem jurou que não entrariam no seu repouso, senão aos que foram desobedientes?
And to whom did he swear, that they should not enter into his rest, but to them who did not believe?
19 E vemos que não poderam entrar por causa da sua incredulidade.
So, we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
