Gênesis 2
1 Assim os céus, e a terra e todo o seu exercito foram acabados.
Thus were finished the heavens and the earth and all their host.
2 E havendo Deus acabado no dia setimo a sua obra, que tinha feito, descançou no setimo dia de toda a sua obra, que tinha feito.
Thus God finished, on the seventh day his work which he had made, and rested, on the seventh day, from all his work which he had made.
3 E abençoou Deus o dia setimo, e o sanctificou; porque n'elle descançou de toda a sua obra, que Deus creára e fizera.
And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it, —because therein, rested he from all his work which God, by creating, had made.
4 Estas são as origens dos céus e da terra, quando foram creados: no dia em que o Senhor Deus fez a terra e os céus:
These are the geneses of the heavens and the earth when they were created, —in the day when Yahweh God made earth and heavens.
5 E toda a planta do campo que ainda não estava na terra, e toda a herva do campo que ainda não brotava; porque ainda o Senhor Deus não tinha feito chover sobre a terra, e não havia homem para lavrar a terra.
Now, no bush of the field, as yet—was in the earth, and, no herb of the field, as yet had sprung up, —because Yahweh God had not sent rain on the earth, and, man, was there none to till the ground;
6 Um vapor, porém, subia da terra, e regava toda a face da terra.
but, a vapour, went up from the earth, —and watered all the face of the ground.
7 E formou o Senhor Deus o homem do pó da terra, e soprou em seus narizes o folego da vida: e o homem foi feito alma vivente.
So then Yahweh God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed in his nostrils the breath of life—and man became a living soul.
8 E plantou o Senhor Deus um jardim no Eden, da banda do oriente: e poz ali o homem que tinha formado.
And Yahweh God planted a garden in Eden, on the east, —and put there the man whom he had formed.
9 E o Senhor Deus fez brotar da terra toda a arvore agradavel á vista, e boa para comida: e a arvore da vida no meio do jardim, e a arvore da sciencia do bem e do mal.
And Yahweh God, caused to spring up, out of the ground, every tree pleasant to the sight and good for food, —and the tree of life, in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
10 E sahia um rio do Eden para regar o jardim; e d'ali se dividia e se tornava em quatro cabeças.
Now, a river, was coming forth out of Eden, to water the garden, —and, from thence, it parted, and became four heads,
11 O nome do primeiro é Pison: este é o que rodeia toda a terra de Havila, onde ha oiro.
The name of the one, is Pishon, —the same, is that which surroundeth all the land of Havilah, where is gold;
12 E o oiro d'essa terra é bom: ali ha o bdellio, e a pedra sardonica.
moreover the gold of that land, is good, —there, is the bdellium, and the beryl stone,
13 E o nome do segundo rio é Gihon: este é o que rodeia toda a terra de Cush.
And the name of the second river, is Gihon, —the same, is that which surroundeth all the land of Cush,
14 E o nome do terceiro rio é Hiddekel: este é o que vae para a banda do oriente da Assyria: e o quarto rio é o Euphrates.
And, the name of the third river, is Hiddekel, the same, is that which goeth in front of Assyria; and the fourth river, is Euphrates.
15 E tomou o Senhor Deus o homem, e o poz no jardim do Eden para o lavrar e o guardar.
So Yahweh God took the man, —and placed him in the garden of Eden, to till it and to keep it.
16 E ordenou o Senhor Deus ao homem, dizendo: De toda a arvore do jardim comerás livremente,
And Yahweh God laid command on the man, saying, —Of every tree of the garden, thou mayest eat;
17 Mas da arvore da sciencia do bem e do mal, d'ella não comerás; porque no dia em que d'ella comeres, certamente morrerás.
but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it, —for in the day thou eatest thereof, thou shalt die.
18 E disse o Senhor Deus: Não é bom que o homem esteja só: far-lhe-hei uma ajudadora que esteja como diante d'elle.
And Yahweh God said, It is, not good, that the man should remain alone, —I will make for him a helper as his counterpart.
19 Havendo pois o Senhor Deus formado da terra todo o animal do campo, e toda a ave dos céus os trouxe a Adão, para este vêr como lhes chamaria; e tudo o que Adão chamou a toda a alma vivente, isso foi o seu nome.
Now Yahweh God had formed from the ground every living thing of the field and every bird of the heavens, which he brought in unto the man, that he might see what he should call it, —and, whatsoever the man should call it—any living soul, that, should be the name thereof.
20 E Adão poz os nomes a todo o gado, e ás aves dos céus, e a toda a besta do campo; mas para o homem não se achava ajudadora que estivesse como diante d'elle.
So the man gave names to all the tame-beasts, and to the birds of the heavens, and to all the wild-beasts of the field, —but, for man, had there not been found a helper as his counterpart.
21 Então o Senhor Deus fez cair um somno pesado sobre Adão, e este adormeceu: e tomou uma das suas costellas, e cerrou a carne em seu logar;
So Yahweh God caused a deep sleep to fall on the man, and he slept, —and he took one of his ribs, and closed up flesh instead thereof.
22 E da costella que o Senhor Deus tomou do homem, formou uma mulher: e trouxe-a a Adão.
And Yahweh God builded the rib which he had taken from the man, into a woman, and brought her in unto the man.
23 E disse Adão: Esta é agora osso dos meus ossos, e carne da minha carne: esta será chamada varôa, porquanto do varão foi tomada.
And the man said, This, one, now, is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh! This, one shall be called Woman, for, out of a man, hath this one been taken.
24 Portanto deixará o varão o seu pae e a sua mãe, e apegar-se-ha á sua mulher, e serão ambos uma carne.
For this cause, will a man leave his father and his mother, and cleave unto his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
25 E ambos estavam nús, o homem e a sua mulher; e não se envergonhavam.
And they were both of them naked, the man and his wife, —and put not each other to shame.
