Gálatas 5
1 Estae pois firmes na liberdade com que Christo nos libertou, e não torneis a metter-vos debaixo do jugo da servidão.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
2 Eis aqui, eu, Paulo, vos digo que, se vos deixardes circumcidar, Christo de nada vos aproveitará.
Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
3 E de novo protesto a todo o homem que se deixa circumcidar que está obrigado a guardar a lei.
For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
4 Separados estaes de Christo, vós os que vos justificaes pela lei: da graça tendes caido.
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5 Porque pelo espirito da fé aguardamos a esperança da justiça.
For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6 Porque a circumcisão e a incircumcisão não teem virtude alguma em Christo Jesus; mas sim a fé que obra por caridade.
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
7 Corríeis bem; quem vos impediu, para que não obedeçaes á verdade?
Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
8 Esta persuasão não vem d'aquelle que vos chamou.
This persuasion [cometh] not of him that calleth you.
9 Um pouco de fermento levéda toda a massa.
A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
10 Confio de vós, no Senhor, que nenhuma outra coisa sentireis; mas aquelle que vos inquieta, seja elle quem quer que fôr, soffrerá a condemnação.
I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
11 Eu, porém, irmãos, se prégo ainda a circumcisão, porque serei pois perseguido? logo o escandalo da cruz está anniquilado.
And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
12 Oxalá que aquelles que vos andam inquietando fossem tambem cortados.
I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
13 Porque vós, irmãos, fostes chamados á liberdade. Não useis da liberdade só para dar occasião á carne, porém servi-vos uns aos outros pela caridade.
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only [use] not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14 Porque toda a lei se cumpre n'uma só palavra, n'esta: Amarás ao teu proximo como a ti mesmo.
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, [even] in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
15 Se vós, porém, vos mordeis e devoraes uns aos outros, vêde não vos consumaes tambem uns aos outros.
But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16 Digo, porém: Andae em Espirito, e não cumprireis a concupiscencia da carne.
[This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 Porque a carne cobiça contra o Espirito, e o Espirito contra a carne; e estes oppõem-se um ao outro: para que não façaes o que quereis.
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 Porém, se sois guiados pelo Espirito, não estaes debaixo da lei.
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Porque as obras da carne são manifestas, as quaes são: Adulterio, fornicação, immundicia, dissolução,
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatria, feitiçarias, inimizades, porfias, emulações, iras, pelejas, dissensões, heresias,
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Invejas, homicidios, bebedices, glotonerias, e coisas similhantes a estas, ácerca das quaes vos declaro, como já d'antes vos disse, que os que commettem taes coisas não herdarão o reino de Deus.
Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 Mas o fructo do Espirito é caridade, gozo, paz, longanimidade, benignidade, bondade, fé, mansidão, temperança.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Contra estas coisas não ha lei.
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 Porém os que são de Christo crucificaram a carne com as suas paixões e concupiscencias.
And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 Se vivemos em Espirito, andemos tambem em Espirito.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Não sejamos cubiçosos de vanglorias, irritando-nos uns aos outros, invejando-nos uns aos outros.
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
