Gênesis 17
1 Sendo pois Abrão da edade de noventa e nove annos, appareceu o Senhor a Abrão, e disse-lhe: Eu sou o Deus Todo-poderoso, anda em minha presença e sê perfeito:
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, Yahweh appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty. Walk before me, and be blameless.
2 E porei o meu concerto entre mim e ti, e te multiplicarei grandissimamente.
Then I will confirm my covenant between me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.”
3 Então caiu Abrão sobre o seu rosto, e fallou Deus com elle, dizendo:
Abram bowed low with his face to the ground and God talked with him, saying,
4 Quanto a mim, eis o meu concerto, comtigo é e serás o pae de uma multidão de nações;
“As for me, behold, my covenant is with you. You will be the father of a multitude of nations.
5 E não se chamará mais o teu nome Abrão, mas Abrahão será o teu nome; porque por pae da multidão de nações te tenho posto:
No longer will your name be Abram, but your name will be Abraham—for I appoint you to be the father of a multitude of nations.
6 E te farei fructificar grandissimamente, e de ti farei nações, e reis sairão de ti
I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will descend from you.
7 E estabelecerei o meu concerto entre mim e ti e a tua semente depois de ti em suas gerações, por concerto perpetuo, para te ser a ti por Deus, e á tua semente depois de ti
I will establish my covenant between me and you and your descendants after you, throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you.
8 E te darei a ti, e á tua semente depois de ti, a terra de tuas peregrinações, toda a terra de Canaan em perpetua possessão, e ser-lhes-hei Deus.
I will give to you, and to your descendants after you, the land where you have been living, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.”
9 Disse mais Deus a Abrahão: Tu, porém, guardarás o meu concerto, tu, e a tua semente depois de ti, nas suas gerações.
Then God said to Abraham, “As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.
10 Este é o meu concerto, que guardareis entre mim e vós, e a tua semente depois de ti: Que todo o macho vos será circumcidado.
This is my covenant, which you must keep, between me and you and your descendants after you: Every male among you must be circumcised.
11 E circumcidareis a carne do vosso prepucio; e isto será por signal do concerto entre mim e vós.
You must be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin, and this will be the sign of the covenant between me and you.
12 O filho de oito dias, pois, vos será circumcidado, todo o macho nas vossas gerações: o nascido na casa, e o comprado por dinheiro a qualquer estrangeiro, que não fôr da tua semente.
Every male among you that is eight days old must be circumcised, throughout your people's generations. This includes him who is born into your household and him who is bought with money from any foreigner who is not one of your descendants.
13 Com effeito será circumcidado o nascido em tua casa, e o comprado por teu dinheiro: e estará o meu concerto na vossa carne por concerto perpetuo.
He who is born into your household and he who is bought with your money must be circumcised. Thus my covenant will be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
14 E o macho com prepucio, cuja carne do prepucio não estiver circumcidada, aquella alma será extirpada dos seus povos; quebrantou o meu concerto.
Any uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin will be cut off from his people. He has broken my covenant.”
15 Disse Deus mais a Abrahão: A Sarai tua mulher não chamarás mais pelo nome de Sarai, mas Sarah será o seu nome,
God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, do not call her Sarai any more. Instead, her name will be Sarah.
16 Porque eu a hei de abençoar, e te hei de dar a ti d'ella um filho; e a abençoarei, e será mãe das nações; reis de povos sairão d'ella
I will bless her, and I will give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she will become the mother of nations. Kings of peoples will come from her.”
17 Então caiu Abrahão sobre o seu rosto, e riu-se, e disse no seu coração: A um homem de cem annos ha de nascer um filho? e parirá Sarah da edade de noventa annos?
Then Abraham bowed low with his face to the ground, and laughed, and said in his heart, “Can a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? How can Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a son?”
18 E disse Abrahão a Deus: Oxalá que viva Ishmael diante de teu rosto!
Abraham said to God, “Oh that Ishmael might live before you!”
19 E disse Deus: Na verdade, Sarah tua mulher te parirá um filho, e chamarás o seu nome Isaac, e com elle estabelecerei o meu concerto, por concerto perpetuo para a sua semente depois d'elle.
God said, “No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you must name him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant with his descendants after him.
20 E emquanto a Ishmael, tambem te tenho ouvido: eis aqui o tenho abençoado, e fal-o-hei fructificar, e fal-o-hei multiplicar grandissimamente: doze principes gerará, e d'elle farei uma grande nação.
As for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I hereby bless him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him abundantly. He will be the father of twelve leaders of tribes, and I will make him become a great nation.
21 O meu concerto, porém, estabelecerei com Isaac, o qual Sarah te parirá n'este tempo determinado, no anno seguinte.
But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this time in the next year.”
22 E acabou de fallar com elle, e saiu Deus de Abrahão.
When he had finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham.
23 Então tomou Abrahão a seu filho Ishmael, e a todos os nascidos na sua casa, e a todos os comprados por seu dinheiro, todo o macho entre os homens da casa de Abrahão; e circumcidou a carne do seu prepucio, n'aquelle mesmo dia, como Deus fallára com elle.
Then Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all those who were born into his household, and all those who were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's household, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in that same day, as God had said to him.
24 E era Abrahão da edade de noventa e nove annos, quando lhe foi circumcidada a carne do seu prepucio.
Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
25 E Ishmael, seu filho, era da edade de treze annos, quando lhe foi circumcidada a carne do seu prepucio.
Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
26 N'este mesmo dia foi circumcidado Abrahão e Ishmael seu filho,
On the very same day Abraham and Ishmael his son were both circumcised.
27 E todos os homens da sua casa, o nascido em casa, e o comprado por dinheiro do estrangeiro, foram circumcidados com elle.
All the men of his household were circumcised with him, including those born into the household and those bought with money from a foreigner.
