Hebreus 2
1 Portanto convem-nos attentar com mais diligencia para as coisas que já temos ouvido, para que em tempo algum nos venhamos a esquecer.
Therefore we must give far more attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it.
2 Porque, se a palavra pronunciada pelos anjos permaneceu firme, e toda a transgressão e desobediencia recebeu a justa retribuição,
For if the message that was spoken through the angels proved to be so reliable, and every trespass and disobedience receives just punishment,
3 Como escaparemos nós, se não attentarmos para uma tão grande salvação, a qual, começando a ser annunciada pelo Senhor, foi-nos depois confirmada pelos que a ouviram;
how then can we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This is salvation that was first announced by the Lord and confirmed to us by those who heard it.
4 Testificando tambem Deus com signaes, e milagres, e varias maravilhas e distribuições do Espirito Sancto segundo a sua vontade?
At the same time God testified to it by signs, wonders, and various powerful deeds, and by distributing the gifts of the Holy Spirit according to his will.
5 Porque não sujeitou aos anjos o mundo futuro, de que agora fallamos.
For it was not to the angels that God subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking.
6 Porém em certo logar, testificou alguem, dizendo: Que é o homem, para que d'elle te lembres? ou o filho do homem, para que o visites?
Instead, someone has somewhere testified, saying, “What is man, that you are mindful of him? Or a son of man, that you care for him?
7 Tu o fizeste um pouco menor do que os anjos; o coroaste de gloria e de honra, e o constituiste sobre as obras de tuas mãos:
You made man a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor.
8 Todas as coisas lhe sujeitaste debaixo dos pés. Porque, visto que lhe sujeitou todas as coisas, nada deixou que lhe não fosse sujeito. Porém agora ainda não vemos que todas as coisas lhe estejam sujeitas;
You put everything in subjection under his feet.” For it was to him that God has subjected all things. He did not leave anything not subjected to him. But now we do not yet see everything subjected to him.
9 Porém vemos coroado de gloria e de honra aquelle Jesus que fôra feito um pouco menor do que os anjos, por causa da paixão da morte, para que, pela graça de Deus, provasse a morte por todos.
But we see him who was made lower than the angels for a little while, Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of his suffering and death, so that by God's grace he might taste death for everyone.
10 Porque convinha que aquelle, por cuja causa são todas as coisas, e mediante o qual todas as coisas existem, trazendo muitos filhos á gloria, consagrasse pelas afflicções o principe da salvação d'elles.
For it was proper for God, because everything exists for him and through him, to bring many sons to glory. It was proper for him to make the leader of their salvation complete through his sufferings.
11 Porque, assim o que sanctifica, como os que são sanctificados, todos são de um; por cuja causa não se envergonha de lhes chamar irmãos,
For both the one who sanctifies and those who are sanctified have one source. So he is not ashamed to call them brothers.
12 Dizendo: Annunciarei o teu nome a meus irmãos, cantar-te-hei louvores no meio da congregação.
He says, “I will proclaim your name to my brothers, I will sing about you from inside the assembly.”
13 E outra vez: Porei n'elle a minha confiança. E outra vez: Eis-me aqui a mim e aos filhos que Deus me deu.
And again, “I will trust in him.” And again, “See, here am I and the children whom God has given me.”
14 E, porquanto os filhos participam da carne e do sangue, tambem elle participou do mesmo, para que pela morte aniquilasse o que tinha o imperio da morte, isto é, o diabo:
Therefore, since the children of God share flesh and blood, Jesus also shared the same things with them, so that through death he would do away with the one who had the power of death, that is, the devil.
15 E livrasse todos os que, com medo da morte, estavam por toda a vida sujeitos á servidão,
This was so that he would free all those who through fear of death lived all their lives in slavery.
16 Porque, na verdade, não tomou os anjos, mas tomou a descendencia de Abrahão.
For of course it is not with angels that he is concerned; instead, it is with the seed of Abraham that he is concerned.
17 Pelo que convinha que em tudo fosse similhante aos irmãos, para ser misericordioso e fiel summo sacerdote nas coisas que são para com Deus, para expiar os peccados do povo.
So it was necessary for him to become like his brothers in all ways, so that he would be a merciful and faithful high priest in relation to the things of God, and so that he would bring about the pardon of the people's sins.
18 Porque n'aquillo que elle mesmo, sendo tentado, padeceu, pode soccorrer aos que são tentados.
Because Jesus himself has suffered and was tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
