Gênesis 36
1 E estas são as gerações de Esaú ( que é Edom).
(Here is/I will now give you) a list of the descendants of Esau, whose other name was Edom.
2 Esaú tomou suas mulheres das filhas de Canaan: a Adah, filha de Elon hetheo, e a Aholibamah, filha de Anah, filha de Zibeon heveo.
Esau married three women from the Canaan region: Adah, the daughter of Elon from the Heth people-group; Oholibamah, who was the daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon from the Hiv people-group;
3 E a Basemath, filha de Ishmael, irmã de Nebajoth.
and Basemath, who was the daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.
4 E Adah pariu a Esaú Eliphaz; e Basemath pariu a Rehuel;
Esau’s wife Adah gave birth to Eliphaz. Basemath gave birth to Reuel.
5 E Aholibamah pariu a Jeush, e Jaelam e Corah: estes são os filhos de Esaú, que lhe nasceram na terra de Canaan.
Oholibamah gave birth to Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. All these sons of Esau were born while he was living in the Canaan region.
6 E Esaú tomou suas mulheres, e seus filhos, e suas filhas, e todas as almas de sua casa, e seu gado, e todos os seus animaes, e toda a sua fazenda, que havia adquirido na terra de Canaan; e foi-se a outra terra de diante da face de Jacob seu irmão;
Jacob and Esau had very many possessions. The result was that they needed more land for their livestock. The land where they were living was not big enough for both of them. They had too much livestock. So Esau, whose other name was Edom, had taken his wives and sons and daughters and all the other members of his household, his sheep and goats and his other animals, and all the other things he had obtained in Canaan land, and they had moved to an area that was away from Jacob.
7 Porque a fazenda d'elles era muita para habitarem juntos; e a terra de suas peregrinações não os podia sustentar por causa do seu gado.
8 Portanto Esaú habitou na montanha de Seir; Esaú é Edom.
They went to live in the Seir hilly area.
9 Estas pois são as gerações de Esaú, pae dos Idumeos, na montanha de Seir.
(Here is/I will now give you) another list of the male descendants of Esau. He was the ancestor of the Edom people-group who live in the Seir area.
10 Estes são os nomes dos filhos de Esaú: Eliphaz, filho de Adah, mulher de Esaú; Rehuel, filho de Basemath, mulher de Esaú.
Esau’s wife Adah gave birth to Eliphaz, and Esau’s wife Basemath gave birth to Reuel.
11 E os filhos de Eliphsz foram: Teman, Omar, Zepho, e Gaetam, e Kenaz.
The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 E Timnah era concubina de Eliphaz, filho de Esaú, e pariu a Eliphaz Amelek: estes são os filhos de Adah, mulher de Esaú.
Esau’s son Eliphaz also had a (concubine/female slave whom he took as a secondary wife). Her name was Timna. She gave birth to Amalek. Those six men were grandsons of Esau’s wife Adah.
13 E estes foram os filhos de Rehuel: Nahath, e Zerah, Shammah, e Mizzah: estes foram os filhos de Basemath, mulher de Esaú.
Reuel’s sons were Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. They were grandsons of Esau’s wife Basemath.
14 E estes foram os filhos de Aholibamah, filha de Anah, filha de Zibeon, mulher de Esaú: e pariu a Esaú: Jeush, e Jalam, e Corah.
Esau’s wife Oholibamah, who was the daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon, gave birth to three sons: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.
15 Estes são os principes dos filhos de Esaú; o filhos de Eliphaz, o primogenito de Esaú, foram: o principe Teman, o principe Omar, o principe Zepho, o principe Kenaz,
(Here is/I will now give you) a list of the people-groups who were descendants of Esau. His oldest son Eliphaz was the ancestor of the Teman people-group, the Omar people-group, the Zepho people-group, the Kenaz people-group,
16 O principe Corah, o principe Gatam, o principe Amalek; estes são os principes de Eliphaz na terra de Edom, estes são os filhos de Adah.
the Korah people-group, the Gatam people-group, and the Amalek people-group. They were descendants of Eliphaz and of Esau’s wife Adah. They lived in the Edom region.
17 E estes são os filhos de Rehuel, filho de Esaú: o principe Nahath, o principe Zerah, o principe Shammah, o principe Mizzah; estes são os principes de Rehuel, na terra de Edom, estes são os filhos de Besemath, mulher de Esaú.
The sons of Esau’s son Reuel were ancestors of the Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah people-groups. They were descended from Esau’s wife Basemath. They also lived in Edom.
18 E estes são os filhos de Aholibamah, mulher de Esaú: o principe Jeush, o principe Jalam, o principe Corah; estes são os principes do Aholibamah, filha de Anah, mulher de Esaú.
The sons of Esau’s wife Oholibamah, whose mother was Anah, were ancestors of the Jeush, Jalam, and Korah people-groups.
