Gênesis 33
1 E levantou Jacob os seus olhos, e olhou, e eis que vinha Esaú, e quatrocentos homens com elle. Então repartiu os filhos entre Leah e Rachel, e as duas servas.
And Jacob lifts up his eyes, and looks, and behold, Esau is coming, and with him four hundred men; and he divides the children to Leah, and to Rachel, and to the two maidservants;
2 E poz as servas e seus filhos na frente, e a Leah e seus filhos atraz: porém a Rachel e José os derradeiros.
and he sets the maidservants and their children first, and Leah and her children behind, and Rachel and Joseph last.
3 E elle mesmo passou adiante d'elles, e inclinou-se á terra sete vezes, até que chegou a seu irmão.
And he himself passed over before them, and bows himself to the earth seven times, until his drawing near to his brother,
4 Então Esaú correu-lhe ao encontro, e abraçou-o, e lançou-se sobre o seu pescoço, e beijou-o; e choraram.
and Esau runs to meet him, and embraces him, and falls on his neck, and kisses him, and they weep;
5 Depois levantou os seus olhos, e viu as mulheres, e os meninos, e disse: Quem são estes comtigo? E elle disse: Os filhos que Deus graciosamente tem dado a teu servo.
and he lifts up his eyes, and sees the women and the children, and says, “What [are] these to you?” And he says, “The children with whom God has favored your servant.”
6 Então chegaram as servas; ellas, e os seus filhos, e inclinaram-se.
And the maidservants draw near, they and their children, and bow themselves;
7 E chegou tambem Leah com seus filhos, e inclinaram-se: e depois chegou José e Rachel, e inclinaram-se.
and Leah also draws near, and her children, and they bow themselves; and afterward Joseph has drawn near with Rachel, and they bow themselves.
8 E disse Esaú: De que te serve todo este bando que tenho encontrado? E elle disse: Para achar graça aos olhos de meu senhor.
And he says, “What to you [is] all this camp which I have met?” And he says, “To find grace in the eyes of my lord.”
9 Mas Esaú disse: Eu tenho bastante, meu irmão; seja para ti o que tens.
And Esau says, “I have abundance, my brother, that which you have, let it be for yourself.”
10 Então disse Jacob: Não, se agora tenho achado graça em teus olhos, peço-te que tomes o meu presente da minha mão: porquanto tenho visto o teu rosto, como se tivesse visto o rosto de Deus, e tomaste contentamento em mim.
And Jacob says, “No, please, now if I have found grace in your eyes, then you have received my present from my hand, because that I have seen your face, as the seeing of the face of God, and you are pleased with me;
11 Toma, peço-te, a minha benção, que te foi trazida; porque Deus graciosamente m'a tem dado; e porque tenho de tudo. E instou com elle, até que a tomou.
please receive my blessing which is brought to you, because God has favored me, and because I have all [things]”; and he presses on him, and he receives [it],
12 E disse: Caminhemos, e andemos, e eu partirei adiante de ti.
and says, “Let us journey and go on, and I go on before you.”
13 Porém elle lhe disse: Meu senhor sabe que estes filhos são tenros, e que tenho commigo ovelhas e vaccas de leite; se as afadigarem sómente um dia, todo o rebanho morrerá.
And he says to him, “My lord knows that the children [are] tender, and the suckling flock and the herd [are] with me; when they have beaten them one day, then all the flock has died.
14 Ora passe o meu senhor diante da face de seu servo; e eu irei como guia pouco a pouco, conforme ao passo do gado que é adiante da minha face, e conforme ao passo dos meninos, até que chegue a meu senhor em Seir.
Please let my lord pass over before his servant, and I lead on gently, according to the foot of the work which [is] before me, and to the foot of the children, until I come to my lord, to Seir.”
15 E Esaú disse: Deixarei logo comtigo d'esta gente, que está commigo. E elle disse: Para que é isso? Basta que eu ache graça aos olhos de meu senhor.
And Esau says, “Please let me place with you some of the people who [are] with me”; and he said, “Why [is] this? I find grace in the eyes of my lord.”
16 Assim se tornou Esaú aquelle dia pelo seu caminho a Seir.
And Esau turns back on that day on his way to Seir;
17 Jacob, porém, partiu para Succoth e edificou para si uma casa; e fez cabanas para o seu gado: por isso chamou o nome d'aquelle logar Succoth.
and Jacob has journeyed to Succoth, and builds a house for himself, and has made shelters for his livestock, therefore he has called the name of the place Succoth.
18 E chegou Jacob salvo á cidade de Sichem, que está na terra de Canaan, quando vinha de Paddan-aram; e fez o seu assento diante da cidade.
And Jacob comes safe [to the] city of Shechem, which [is] in the land of Canaan, in his coming from Padan-Aram, and encamps before the city,
19 E comprou uma parte do campo em que estendera a sua tenda, da mão dos filhos de Hemor, pae de Sichem, por cem peças de dinheiro.
and he buys the portion of the field where he has stretched out his tent, from the hand of the sons of Hamor, father of Shechem, for one hundred kesitah;
20 E levantou ali um altar, e chamou-o Deus, o Deus d'Israel.
and he sets up there an altar, and proclaims at it God—the God of Israel.