19 Estes são os filhos de Esaú, e estes são seus principes: elle é Edom.
That is the list of the sons of Esau, and the people-groups who were their descendants.
20 Estes são os filhos de Seir horeo, moradores d'aquella terra: Lotan, e Sobal e Zibeon, e Anah.
(This is/I will now give you) a list of the descendants of Seir, who belonged to the Hor people-group, who were the first people-group who lived in the Edom region: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
21 E Dishon, e Eser, e Dishan; estes são os principes dos horeos, filhos de Seir, na terra de Edom.
Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. Those seven men became ancestors of people-groups. Each of the people-groups had the same name as the name of their ancestor.
22 E os filhos de Lotan foram: Hori e Hemam; e a irmã de Lotan era Timnah.
The sons of Lotan were Hori and Heman and Lotan’s sister was Timna.
23 Estes são os filhos de Sobal: Alvan, e Manahath, e Ebal, e Shepho, e Onam.
The sons of Shobal were Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 E estes são os filhos de Zibeon: Ajah, e Anah; este é o Anah que achou os mulos no deserto, quando apascentava os jumentos de Zibeon seu pae.
The sons of Zibeon were Aiah and Anah. This Anah was the one who discovered the hot springs in the desert while he was taking care of his father Zibeon’s donkeys.
25 E estes são os filhos de Anah: Dishon, e Aholibamah, a filha de Anah.
Anah had two children—a son named Dishon and a daughter named Oholibamah.
26 E estes são os filhos de Dishon: Hemdam, e Eshban, e Ithran, e Cheran.
Dishon’s sons were Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Keran.
27 Estes são os filhos de Eser: Bilhan, e Zaavan, e Akan.
Ezer’s sons were Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.
28 Estes são os filhos de Dishan: Uz, e Aran.
Dishan’s sons were Uz and Aran.
29 Estes são os principes dos horeos: O principe Lotan, o principe Shobal, o principe Zibeon, o principe Anah,
The people-groups who were descendants of Hor lived in the Seir/Edom region. The names of the people-groups are Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.
30 O principe Dishon, o principe Eser, o principe Dishan; estes são os principes dos horeos segundo seus principes na terra de Seir.
31 E estes são os reis que reinaram na terra de Edom, antes que reinasse rei algum sobre os filhos d'Israel.
These are the names of the kings who ruled in Edom before any kings ruled over Israel.
32 Reinou pois em Edom Bela, filho de Beor, e o nome da sua cidade foi Dinhaba.
Beor’s son Bela became the first king in Edom. The city where he lived was named Dinhabah.
33 E morreu Bela; e Jobab, filho de Zerah de Bosrah, reinou em seu logar.
When Bela died, Zerah’s son Jobab/became the king. He was from Bozrah [city].
34 E morreu Jobab; e Husam, da terra dos Temanitas, reinou em seu logar.
When Jobab died, Husham became the king. He was from the region where the Teman people-group lived.
35 E morreu Husam, e em seu logar reinou Hadad, filho de Bedad, o que feriu a Midian no campo de Moab; e o nome da sua cidade foi Avith.
When Husham died, Bedad’s son Hadan became the king. Husham’s army fought the army of the Midian people-group in the Moab region and defeated them. The city where Husham lived was Avith.
36 E morreu Hadad: e Samlah de Masreca reinou em seu logar.
When Hadad died, Samlah became the king. He was from Masrekah [town].
37 E morreu Samlah; e Shaul de Rehoboth, pelo rio, reinou em seu logar.
When Samlah died, Shaul became the king. He was from Rehoboth [town] along the [Euphrates] river.
38 E morreu Shaul; e Baal-hanan, filho de Achbor, reinou em seu logar.
When Shaul died, Achbor’s son Baal-Hanan became king.
39 E morreu Baal-hanan, filho de Achbor; e Hadar reinou em seu logar, e o nome da sua cidade foi Pau; e o nome de sua mulher foi Mehetabel, filha de Matred, filha de Mezahab.
When Achbor’s son Baal-Hanan died, Hadad became king. The city where he lived was named Pau. His wife’s name was Mehetabel. She was the daughter of Matred, who was the daughter of Me-Zahab.
40 E estes são os nomes dos principes de Esaú; segundo as suas gerações, segundo os seus logares, com os seus nomes: o principe Timnah, o principe Alvah, o principe Jetheth,
(Here is/I will now give you) a list of all the people-groups that were descendants of Esau: Timna, Alvah, Jetheth, Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon, Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, Magdiel, and Iram. They all lived in the Edom region. The land where each people-group lived got the same name as the name of the people-group.
41 O principe Aholibamah, o principe Elah o principe Pinon,
42 O principe Kenez, o principe Teman, o principe Mibzar,
43 O principe Magdiel, o principe Iram: estes são os principes de Edom, segundo as suas habitações, na terra da sua possessão; este é Esaú, pae de Edom.
